Sorry I went in today. I purchased 20 packets of seeds for gardening. They had a small selection of Organic and 2 Heirlooms. I asked the young lady at the front counter if Organic would yield seeds I could harvest next year. She didnt know and said the girl who did was getting off her shift. I purchased the Organics and went to another business in where some friends were. They told me the Organics would not yield like the Heirlooms. I decided to return the seeds so went back in. I was not well-received. :) When the return was being completed, I thanked them for taking care of the return then thanked this young lady when she handed me back my money. Her response? A short curt "Yep." LOL! This store staff has never been very friendly. They were even less friendly today. Ill not be going back. Shrug!

First off I have never reviewed anything, but my experience with this place this morning was shockingly terrible. Rowena deserves to be singled out as one of the worst people that I have ever been forced to deal with as a member of the purchasing public. If she had just answered an exceedingly simple question " what time does the DMV window open?" then I wouldnt be posting this, and I would still be a returning customer to this store. She maintains a level of contempt for anyone who has the misfortune of asking her that question I know this from her explanation as to why she was so rude her reasoning was that she gets asked that question all day. So what, Queen rowena, get a different job if you look at the public as a constant source of annoyance.

I got a 3/8 in extension piece. Didnt use it, brought it back with a receipt and was told he cant take tools back. I told the guy behind the counter (Luu, after reading other comments it makes sense.) that it wasnt a tool, its an accessory. The tool is the socket wrench I attach it to, the drive in itself is useless without the socket wrench. He started walking off and repeated that it was a tool. By dictionary standards its not a tool, its an accessory. Ace is over priced, the service here is awful. It took me 10 minutes just to buy the damn thing, and the idiots here dont know the difference between tools and tool accessories. At least let me exchange it for something useful you incompetent asshats.

I shopped here because it was close to home but each time I go in there I keep hoping it will be my last. The owner is rude and has zero clue what customer service means. His kids or relatives look sad and uninterested in any form of pleasantries or general human contact....BUT I just found out that Parkrose hardware just opened a large location in hazel dell one exit south of this place off I-5....my prayers have been answered as I will NEVER set foot in this Ace Hardware again. Parkrose has much better selection and it wont be much trouble to get to. Best of luck Ace....Im free

This Ace is the unhelpful place!. I needed help and noticed the owner behind the rear door. I asked for help he ingnored me, I asked again and he told me I needed to walk up to the front or the store for help. I guess he doesnt realize he works in retail and he must have also forgotten that he had a walkie-talkie and could easily call someone to help me, I had to remind him of that. He did call for help, which is why I gave an extra star. Even so it left me with a negative impression. Please remember customers keep your doors open and we just want to be helped and not hindered.

Never done this but I have a hateful amount of dislike towards the store manager. I go in every once in awhile but the only reason Ill be going in anymore is for the dmv. The store manager/co-owner told me "you know we have you on camera" he told me this after I was simply opening up a box with garden sheers and nicely putting them back. I was sort of taken back by his accusation. In his defense I am young but regardless thats no way to treat a customer especially after purchasing paint from pickled fart that day.

This is a small store but packs a lot of hardware and supplies in it for plumbing, painting, electrical, lighting, etc. Plus they have a huge selection of nuts and bolts which you can purchase by the piece. At some point in my visit I am always asked if I need help or if I found what I needed. The staff always knows where something is. The prices are definately reasonable so I have no need to run the distance and wrangle the warehouse of a big box store, I like this place.

I purchased a tool at this location. It broke on me the same morning. I tried to bring it in and explain that its a defected clamp. But I was sent away saying that they cant do anything about it. Try coming back when the owner will be in. When is the owner in? They dont know. So apparently you have to talk to the owner before anything can be done and no one knows when owner will be around. Very bad customer service, Ill drive across town rather go in there again.

Garden shop has all kinds of sale sign, both plants and pottery, but it was locked up. I went around to tore and ask and was very rudely answered that yes it was closed and no they wont open it. I ask about the pottery, they said everything was outside the store, well there were a few plants , but nothing like the Garden shop in back. It really didnt make sense, but I will never go back. Very rude, with an I dont care attitude

I brought in an item to return, I had the item and the receipt. My wife had bought it the day before. My wife had used her debit card, it has a different number from mine .... they would not give me my money back, they said I had to show the exact card number.. .. Now my wife will have to use her time to return this item . I was told if I had used cash, than they could return cash to me ... I am not happy ##$#%

I have visited the Salmon Creek Ace Hardware several times since it opened and found the staff to be extremely helpful and knowledgeable not to mention it carried everything I needed for my backyard project as well as a few interior issues I have had to deal with. So much better then the huge stores that you walk around forever and then walk out with nothing! I will be back for sure!

Insulting owner, Ive been shopping here for years because of their convenient location and selection, but not anymore! I bought a clematis from them and it died within two weeks despite TLC. I stopped by to ask if their plants were guaranteed like most nurseries. The owner didnt just say no; he commented that I had to care for them to keep them alive!

With the advent of HiSchool Pharmacy coming back to Vancouver, and a new Ace Hardware opening next door, I inquired if our Salmon Creek Ace Hardware would "price match" the HiSchool ads? Sorry, they said they wouldnt be able to do that. Nor would they "price match" Bi Mart ads. Looks like they would rather lose customers, than dollars.
