This place is so unprofessional!! They think you like to waste your time! On Friday my sister had a return and a purchase. The cashier asked me if she wanted to put the purchase toward the return UMMMMM DUH!!! That is all she asked my while my sister went to find something. She put the remaining balance on a gift card. Who does that??? I thought she just made a mistake and was trying to fix it which took at least fifteen minutes! Then she proceeded to blame me and said I told her it was ok to do that!! UMMMM NO you dont call me a liar! That is the last thing you want to do! I am a pretty calm person but you dont call me a liar! So I called her out on it right away! She looked like she was going to come across the counter at me. Like I said really unprofessional!!! Well yesterday I went back like an idiot!! I bought 90 dollars worth of merchandise. I came home with half because the cashier didnt hand it to me. So I have to go back in today waste my gas to go get it! Isnt that GREAT!! I will try my best NOT to return to this TJ Maxx which will suck because it is about the only decent store in Martinsburg!!!

I shop at the Martinsburg TJ Maxx often and find the clerks and staff to be friendly, helpful, and patient. After reading one of the reviews on this page that was so negative all I can say is that everyone has an off day. The clerks most likely are only paid minimum wage and I think they do a fantastic job dealing with the public and all the personalities they deal with every hour of every day. I sure hope that the person who wrote the review calling them unprofessional can find it in her soul to be more forgiving and kind the next time there is a mix up or misunderstanding with a clerk. Its not like retail therapy is a matter of life and death. Its a privilege to be able to spend money on things we want. I love TJ Maxx and have never had a bad experience shopping there.
