Let me start off by saying that a grocery store is NOT the place for dogs, or animals of any kind, for that matter. The other day I witnessed a small dog in a grocery cart in the checkout line behind me, I watched that dog jump out of the cart, and onto the grocery conveyor. I did not see the cashier clean the conveyor afterwards, either. Dont get me wrong, I love dogs, but I dont bring my dog inside the grocery store! I know dogs step in, and sometimes eat "doggy doo"... How sanitary is it to allow dogs inside a grocery cart, not to mention on the grocery conveyor? I complained about the incident to the people at the managers counter, and was told that they do allow "Medical Dogs" in the store. Really??? And how do they distinguish the difference between a "Medical Dog", and a "Yard Dog"??? I have seen dogs on leashes in Rouses before, but now I wonder how many of them have hiked their legs, and peed on the lower shelves???

Great selection of good produce and meat cut to order most hours of the day. Great yummies and custom cakes from the bakery, high quality cut to order cold cuts, and some of the friendliest sushi folks youll ever meet. Chronically understaffed and poorly managed in several departments, but the majority of employees generally try their best to keep customers happy. Socially responsible/ local products are becoming less available, particularly in the meat market (read--Tyson chicken vs Sanderson farms).

As a grocery store they are great, lots of items you cannot find anywhere else on the coast. We went there for Halo Top icecream, they are the only local grocery store that carries it. However, I brought my potty-training toddler to the bathroom and was disgusted. It was so nasty we didnt even wash our hands because I thought that we would get more germs in the attempt, thankfully I had some sanitizer!

This is really the best grocery option in OS. The alternatives are Winn Dixie or Walmart. Rouses usually has really good fresh vegetables and fruits, seafood, meat and a pretty good beer selection, which is everything I need! They get 3 stars of the longer than usual wait times at the checkout!

The great thing is the people are nice very courteous will show you where your item is that youre looking for the prices vary to which you can handle in your budget its amazing what you can buy it has all aspects Seafood sushi amazingly awesome I give it combined check it out you be amazed

Rouses has a nice great selection. They also carry locally grown produce which is a plus. Huge beer selection, cold bar, house made items, but they are overall on the more expensive side so I dont shop here as much.

Really a nice change from the usual chain grocery stores. A combination of an Italian market and Cajun / New Orleans food selections. Definitely shopping at them while in their territory.

This is a great market with a nice atmosphere. The employees are friendly and helpful and always provide a good experience. It isnt too overpriced and they seem to always have good sales.

The meat & seafood departments are awesome! Sandwich meats roasted in house. Local shrimp steamed while you wait with whatever seasoning you can dream of (also live lobster).

Its a nice store. The prices are a bit high but it beats having to fight crowds at Walmart. I do wish the check out aisles were wider. The buggy barely fits in it.
