Going to Wal-Mart for anything is not normally something I would do, due to their poor business ethics. I went because I had a Wal-Mart gift certificate that would allow me to buy new glasses which I couldnt afford otherwise and absolutely needed - mine were essential, and broken! I was pleasantly surprised with the high quality of customer service and cleanliness of the Vision Center. The front-office staff were patient, kind, and helpful. My eyes seemed to be improving quickly at the time, and my new prescription was weaker than I had needed in years. When I picked up my glasses I seemed to need an even weaker prescription in one lens. The staff had it replaced at no additional cost. Of course, the doctor held what seems to be the typical optometrists opinion that ones ability to see without glasses is not improvable - that isnt true! My sight has improved in the last three years since I changed to a raw vegan, gluten free, low-glycemic diet, especially in the last year since doing some liver cleansing. I am speaking from perceptual experience, not quantifiable testing. I no longer have the headaches and various types of eyestrain I used to have constantly, and I can focus better when I take my glasses off, especially at certain times of the day. Several friends have had improvement in their vision as they improved other health issues and/or used vision therapy techniques. Other than these 2 items, then, I was please with the experience: 1) hearing this opinion from yet another optometrist (Ive met a number through the years) who has not informed him/herself about alternative therapies and the connection between other parts of health and vision, and 2) supporting Wal-Marts labor and ethics policies and practices including buying and selling cheap goods cheaply and contributing to slavery-like labor practices within and outside the US (theres plenty of documentation. Read "Nobodies" by John Bowe, if youre interested. Its old news, but youll find the info if you look.) Im working with a vision therapist now.

I was speaking to the vision center over the phone, when the woman hung up on me. She said that I could not pay with my HSA Card, that she was certain because shes been there 9 years and its never once been acceptable... yet I have been buying contacts at walmart since I was in high school using the same HSA card. I said "thank you, and..." she said youre welcome and hung up on me mid sentence. I think she was frustrated with me asking her if she was absolutely positive they didnt accept HSA cards, because she fancied herself the authority on the matter, and questioning that with an "are you sure can you check" made her upset. Very poor CS over the phone, and she said she was the head of the department, so I guess Ill be using a different walmart, unfortunate as this is the closest.

I went and got an eye exam, and the Dr. was super friendly. I told him that I always jump at the air test, and told him that I always get kinda scared with it. He talked to me through the whole air test and made it fun, that time I didnt even jump with the air went off. The front desk ladys were super friendly, since I cant see without my glasses they helped me chose a pair of glasses that looked very nice on me. They even took pictures of me wearing them so I could see how they looked. I have gone to Americas best in the past to get my glasses. I can say that I will always go back to Walmart because of the friendly staff!

I went here and it must have been the time of day; no other customers. So my eye exam in the doctors office lasted about 2 twice as long as previous ones in the past. The Doctor was very pleasant and took his time, 1/2 way through he was asking what I could see - the 5th and 6th lines, he said no one could see the 8th line. More time running through different lenses and wolla he asked me to read the 6th line and I said lets use the 7th and afterwards I said let me guess the 8th line I could make out over half the letters. The staff was very nice as well, and I will definitely return.

Walmart Vision center Made an appointment for my 4 year old to get new glasses. Asian lady put letters on the wall. I let her know my daughter doesnt know the alphabet yet and she said well I cant do the exam. She said she refused to give out faulty prescriptions. I was definetly mad. My daughter has glasses already and was given an eye exam at 3 years old. So for her to waste our time because my daughter "doesnt know the alphabet" is beyond ridiculous. Many children wear glasses and are given a pirscription without the use of the alphabet on the wall. I dont recommend this place at all.

I understand they dont have what Im looking for, but why be so rude and inhospitable about it? I would have ordered contacts through them but I couldnt get past the cold shoulder I was given. They didnt have what I was looking for. NO PROBLEM. Many places didnt. Other places were also friendly and helpful in getting me the answer I was looking for. Walmart was more interested in getting me off the phone.

I avoid walmart like the plague. But this was a good, fast, cheap eye exam. They werent rude. The optnomoitrist here is a real doctor and acts punctually. Not rude at all. Average walmart customers will rate this place a 1, because.. well.. theyre WalMart customers.

Worst customer service both times I was there! Hire people that actually care about the customers!
