I didnt have any luck at Borders or Barnes and Noble having a book that I wanted in stock so I thought I would give Downtowne Bookstore a call. I can order the book but preferably Id rather pick it up today. I have to say I was shocked when I called and asked if they could check their stock to see if they have "The DV Rebels Guide." Rather than just saying they would check, the clerk sounded flustered and asked if I was a student. I told her no and she then stated they only carry used books. Ok. I then said "So you dont even want to check and see if you carry it?" She then began to explain to me how the title of the book made it seem like it was a school book. Huh? Do they not like potentially getting sales? This isnt that hard to me, a potential customer politely asks you to check your inventory. If you have the item, he will purcahse it. Instead I got seeming impatience, and no attempt at answering my question. Bottom line, Ive had better customer service from shopping mall cell phone salesmen.

Love this store! They have a great selection of genres that interest me and their stock rotates more frequently than most used book stores. I have found more than a couple obscure titles that I had been keeping an eye out for there, and the harder-to-find books behind the counter resemble recommendations from the community. It is a very comfortable store, with good soft-playing music that follows you through the shelves. Childrens art work and traditional orange-crate labels decorate the walls. The prices are very affordable, and the friendly service provided by the owners makes you feel right at home. If you havent been here, then go. It is truly a store for the community. You will not be disappointed.

I found so many titles I wanted but above all I found the literature I needed for one of my English classes. At a way cheaper price than what I would have paid at school. I am going back to see what else I can find. The lady behind the counter was also very nice and informative. She helped me find the books I needed.

Ive run through this place for years. The place is a maze of books and great things to sort through. The owner is very sweet. Ive dealt with her for quite a while in life. She bought books in the past from me and we dealt with thing as friends.

I really love this place! I hadnt been in the place for a few years until the other day. I went in a fell in love! This place is the best bookstore in town! The people are so nice and the place is stock so well. Ill never go anywhere else.

I have been coming here for years. They are very friendly and helpful. Prices are great. Sorry the city made them close the downstairs and sorry about the snake getting stolen. Glad you are still here after all these years.

Lovely little bookstore that takes you back in time. Very cheerful and helpful owner who is quite knowledgeable about books. Im so glad that we stumbled onto this place when roaming around Riverside!
