Drove through from out of town and saw that they were open on a Sunday night. That was a plus! Very charming place. However, despite all the good reviews, we were very disappointed. We let the people in line move ahead of us and told the lady at the counter that we needed a quick minute to order because we had never been before. The menu was extensive--lots of great looking drinks. But instead of helping us she just pointed at the signs and walked away. I told her I couldnt have dairy and she told me my options were straight brewed coffee (not soy milk, almond milk, hot tea, etc...LOTS of options without dairy.) She was not friendly at all, and actually seemed a little bothered by us. When our drinks were ready, the barista simply put them on the counter. Didnt let us know they were ready or anything. Simply placed them down and walked away. Both our drinks were WAY too hot and the coffee was weak. We were hoping maybe the coffee was good enough to overlook the staff (I like to give not-so-friendly service second chances just because you just dont know if someone has just had a bad day, especially when they have a lot of good reviews). But it wasnt. We visit Mobile very often and it would have to take a lot of convincing for us to go back. Very disappointing.

Would give zero if I could! I have had multiple run-ins with this place, and all of my experiences are awful. First of all, back in August I was snubbed a job here for no clear reason. The manager straight up ignored me, talked down to be, and never so much as called me to let me know that they were no longer hiring. I probably went in four times over the course of a month to check on my application, and during that time, THREE new girls were hired, all with the same "look": all hot, all braindead. Speaking of braindead, last night was the LAST time I will ever go to this establishment. I waited 15 minutes at the counter for a simple cup of medium roast while one of the hipster chicks had her back turned to me making some fru fru drink. I was never acknowledged... and then she had the nerve to take out her cellphone and take an Instagram of the cappuccino she made! What a moron! The add insult to injury, the coffee absolutely sucked when I got it; honestly had no flavor. I could have been drinking hot water with food coloring in it.

OK, so my guess is this place probably already has its customer base built to satisfaction and that base includes only the following: Springhillians (If youre from Mobile, you know what that means), college kids, and/or pretentious hipsters. The latter was what greeted me and my running friends at the counter, or perhaps "greeted" would be better replaced with "scowled at". We decided to try out this place after our early morning run. Yeah...not a friendly gal behind the counter. I guess we werent part of the "regular" crowd, so it kind of had her in a funk. I dunno. Coffee was meh. Breakfast croissant was meh. If stale croissants, pretentious hipster baristas, and ambiance music that sounds like it came from the 80s Dr. Who series are your thing, then Carpe Diem is definitely your place.

This place has some of the best coffee around, without a doubt. The staff here are also a huge help, sometimes I cant decide what I want. Talking with the staff I would say the mood Im in and they would say theyd whip something up to see if it fit and theyve been spot on every time. Their blended drinks are wonderful and creative, one even has cake blended in! Talk about delicious. They also have a huge variety of syrups to flavor your coffees and a huge tea selection as well. And thats just their drinks. They also have a nice menu of around 10ish items that are all delicious, and then a display of baked goods that are equally amazing. The atmosphere here is great and provides a great place to study or relax with friends.

I had a hankering for a spot of tea and scones. Carpe Diem made it so, and then some! Walking in, the atmosphere is relaxing with soft lighting, with many sitting areas - some tables and chairs while others were comfy chairs set up living room style. The woman helping me provided exceptional customer service by giving me recommendations (even letting me smell the tea!) and assisting me and my service dog get settled at my table. Both my tea and scone were absolutely delicious! My husband joined me after work and we both tried their BLT on a croissant, also incredibly good. Thank you Carpe Diem, Ill definitely be coming back!

The coffee was never good. I tried to enjoy a bagel breakfast sandwich multiple times bit do not like them unless the bagel is toasted. No matter how in depth I was with how I wanted my bagel to be crispy, and light brown it never was. A toasted bagel should not be cold inside. The last time I went I finally took it back and showed what o meant and got another. The idiot took the time to remake the sandwich and I was given the same undertoasted bagel. Never returning.

Best coffee shop in town! Wonderful assortment of baked goods and huge selection of drinks. They make a mean nitro cold brew coffee. I always get their blueberry muffins, which are absolutely Divine! Great spot to ready a book or talk with friends. You really cant ask for much more in coffee shop! They have comfy couches and a nice outdoor porch. Clean facilities and very nice staff.

We decided to come here for breakfast during our car ride home from Texas after reading the outstanding reviews. The reviews dont lie, this place is amazing. My iced cappuccino and breakfast sandwich were absolutely delicious. It is a BIG sandwich too; I was not expecting that. Usually when you go to coffee shops they dont give you that much food.

This is a great coffee spot with good food. The coffee doesnt have the boldness or the character of the coffee at coffee shops that Ive been to in other cities but it is probably the best youll find in Mobile. I think it just has to do with the type of bean they use. The ambiance is great and the service is very good. We come here often.

Stopped on a road trip because I spotted gluten free and dairy free treats. Super excited, but when I arrived, I didnt notice any signage. I asked and server answered, "We have fruit." Hmm. Not exactly a reason to make a special stop. Wish I had been in the mood for coffee-ish drinks though, it looks like they have amazing choices.

This is one of my favorite places in Mobile. Their coffee and other drinks are well made and their food is fresh; they have typical coffee shop prices (not too expensive and not too cheap). It has a very comfortable atmosphere and homey feel. I love coming here when its raining to have coffee and chat with a friend or to read.

Adore adore adore this place- Went there on a recommendation with a friend & we loved the coffee, the atmosphere, the decor, and the food we ordered. I went back with my nephew another time and again, wonderful. The coffee is delicious and roasted on site. Such a quaint place and local gem!
