If I need a lot of lumber or a large ticket item, I usually go to a big box hardware store, but if I am trying to fix something and need help figuring out what part to order, Gig Harbor Ace is definitely the place Ill go. There are plenty of knowledgeable sales people who will take the time to help me get what I need. They have a large selection and are conveniently located.

A great, neighborhood hardware store. Super helpful staff offering the type of service you absolutely will not find at the orange (or blue) big box equivalents. This is a hardware store, not a home improvement outfit... But as a regular joe, Im usually more in the market to fix a gate or buy a drill bit than to need heavy-duty building supplies.

I dont normally shop at Ace stores but this one has come in quite handy. Everyone is always friendly and helpful. Most of the employees are around retirement age and they have all gone out of their way to help me when I needed it. This store really has a small town kind of family vibe.

Very good advice, and they dont BS you with answers in order to get you to buy something you do not need. I nearly always go there vice the big box "Waste-of-Time" store. A very well run store with excellent buyers, and helpful staff.

They usually have the item, but be prepared to be tested on your patience. It constantly feels like you are going back to the 1950s because everything slows down and no one is in a hurry. Helpful staff if you can find someone

Cashiers are nice and great location, but the customer service people are grumpy and appear to only want to help you if you are their peer (over 70). Otherwise good luck getting any questions answered.
