We were so excited to hear Sonic was coming to Tacoma! Finally got a chance to go but was so disappointed!! The service and food were equally deplorable - like, unbelievably bad. We chalked the experience up to new store/staff, etc and maybe another time would be better. That was when the store 1st opened in maybe 2010 or 11? Ran errands all day today and decided itd be a good evening to stop in and grab a quick bite. Hot dogs, to be exact. Ok: trying to order over the speaker was a challenge at best. Connection kept slipping in and out which I thought would prompt the employee to either "call us back" or give up and come to our vehicle. Nope, she didnt. We reestablished connection each time until our 2 hotdog combo orders w/drinks was complete. I got the NY dog which was cold; the bun was so saturated w/sauerkraut juice that I couldnt pick it up. The fries were undercooked; cold and mealy. This food is not good, at all, and Im not being picky - Ill eat at McDs so fast food is not the issue. The issue is the staff is untrained and the food is not actually "prepared", if that makes sense. We ordered 2 fruit slushees - he pineapple, me strawberry. Have you ever tried to suck a whole strawberry thru a straw? Not happening. 5 seconds with a blender may have made it, at least, palatable. We wont go back. Theres always a handful of cars at this place. Im starting to think they allow employees to park in the customer spots so as to appear busy. And therefore successful. Not falling for it again. Poke us with a fork, cuz unlike Sonic food, were done.

I went through the drive in & got the tater tots w Chilli for my son & I we came home & went to eat it it was half way full called & talked to the so called manager michelle she told me I could get my money back & would give me 2 free meals so I was ok w it (mind u we got the most expensive one thinking more for the $ lol that was a joke) well anyways so we ate the food & we both got sick I did tell them they were suppose to call me to do a report its been 2 weeks & still havent heard from them .... well needless to say I went to go get my $ back w recipient & the manager working on shift said that Michelle wasnt the manager & she has no right telling me that I would get my $ back thats not their policy this company is a total rip off they give u very little when u ask for more we should of jus got the smallest & cheaper one becuz thats what we got but paid full price well almost 16$ later its a learning experience we will not & I have told my family & friends ever eat here again!! Unhappy & they lost a customer that ate here often!!

I love to go to Sonic anytime I get the chance, but this particular one they have servers on roller skates the ordering menus that you pull into are so easy even if you have to change an order. Everybody that , either we spoke to or actually delivered our food to us were gracious, customer oriented and eager to please. We tipped our car hop, were not rich people & we dont get to go very often, but they do such a good job there I could not leave WITHOUT leaving a tip! They even came back to our car to see if we needed anything at all i.e. (something else for our food if it didnt taste quite right, extra straws, napkins, condiments) Plus this is not usually a quiet area but for us we were there at 5 in the afternoon on a Thursday and it was awesome. If you live there go! If you happen to be at Tacoma General Hospital or Allenmore Hospital this place will truly improve your mood! Special kudos to the African-American Young lady that helped us! Skates & all!! She should definitely get a gold star for the day ⭐⭐

Let me start by saying I am from Texas, where sonic is everywhere. So I have been to numerous locations. I in fact love Sonic. But not this one. There is anything be in Tacoma way better. This one is horrible. I have been a few times thinking maybe it was a busy day. Nope doesnt matter if the weather is nice and the ae packed or raining and they have a small amount of customers. Drive thru or pull up they are incredibly slow. Two times they were out of different foods and beverages. Every time we have went I had to ask for nspkins. They gave us none. And we needed them since the cups were covered in the beverage or ice cream. Also the floor of the inside you can see through drive thru window. Is so nasty. Every time we have gone. Sadly we will not be returning. I gave them multiple shots and nope. This Sonic gives others a bad impression.

Service is HORRIBLE!! Stopped by on New Years Eve, the gal disconnected the line on me because she was frustrated and couldnt figure out the menu on her end. (I was only trying to order drinks for 3 kids.) I had to go inside the building to place my order. Then, this evening, we waited 10 minutes after we pushed the call button to place an order, but left because nobody picked up and the drive thru line had a huge line. Wasnt about to waste more time waiting!! Such a shame, I grew up in the Midwest with Sonics everywhere and never have had such horrible service as this one. DONT waste your time.

I really love the sonics Ive been to in Oklahoma but this one is not my favorite. The machines break down and they never get them fixed, for instance the milkshake machine, the bun warmer, etc. The staff are nice but seem to have little control over these matters... Ive also enjoyed many a milkshakes there but recently they have gotten blander and blander... The eating area is clean but the heaters for the winter time are often broken, for loooooong periods of time. Hopefully these will get addressed soon because I do honestly like Sonics food :-) (Best ones Ive been to were in OK and Texas)

So glad to have a Sonic nearby. While their food is alright, its all about the drinks here. I often go in for an Ocean Water which I learned about at another location. Its simply the best thing in my opinion. If you go in before 4pm they have them for half off! Now the service here does take quite a bit of time compared to my other experiences. Still they wear skates! I mean who does that any more. I think its awesome. I thought all of them did that but the other ones Ive been to do not. So I just assumed it was a liability thing. But sure enough they do have skater staff here!

Went through drive thru. Ordered a chicken sandwich with pickles only. Was given a dried up cold chicken sandwich with mayomese tomato and lettuce. Ordered popcorn chicken. Asked for bbq sauce and ranch. I was rang up for 2 BBQ to go with nuggets and charged .20 cents more for the ranch. Only received 2 ranch. If I had not been so tired I would have returned the order. The cashier was not attentive and whenever I tried to ask a question she was spaced out. Another worker had to get her attention. Not a great experience and do not know when , if ever I will go back.
