The Gentleman Farmer

Ive been in the word of cycling a very long time; racing completively at an elite level. I have had my share of mechanics. The owner is world-class, honest and loves the profession. A shop of this caliber is a rare find; even more rare for such a small island community. This shop carries everything from casual cruisers to elite bikes. Their rental bikes are manacurd and maticulously maintained. Best of all, the owner/operator is a master mechanic, having served as a wrench for some the the US elite teams. What a find.

My boyfriend and I loved riding Gina and Francisco around the island (our bicycles even had their names written on them). The bikes were in great shape and made the 20 mile bike ride up and down those hills much more manageable. The person who rented us our bikes was awesome- we had a great conversation, and she gave us really great advice about biking around the island. She was so accommodating and let us pick up and drop off the bikes after the store was closed. It was a great way to see the beautiful island.

My husband and I visited the island on holiday and stumbled across this gem of a store. While I was sceptical about riding a bicycle for the first time in 30 years, the friendly and super helpful owner, Seth, dispelled any worries. He gave us loads of information about things to see, answered all my silly questions and really helped a couple of oldies feel at ease. We were so impressed we bought ourselves Cannondale bikes when we we returned home and have a new lease on life. Thanks Seth, youre the best!

I rented a road bike to do a long ride on the mainland. Sean took my measurements by email and had the bike ready for me when I arrived. Did a 92 mile ride (up Chuckanut, recommended), and it felt like I was riding my bike at home. I really appreciated his attention to the details. The bike had a pump, a spare tube, a lightweight lock and a tire lever. Last but not least, it is clear that Sean loves bikes. The location is a bit out of the way, but I highly recommend a visit.

This shop is the best, most fun bike shop to shop in and visit. If you need a top notch bicycle mechanic, Seth Cox is your man. He carries a wide variety of very nice Cannondale bikes. Ive purchased my carbon fiber road bike from last summer and just love it. And more recently purchased a Cannondale fat caad also. Very very happy with both experiences.

Hidden away in a shopping center frequented by locals so it takes a little to find it, but man!! GREAT bikes, good rates and a nice guy to deal with. Fully stocked shop too. Worth the hunt to find it. Ask a local for directions to Meat Machine Bikes in Surina Center.
