I took the Basic Rider course that the dealership offers and it was well worth the money. It was a little more expensive than signing up with Team Arizona directly, but the class is well worth the asking price, especially if it subsidizes free classes for service men and women as well as first responders. The course manager Bill is a straight shooter, which is a huge load off my shoulder. I know that if there is an issue with my riding or my behavior Bill will tell me. He lays out course expectations well in all the pre-class material and sets a good stage for John. I dont know Johns background but that is some of the best coaching I have ever received for -- well for just about anything. The dude seems to get along with everyone, which is a feat in my opinion. Whether it was coaching the quiet 16 year old in the class, or the hot shot that thinks he knows everything, John has a deft hand with all personalities. All that wouldnt mean anything if the course didnt work. I feel more confident as a new rider and passed all the exams, so at least in the eyes of Arizona the course did just fine. John really helped clear up some issues I had with turning, and clutch control though, and his braking-in-turn coaching helped break some developing habits of mine. At one point they take you through the dealership and give you a "tour", pretty much try to sell you stuff. I could have done without this, or at least heard a better pitch from a sales person. The guy who pitched us, Ethan, seems like a really nice guy but he may want to have a quick little blurb prepared ahead of time for the next go around. Focus on the history of the bike and brand, and not the price tag; Im a bit of a history nerd though. Bill does a good job of pointing out interesting bits on this tour, and honestly if he wasnt so upfront about "we would love to sell you a bike today, so I am going to politely try to do that, and if youre not buying thats just fine" it would have been worth knocking a star off. If you want to get in and out of there, take the class during the summer. John did a good job of balancing time and heat. That said, if you really want to spend as much time as humanly possible being taught how to ride, take the class in the winter. From what Bill said they have a couple of classes going then, beginner and advanced, which means they arent in a rush to get people off the scalding tarmac. 5/5 would take again.

My first experience with this location, I was looking to pick up a sporty for my mom. Cam in with cash looking for one that matched her style. The salesmen who approached me asked what I was looking for and tried real hard to help me find it. He was not pushy, did not try to get me to buy something she wouldnt like, & made me feel real comfortable while we walked the floor. The 2nd time I cam in looking for a bike, it was for me. I was looking for the new breakout & came in with cash again. This time, it was their salsa tasting event & the floor was PACKED with salesmen. I like to buy things from people not douche bags. So I stood there, by the only breakout they had...waiting...waiting...and waiting. I got some looks, most of them with a hairy eyeball. I decided to start touching & the looks got worse. SO, I walked away, pockets still bulging. Why do I give them 3 stars? I do my own work, so I havent dealt with the service department. I can see the attitude in some of the service staff. I just smile & walk right by their area. The parts department staff is awesome. Theyve even called other local mom & pop shops to find my parts when they were out of stock. Great attitudes & great service, thats all it takes. The front retail counter people are 50/50. If they got rid of the chumps in service & sales...it would be a ghost-town & theyd probably have to shut their doors. However, if they got rid of whoever their hiring manager is & replaced them with a optimist who looked for other positive people, then this place would become douche free. ...one more gripe; hotdogs on event days? LAME! Drove a mile up the road to Hek Yeah BBQ & it was awesome. They cater btw Buddy Stubbs. Make it great or let it remain just ok. I can get HD parts anywhere. Will be shocked (in a positive way) if I ever buy a bike there. You lost 21k in cash 8/31 because of your salesmen. I was wearing the blue avengers shirt, roll the tapes, look at my pockets, & how your douche bags approached me when I was by the breakout thats still YOURS.

This is just on specifically the service department and their service manager... First off all let me say this, i gave them a (2) star and not a (1) star because the fact there is (2) really good service guys there, Richard and Matt are solid and do their best to cover the short comings of their "boss" and crappy service work. I had a new complete top end on my electra-glide done and long story short it took them a MONTH to build!! A top end! Should be about 10-12 hours! Got the bike back and fairing bolt fell out, throttle linkage nut and washers fell off (while riding), the forward jug was leaking between it and the engine case, and now it idles out of control (1200 rpms+)!! Then i brought it back for the manditory oil change to keep the warranty... They Charged Me $65 dollars for it?!?! Charged for an oil change on their work?? Then i brought up all the other issues and was told "the idle is normal"?? Really? And have to make another appointment to address the other problems, NOT HAPPENING! Im in the business and understand mistakes but come on man, step up and own it! Fix it! 100% horrible management and sub-par mechanics. Oh and then... ready for this?? I asked, by the way what is your engine work warranty that i had to bring my bike back and pay $65 for?? The manager said "90 days". REALLY 90 FREAKING DAYS???? For motor work at a factory authorized Harley Davidson dealer??? WOW! Never ever again will Buddy Stubbs see my money! Choose wisely people and do not use Buddy Stubbs! Atleast until new management do not even consider them. Bad work and terrible management! I have so much more to say but would like to remain professional and keep it simple. Again (2) service guys are great, every other concept of the service was terrible! Good luck friends, you will need it if your bike goes in there...

I simply cannot say enough nice things about these guys. Top notch all the way. I had a very technical and complex issue that I barely understood. I bought a Power Vision Tuner with Target Tune from Fuel Moto. Drove the bike to Denver from Phoenix and back in 3 days. Bike was running rough and I was getting about 119 miles per tank (down hill). Not good, right? Spoke with boys (Jaime) over at Fuel Moto (highly recommend them too). They were kind enough to call Chris at Buddy Stubbs (hes the service guru there... the employees call him boss). Chris called me in to bring the bike in and I left it there. They do 2 or 3 "extended" test rides and gives me the bad news. Theres some minor issues with the cam plate and other things related to the cam (nothing horrible, just general maintenance items that needed to be taken care of eventually anyway). Chris is just one of those "good ole boys" that just takes care of you. Period. When youre happy, hes happy. You can tell just by talking. He explained everything and gave me a few options. I opted for an UPGRADE-- the SE585 Cam! I told him to take his time and since the heat is here, I am not in a rush at all. After about 2 weeks, I went to pick it up. Boy, does that Cam really make a difference. I mean, REALLY!!! You can definitely feel it right at 3800 rpms!!!! Chris and his crew dont know me. I am not a regular. But they treated me like family. I really felt welcome there. If you havent been to Buddy Stubbs in a while, you owe it to yourself to check them out. Go talk to Chris, I am sure youll be happy that you did. I price shopped that cam and also the SS585-- Buddy Stubbs beat the indie shop price for new cam-- and its all covered under warranty!
