This past summer my husband and I were shopping for wedding bands. It was particularly difficult in my case, as I have a tattoo that needed to be covered on my ring finger, but because of my profession I cannot wear something over the top. I found what I believed to be the perfect ring online-it was identical to my tattoo, but I wanted to try it on in the store to make sure it was sized appropriately and covered everything. The first time I went into the store they didnt have it, but claimed they could order it after a half an hour of describing to them what it was, giving them the model number listed on THEIR website, and finally pulling the website up on my phone because they couldnt figure out how to navigate the website on their computer. They wrote my information down and said it would be in in two weeks for me to try on and they would call me. Two weeks passed. No call. I went into the store and gave my name. No one had any recollection of my previous visit, in spite of me watching them write down all the information. No order was placed for that style (which I again had to pull up a picture of on my phone because they couldnt find the style on their website.) This time the wrote my information down again, and I was handed a business card with the name of the person who helped me. I waited. I called twice in the coming weeks asking for the man who had served me (and given me his business card). Each time I had to explain to him who I was and what I was looking for. I even went in the store and asked for him, face to face he had no recollection of me, and no one could find record of my request. I should have walked away right then, but it was *THE* ring, so I was persistent. Finally, 3 weeks before my wedding it came in...in the wrong size...and in yellow gold instead of white gold. I was told a rush order for a white gold in the proper size would take 6 weeks, and cost $300 more!! Ridiculous.Needless to say I walked out without the ring. I will never go to the Jewelry Exchange again.

I just wanted to take a minute to tell you about my horrible experience with Jewelry Exchange in Renton. In September prior to our November 3rd wedding we ordered a band for me. They did not have the proper size in stock, and the estimated delivery date was close to the wedding. We paid in full for it at that time, with some showing as a deposit, some on a borrowed ring that was a little small. When the wedding came, no ring, which we understood, three weeks after the wedding, still no ring, not so cool but it finally came in. We picked it up and at that time were told additional money was owed. This upset me because when we had originally paid I asked the sales person AND manager who were helping us if this was paid in full, they said yes. I finally got tired of arguing with the manager and paid it. Then it gets worse. On the way home we noticed the ring had multiple defects, it looked terrible. The next morning I headed back, when I arrived, no apology, no let’s make this right, nothing. After disappearing with the ring she returned telling me all she could do was send it back. I asked if she could order a new one and let me wear the one I had? No. I asked if I could have the old wrong size one until she got one in, No was her answer. I asked for my money back, since three weeks after my wedding, still no wedding ring, again a no. I sent an email to their corporate contact, no response. Weeks later I finally got it, and the woman actually had the nerve to tell Judy the replacement was 75 buck more but out of the kindness of her heart she wouldn’t charge us! I ordered in September, did not get it until January, over two months AFTER I got married. The bottom line is everyone was nice until they had MY money.

We had done enough homework to realize we were very limited as to budget while shopping for engagement ring. We had additional requirement of 18k gold. We got just over half a caret solitaire on a basic 18k gold setting for just over 1k$. We compared similar rings for over two and some closer to three thousand at other stores. Granted they may have been of better quality under the microscope. To me the stone was very pretty and sparkly and could see no difference. Grading is somewhat subjective so comparing numbers is a guide only. The store front and interior were clean and odor free. There had been negative reviews on this issue. Either the problem was resolved or bad press. The staff (also odor free) was professional answering all questions and also trying to optimize our purchase. The displays were large and well lit with a wide variety. The stone was set the same day and ready for us after lunch. I would advise to shop the other stores and be familiar with your budget, likes and dislikes, and the competitive prices. Then go to the exchange. So far my honey is happy and the finger not green. Also sometimes reviews are written by the owners mother or even competitors. I am just a normal customer with absolutely no ties to this establishment. We are engaged and happy.

My fiancee and I have just returned from making another purchase from The Jewelry Exchange in Renton/Seattle. This was our fourth purchase and like the others, it was 100% positive. The staff, including Kayla, Sandra and Brenda, the Mgr., were a joy to deal with, every time. While the store is not fancy, the quality of the products and the service are top shelf. The two jewelers that do adjustments, etc., are also very solid in their abilities. We live in Canada and always look forward to visiting this store and the great people that are very good at customer service showing patience and knowledge during important purchases. Well done Renton Jewelry Exchange! C. Turner

I went here with my husband to upgrade the center stone in my wedding band. When I went in the first time they did not have the type of loose diamond I was looking for, however, Sandra took down my information and said she would let me know when they got something in that matched my criteria. After two weeks I got a phone call and came back to look at the options. The staff was very helpful and showed me several different loose stones to make sure that I was getting what I wanted. They were honest about the stones qualities and were also very low pressure sales people, which is refreshing.

This store is so full of false advertising. The diamonds they show on their commercials are large, beautiful and white. However, when I went to in, twice, asking to see a 2 carat white solitaire for the price I saw onTV, they showed me small, brown, ugly, very included stones! I have never been so disappointed in my life. Not only that, they acted as if I was bothering them when I wanted to see more stones I didnt like the ugly brown stones they were showing me. Very disappointing, considering all their tv ads showing big, pretty, white, clean diamonds.
