As much as the National Parks were "Americas best idea" Midtown village may be Tuscaloosas, at least in the last 10-20 years. A delightful outdoor strip mall consisting of restaurants, electronics stores, clothiers, and more, Midtown (in my opinion) began the revitalization of the McFarland/15th Street portion of Tuscaloosa. This has led to further developments such as Legacy Park and infrastructure improvements in this portion of town. The mall even has a gated playground and open grassy area if shopping isnt so much ones thing. Midtown village has completely changed the way Tuscaloosa looks and feels to me, a long time native, and I believe its changed it for the better.

This shopping center has some good stores and restaurants in it. However, my rating is only a three because I do not like the way the parking and traffic flow was designed for this shopping center. It always seems difficult to find a decent parking spot, and it seems like traffic gets concentrated into limited spaces. This makes it unpleasant for driving in and out, and it can be unpleasant for walking to and from your car, too.

Aside from the shopping. Please visit Ms. Tees one to one Studio in the Phenix Salon Suites. Absolutely amazing. Hands down. You get personal attention for all of your haircare needs. She is a professional who will take the time and care. I was visiting Tuscaloosa for the weekend and happened to stumble upon Ms. Tee. I am so thankful that I did. Amazing. Please visit

Love shopping here! Everything is brand new thanks to the F5 Tornado of April 27th, 2011. Lots of great stores and restaurants. ULTA is a MUST for all of the makeup addicts...like me! Some great stores are Best Buy, ULTA, Nike store, GameStop, Barnes & Noble, Panera Bread and theres a Chuckie Cheese for the kids and for us "adults" who still love playing skiball

Great shopping plaza with tons of options for dining! Navigating through it can be a little tedious at times- but otherwise I highly recommend. Most shops that were in the mall across the street-have relocated here. They have a nice courtyard in the center, with a playground & fountain for the kids. They do a lot of community events here as well.

The stores are convenient and nice to have, but getting through the parking areas was a nightmare! It is always congested and people sit and wait for a parking place which makes it that much more congested. Love the idea, and the events they throw, but they need to work on the parking situation!

Midtown is such a headache, I like the idea, with the large central playground, but the parking is a nightmare and the shops are all very similar. I do enjoy some of the restaurants here (minus iguana grill) but again, parking is a nightmare, which can be frustrating.

Conveniently located outside mall with a good array of clothing, gift, and book stores as well as restaurants. Sit down and fast food available. I particularly like the large Barns & Noble, Alta, Chicos, Longhorn Steakhouse, and Tazikis. Great location for walking.

I lived around the corner in Brook Meadows townhouses prior to these shops being built. However, I visit Ttown several times a year a and I love these shops and their convenience to the highway. I will go there on my way out of town just about every time.

Good shopping and dining but the most atrocious parking anywhere in Tuscaloosa. There simply isnt enough parking for the number of shops plus the parking is shared with a health club and the spillover parking shared with apartments in back. Drivers beware!

Ate at Metro diner, had the Philly cheese sandwich, excellent. Also had homemade chips and they were so hard you couldnt chew them. I told the waitress and she did not offer to replace with another side, just stated she would tell the cook.

Went to Panera and that was fine. Service was a little slow but expected during lunch in a college town. Also went to Barnes and Noble and their staff was extremely slow took about 12 minutes for two people to checkout in front of me.

There are a lot of nice stores here. If youre looking for variety or something simple, youll probably find here. It was pretty darn crowded, but thats not a problem and to be expected of such nice area.

Contains a variety of merchants for folks to blow money all packed within walking distance. Also has a few bars so any drunkards that visit wont have to drive to the next one. Cramped parking.

We went to Chuck E. Cheeses in Midtown Village, but I love how all the stores within it were so welcoming and right there together. Would make for a perfect browsing/shopping spree day!

Nice variety of shopping, dining, and other local needs such as the fitness center. Also free wifi within the area. Special entertainment events occasionally for the community!

There is a good assortment of stores and restaurants, but the parking there is usually atrocious. I take away 1 star for the horrible parking and parking lot design.
CH

Lots of good shops and restaurants but the design of the parking lot almost seemed like an afterthought, which makes it difficult to maneuver a vehicle of any size.

Not an enclosed mall, but rather a marginally upscale shopping center. The usual collection of stores and restaurants, most notably Best Buy and Barnes & Noble.

Lots of nice stores, boutiques, and places to eat. Less one star because parking and navigation within the shopping center isnt great at peak times.

Nice shopping area full of stores and restaurants and more but the parking and traffic is awkward overall. You cant really see when backing up.

Great shops in a small area. The original mall is across the street. However, this area is much more upscale.
