Considering there are many local residents who eat organic, not to mention vegetarian and vegan, it is disappointing, and surprising, that the Shepherdstown Food Lion carry a very small and uninspired selection of such foods. Compared to other supermarkets such as Weis, Martins and Aldie, their selection is very poor, including prices. I know they would do far more business if they did more creative buying. I know I would shop there far more than I do.

I shop this market whenever I can. The staff is wonderful and friendly. There is only one item that they do not stock, but I just have it shipped, so not a big deal. Some of the products I purchase are a bit more expensive than Walmart, but for the most part, they are quite competitive and always have wonderful sales.

You would think that Shepherdstown would have a better Grocery Store given that it is a fairly progressive town. This Grocery store has zero to very little options as far as organic produce or food. They dont even have conveyor belts for your groceries! Take me back to 1980, would you?

The store used to be better run with more experienced employees however these days you find mostly young kids working in the store and not experienced or trained at all in customer service
