Went in today to make a return and buy a bunch of other supplies for my zoo we call a house. My wife and daughter went to get the stuff we needed while I made the return. When we walked in the store, the cashier "Angelica" was leaning across the counter with her hands supporting her head. When I walked up to the counter, she did not bother standing up, or even acknowledge I had walked up to the counter. I told her that I needed to make a return..... Now a big exhale and the questions : whats wrong with it? and "I dont suppose you have a receipt? Wow.. Really? I responded there is nothing wrong with it. Well why are you returning it then?..... Now..... We have all heard its not what they said, its the way they said it. I dont know how to convey just how snotty the tone was, lets just say it took me back a bit. I just looked at my wife with a confused, am I really experiencing the kind of horrible customer service???? I simply told her we found another cage that suited us better. Now keep Im mind, this was a birthday gift for my daughter that wanted a small animal for a pet, it had not even been opened. Angelica proceeded the rest of the transaction without saying a word, except when she scolded me for swiping the credit card I used instead of inserting it because it had a chip. Needless to say, we decided not to buy anything else that day and just abandoned the cart we already had filled with other pet supplies. It is just amazing to me that employees dont even try to win customers over, it just seems that they dont care. Oh well, petsmart is less than a block away and the customer service associates do seem like they want to help, or at least they know it really is the customer that signs their paycheck. To be completely honest, I usually do shop at petsmart, but I this instance, I decided to give petco a shot. I see now, that was a mistake.

I usually shop at this petco. The employees are usually polite. When i first got into fish keeping, like most beginners, i didnt know what i should have known when starting a tank. I first went to the petsmart that is right by this petco. The lady at petsmart was very rude and embarrassed me around the other customers. So i went to this petco, and the man who was helping me with the fish was very nice and helpful. He explained to me what the nitrogen cycle was and told me about some other stuff i needed to know. When i come to petco, he is usually the person taking care of the fish. But once i saw him putting aquarium salt in the tanks without dissolving it, which is NOT good. But other than that, he is very nice and helpful. So most of the employees i see are pretty polite. But there is one employee that is very rude. I once came to buy some fish and she just walked up to me and didnt even say anything. So i told her what fish i wanted and i asked her what a certain fish was because i didnt see the tag. She showed me the tag and i laughed it off but she just stood there rudely and handed me the bag with fish without even saying anything. That was probably my worst expirience with petco, but luckily my only bad expirience. Their fish are usually healthy. But they recently had an ich outbreak, so i dont buy fish from them anymore. From my experiences, the store is pretty good except the ich on the fish now. Just try to avoid the lady who looks really rude. If you see her, youll know it.

We purchased a baby ferret two weeks ago from the federal way Petco. We had 4 ferrets already at home. We have no other animals except for our ferrets and they are strictly indoor pets. After we got our baby ferret home, we gave her a bath and as soon as she was put in the water, bugs from everywhere started coming out from her fur and was causing bleeding. It was the most horrible thing i have ever seen and to top it off our 4 other ferrets now had bugs to!!! We called the store and complained and was told that we would have to give her back in order for her to get care. She is a part of our family so we did what we needed to get her bug free, but i called corporate to file a major complaint. Avoid this store at all costs!!!!!

This store still houses mutipul snakes in the same enclosures, even though they eat each other and are stressed. Substrates are incorrect and detrimental to the heath of their animals. They have small parrots in unsatisfactory enclosures that they are not secure in and get out of. I watched one get its beak caught and panic almost severely injuring itself. The store is clean and the staff is great and aware of the animal conditions but are unable to do anything to help due to the General Manager. I wont shop here until this is fixed. This is really disturbing that the General Manager is aware but fine with these conditions for these animals. Not ok!

There is no comparison between this place and the other pet store down the road. Petco by far is the better store. They give you a new puppy packet for FREE. The other store charges $19.95. It has great coupons for all your puppies needs from dog collars, tags, food and microchip savings. The vet Dr Evans was absolutely wonderful. She microchiped my dog for only $10 after my $5 off coupon. She was very knowledgeable as well as the rest of the staff in the store. I will only now shop at this store and not the one down the street. The prices, knowledge and customer service is top notch!

TERRIBLE MANAGER: the little girl manager they have thinks she knows everything and when you prove her wrong it makes her even more determined to not oFfer good customer service. What is worst is the store manager tries to cover for her later on and agrees to what she says to cover himself. I called other petcos and petsmarts and they told me they would refund me my money for the product destroyed by our pet hamster. She got out 3 times. WORST PETCO I HAVE EVER BEEN TO. DONT GO TO THE FEDERAL WAY PETCO GO TO PETSMART ACROSS THE WAY!!! THEY ARE NICER/FRIENDLIER

Dont waste your time/money at this store!! Theyre never friendly, and the prices are ridiculous. I usually go to Petsmart, but had a coupon that was for Petco. Long story short, the coupon wouldnt work, and the food wasnt even on sale like the sign on the shelf said! Bad customer service. Im never going there again!! This made me so mad :( And to top it off, this expensive food they recommended, my kitten wont even eat it!! From now on, I will only go to Petsmart!

This store is great!! They just remodeled it so its open & just refreshing. Outstanding customer service! Im always greeted when I walk into the store & every associate asks if I need help. I went to PetSmart & was treated like I was an idiot.. Never will I step foot in there again! I promise if you give this store a chance, you wont be let down. Shannon has the sweetest personality and always know just what my kitty izzy will like! Love this store and everyone in it :)
