When I recently visited Colorado I stopped at a giant Whole Foods in Boulder and was amazed by 5 or more nut grinders welcoming you to freshly grind up almonds, pecans, cashews, peanuts, honey roasted peanuts, and even peanuts with chocolate! I was thinking "holy crap this is amazing I didnt know Whole Foods had this!" Best of all, the almond butter was $5.99/lb, quite the steal for freshly ground almond butter. I visited this Whole Foods today in search for the nut grinders and specifically the ground almond butter. This Whole Foods only has two grinders, one for peanuts and one for almonds, but they were out of almonds. AND to top off that slight disappointment even if they did have almonds it would be freshly ground for $9.99/lb. No thank you! I was compensated, however, by a new choice of 365 brands Almond Butter, 16 oz for $4.99. Almond butter lovers I think you know that this is an AMAZING deal. tl;dr: Whole Foods in Boulder has a better selection, this Whole Foods needs to step up their game and learn a few almond buying tricks from the other one in Boulder. Still a beautiful store though and always has great samples. :)

Hot bar was empty @ 2pm said wouldnt be filled till 3. What was there was dry & hard & flys were hanging around. They should take pride in being a place Vegans like myself can come & have a hot meal yet the Vegan choices are slim to none on hot bar, deli, pizza, etc. Stopped carrying Chicago Vegan cheesecake. Just an all around awful place. Employees r rude. I asked if I could use the restroom b4 they clean it cuz I had a long drive home. The guy said "lets find out" not joking, no smile, made me uncomfortable and was rude. Its dirty. The guy making pizzas was rude as well. This is not the only time this has happened & Im not the only one I know whos had similar experiences. Dont waste ur time and definitely not ur money.

Overall I like the store and most of the workers. Some are superficial though. My worst experience has been with the tall big guy at the Fish department. I went to buy fish and was asking for clarifications regarding the different classification and he behaved like he had better things to do than talking to this not-so rich black woman, which is me. He was blatantly rude - rolling his eyes and huffing and puffing! Would not buy any fish from there. Come on... the fish and meat are so expensive to begin with. Youd think theyd be friendly enough to have people buy the fish so they dont have to sell stale fish the following day. Someone better talk to that guy. His attitude stinks! I dont mean the fish!

The store is not what it used to be. Generous samples of yore are gone. Much of the produce is not very fresh, which can be explained by the fact that there are cheaper alternatives for organic produce now (Did somebody say Trader Joes?), so the stuff stays on the shelves longer. Bakery has also taken a turn for the worse. Baguettes are of the cardboard variety, and somebody should tell these guys that croissants are not breakfast rolls with horns - its a different kind of dough. On the other hand, pastry and cakes are still very good, and the meat department still delivers. On the whole, forgive the unintentional pun, as organic food becomes more mainstream, Whole Foods is just not a good value anymore.

We have shopped at WFM for years but have been repeatedly upset by how the treat autistics. Just a few days ago my autistic son waited his turn at the deli only to be completely ignore not asked if he needed help or anything the deli worker acted like he wasnt even there despite my wife trying to get him to wait on our son and hes 200lbs near 6ft. We mentioned to the manager he was rude and dismissive despite evidence of this happening on security system. If you love someone with a disability consider this review when shopping at WFM. No apology no correction of behavior just condescending and belittling conversation with management. Sad that this still happens today and in Madison of all places.

The only downside is that this is an expensive place to buy staples. Great meat and fish counters - my only complaint is they wont put in a numbering system for when its busy. I find myself occasionally stepping into the role of counter bouncer, ensuring people are served in the order they arrived (until I have my turn, at least) - doesnt happen often, but it does happen. Having said that, the staff are very friendly, and generally really know their products well and have great suggestions for preparation. The cashier lines move quickly and theyre good about opening new lines when its crowded.

Some great products including beautiful (but expensive) produce, however overall I continue to be disappointed. The latest example: The store is littered with different ways to "save" including the Whole Foods App that takes your personal info and generates a scannable "coupon". You get to the register and they need to scan the coupon from your phone, but in my case the scanner wouldnt work and the checkout person couldnt have cared less. "Just keep trying. Flip your phone that way, this way." Question: "Can you just key in the code?" A: "No." Finally I just gave up and walked out.

I do like Whole Foods when I am in the mood to make a new dish for a special night. I can find wonderful cheese and wine, vegitarian options, organic meats and fish, as well as produce that I cant always find else where. Also if you like to make your own tea, youll love the bulk section. However I would never shop at Whole Foods for my weekly hawl...I would need to take a second job. They also need to move to a larger building, I always feel cramped. Unless you can afford twice the price its only good for special dinners/events and if you have a unique ingredient in a new dish.

This store needs a staff overhaul! Service has declined, and rude, uncaring, unprofessional attitudes have become the norm. My family, including two people with serious medical conditions, were treated horribly by the staff last weekend. I have seen other families with special needs talked down to and treated poorly at this store, and the quality of service at this location has diminished steadily over time. I truly hope that someone in Whole Foods corporate will read this review and give this store the shakedown that it requires.

Needed items there today, and the staff was exceedingly rude and unhelpful. A family member was having medical problems and asked for assistance, only to be told "we dont do that here anymore" - no, I"m not kidding. This store needs major staff changes. We will be seeking other stores to shop at from now on. Wish I could leave lower feedback than this.

This is my go to place for my vegan items. They have a huge collection of stuff and it is fun shopping here. I buy my essential oils from here which turned out to be authentic than the ones I used to take from walgreens. You can also find a lot of natural cosmetics here. I see brands that I do not find in sephora or ulta. I would recommend this place!

I dont understand why people support this store when Madison has So many amazing co-ops!! Went here first time in 3 years and it was the most disappointing shopping trip. People forget their manners when they walk in this store. Food selection ok, not great. Co-ops are the places conscious shoppers SHOULD BE SUPPORTING
