This is one of my favorite places in Seattle to go when it comes to pamper my sweet tooth. Their Our Strawberry flavor is creamy and fresh, and perhaps my favorite one to have on a waffle cone. When I want to get a little bit more than just a serving of custard, I order a "Ryans Drizzle", which features vanilla custard with an espresso shot (like an affogato). Its a perfect way to end a dinner date night. A fairly unknown but deliciously simple offering here is the Concrete. Its texture is similar to a blizzard but a little firmer. My husband Ryan always orders an Oreo Concrete and I indulge on a Strawberry one.

Friendly casual place with great creamy custard Ice creams. Would be five stars but for a few things: they seem to have chocolate, vanilla, and a flavor of the day, and focus on turning them into sundaes, sandwiches, etc. Thats ok, but the few flavors should be perfect in that case. We had vanilla and it could have used a bit more extract. It was rich though, and the texture was PERFECT for the root beer float we selected: soft but not melting. They also offer a choice of root beer which was nice. Id go back, expecting an ice cream concoction, rather than the cone I set out for.

When it comes to frozen treats, Im a huge fan of frozen custard. Theres something about adding eggs to food that makes it, sing. Yes, sing. The flavors at Old School arent just run of the mill either. Sure they have chocolate, vanilla and strawberry, but they have apple strudel, orange creamsicle, and chocolate peanut butter cup too. My friend and I shared a small apple strudel which had all the makings of a pastry yet in frozen custard form. It tasted fresh, cinnamon-y, and oh-so-delicious. They are open late too so you can have that late dessert if youre so inclined.

The lines were long last night as the temperatures crept up close to one hundred yet again, but the wait was worth it. The flavors were unique and complex, with a home-made freshness. I was pleased to find that a single scoop which was plent can include two flavors. The root beer was a surprise hit - really tingly. And the cracked caramel was a nice balance of bitter, salty and sweet. Next time I might just have a kiddie cone - still as big as a single scoop in most of Europe! And with flavors this intensely interesting and tasty, all I might really need.

Despite any downsides (and there are a few), I love this place. Parking can be tough at night when all the hipsters are out, long lines, not enough staff, etc. Ive had some of their shakes with more ingredients, but I really like the custard on its own. The shakes with added junk distract from delicious simplicity of the custard. The specials are worth checking out on the calendar on their website before you go. The staff have been slammed with orders every time Ive been in, but never mess up and are friendly and attentive.

Frozen custard is THE superior frozen treat, and Old School is the superior maker of it. My parents and I used to go to Peaks, but after it closed, we finally found this place and its even better. Their custard is insanely smooth and richly flavorful. All of the sundaes/combos are delicious, as is the custard on its own. And as far as Seattle food prices go, its quite reasonable. (I dont usually rave about things or write food reviews, but I had to show up for Old School. I drive all the way from Sammamish for this stuff!!)

The daily flavors are so unique and tasty! You can conveniently find them on their website. The custard is super good by itself and all the concretes and sundaes and cookie sandwiches are awesome too. So hard to choose what to get and so hard not to go here all the time! They also have a solid rewards program, which gives you a free item (a few options as to what this is, theyre pretty generous in my opinion) every so many orders. And they deliver now too! But not late at night, so be warned.

I LOVE FROZEN CUSTARD! My husband is from St. Louis, the home of Ted Drewes frozen custard....so Im spoiled when it comes to what Ive tried. I dont know why theres not more in the area. Frozen custard has a higher butterfat content than ice cream and is richer. It is soft served - typically in a sundae or "concrete" (think DQ Blizzard - with the flavours whirled in and you understand). My favourite is caramel, pretzels and chocolate concerete. A large is about $6. Heaven!!

THIS PLACE. Oh, man. My fantastic friend Jon R. demanded that I go here, so of course I had to oblige. WA isnt much of an ice cream town, but thats a-ok for my waistline. But Old School Frozen Custard. I will throw my diet out the window every day for this. Great quality ingredients that play out into whimsical, creative, delicious, interesting flavors. I had the "better than..." ice cream and you know what? It is better than. WAY better than.

We love custard so of course, we had to swing by and give this place a try. If you love ice cream, youll love frozen custard - its totally delicious. Theres a limited range of regular flavours plus some daily specials, it was Butterfinger Crunch the day we went and it was seriously good. There are also sundaes and a plethora of ways to pimp up your frozen dessert. This place has a relaxed vibe and staff are super friendly.

My kinda joint! Simple, classic amazing goods with some creative twists. Base flavors made every day with a special. Some great combos on the board and an ok price for quality product! Any brownie/chocolate combination is a win here in my book! Creamy goodness! They are also now partnered with a local cookie place so fresh cookies or custard cookie sammies available anytime! OMG

Walking in I was not sure what to expect. I have had my fair share of desserts in my life, from your usual cold stone creamery to your off the wall pastry shops. Old School Frozen Custard blew me away with the customer service(Natalie was super friendly) I have never had a frozen treat like they make here, mind blown away I will be back every Thursday........

This is by far the best ice cream Ive ever had! Dont let the name of "custard" fool you- this is a MUST HAVE ice cream. And not only is the food great (they serve real Nathans hotdogs, authentic Chicago dogs, and chili as well as the ice cream), the staff is super friendly and the store is clean. Great place for the family, and a welcome addition to First Hill!

This place is awesome... Very family friendly and the staff is very nice and willing to let you taste test. The best thing on the menu is the recess... Its a brownie Sunday with whatever custard you want. The custard is on point and if I didnt gain 5lbs every time I came here I would come here weekly!

Great frozen custard, interesting concoctions, and open quite late, I have no complaints with Old School. Only reason I can see to give this one a miss is if you dont like frozen custard, and even then there is at least coffee for the late nights and oatmeal for the mornings.

Possibly one of the best frozen custard places in all of Seattle! The inventive and ever changing seasonal flavors paired with the friendly staff makes this a neighborhood favorite. Be warned: some of the flavors are so popular they will routinely sell out!
