I usually expect fantastic service from the friendly staff, but today that changed, when I explained my situation about not having my rewards card because I had just signed up, the cashier refused to give me the 50% discount; however, after talking to the manager I had to fill out another rewards card to get the discount, which was fine.BUT when I began to pay for the transaction the cashier mumbled under her breath, I asked her what she said, she mumbled again, "Im sure you were told" With a crappy smirk on her face. I was baffled that the cashier was asking like a child. I asked to see her name tag and she turned away from me so I could not see it. It was quite childish, all I really wanted was the discount. In a store that already seems to be struggling to low profits and overstaffing, I WILL NOT BE RETURNING.

I went into the store on August 8th to pick up some simple items. When I could not find what I was looking for, I had to hunt to find a store employee. When I found them, the two were engaged in conversation that was obviously personal in nature. I asked one for the part I needed and they both seemed irritated that I would interrupt them. He showed me where one of the parts were. When I asked where the other parts might be, he simply stated, "Why dont you try looking in one of the other isles and Im sure youll find it eventually." Though I live three blocks from the store and I personally know many Ace Hardware owners, I will gladly drive to Home Depot, which is a few miles from my home, to get what I need from now on.

I had a can of paint I needed shaken. I called and asked if I could bring it by to have it mixed up. They said "yes, no problem". I get to the store, the lady asks me if I bought the paint there at Ace. I told her "no" and they refused to shake it. Said they would only shake paint that was purchased at their store. WTF??? So I set the a bunch of items I WAS going to purchase down on the paint counter and started to leave. The lady asked me "So you are just going to leave these items here?" My reply was "since you are not busy shaking my paint you have more than enough time to put them away" What a waste of time.

This place is the equivalent of a hardware section at any Walmart. It is very small and doesnt have much selection at all. I went here for lawn supplies like mulch and grass seed but found that they only had 2-3 bags of each and only 1 brand. I also went here to buy Christmas lights the year before and again found only 1 brand to choose from and a very limited supply. Drive to a Home Depot, at least you know they will have what you need.

This is my go-to hardware store. Ive found employees to be very helpful. While selection isnt as massive as the big box hardware stores, they more than make up for it with employees who can always help with that pesky plumbing, electrical or paint project. The hardware (nuts and bolts) selection cant be beat. Give them a chance to prove the smaller hardware store experience can be a lot more satisfying than bouncing around a mega-store.

I had liked going to this store because they were close and had what I needed. However, they apparently have a no return policy on plants but dont post it anywhere or tell you about it. I bought a tree and found out that it was more than twice what other places will sell them for and went to return it 2 days later. The manager would not let me. I will not be doing business with them anymore. Shame on you Ace!

Staff and management both really have no idea how to handle customers or specific credit transactions. Technology of today has become to complex for the older workers. As policy goes, if they continue to not accept a card payment from a partner who is not married, they will fail as a business. As of today, if they refuse to accept my payment, they can refuse my whole family.

Great customer service! If you cant find help at Lowes or home depot, then look no further! Ace may be small and dont have a lot of selection, but they are the best in giving you advice to save time and money. I was here couple years ago but seems the store is under new management. Store is clean and the staff are friendly. I will be shopping here more often.

They do not accept returns, and if you walk around for a little too long, and your not a senior, they think your shoplifting! They demand ID for credit purchases, and if you just changed your last name forget it! The staff are not nice, and seem off colored. I dont shop here anymore, go to the one in Sun City West if you want excellent service.

Average size store as far as Aces go. Customer service is good and they are very willing the help you find what the youre looking for. Only thing is sometimes the checkout lines get long and I have stood in line longer then I preferred.

Love going to Ace Hardware in Surprise, never had a problem with returns or exchanges! Great knowledge of what they sell and even advice you how to do it! Can not find what you are looking for elsewhere, go to ACE in Surprise! Carl

Says they open at 8, this is incorrect as I walked in and was told they were still closed. I could not go in until 8:03. The associate behind the counter was extremely rude. I will take my business elsewhere.
