I NEVER review anything, and I was going to write a detailed review, but I decided it wasnt even worth it. Long story short: I temporarily relocated into the area and have been going here for a couple of months to spruce up the apartment. EVERY experience has been terrible regardless of time of day. The older ladies are incredibly disinterested in helping customers, disrespectful, on some occurrences borderline racist, and have a general disregard towards doing anything. If not for the fact that Jo-Ann has 50% off coupons all the time, I would avoid this place. The younger ladies seem to put up with a bunch of yelling and ordering around by the older ones. While being led to an aisle to find an item, the employee simply yelled at a younger employee about stocking items in front of me. There have been multiple instances of annoyance pointed at me for asking simple questions and anyone Ive been with. In the beginning I shrugged it off thinking people were just having a bad day, but that isnt the case. Their selection of items is rather sparse compared to other Jo-Anns. I really hope they can improve, because going here is like sucking in air in your gut and trying to minimize the amount of interaction you have with employees in order to avoid nasty looks and sneers. If you dont need fabric, go to Hobby Lobby or Michaels instead. Otherwise, dont have too many expectations and enjoy wandering with little hope for help or direction.

I have been shopping (reluctantly) at this Joannes in Federal way for about two years. At first I thought everyone has a bad day" but now I realize everyday is a bad day here. Unfortunately they usually have most of what I need, so I feel I have to go here. (But now with Hobby lobby just as close not so anymore - thankfully). The customer service at this store is the worst I have experienced from any retailer in the area. There are about two youngish women who work here who are pleasant. The older women here are rude, not helpful at all and always act like they are personally making up the difference for coupons out of their own pockets! They are rarely helpful, never pleasant and just plain crotchety. I am so glad to have Hobby Lobby in town now! And yet, I know I will still have to go here on occasion, but I will try very hard to avoid doing so. I rate it high for products available, but poor customer service brings it down to two stars.

I was desperate to find a particular item and searched all day to find it. I found out that this Jo-Ann Fabrics location carries the item and I rushed (and drove 25 minutes) to get there before it closed. I got there at exactly 8:51pm and had 9 minutes to grab the item and pay for it before the store closed- or so I thought. When I tried to walk in, I was rudely waved away by a woman who turned out to be the manager. I tried to explain my situation- I could see the item from where I was standing! But she cut me off and kept barking at me that the store closes at 9:00. She wouldnt listen to a word I said, wouldnt even look at me, she just kept waving her hand with her back towards me, shooing me away and talking over me. No "Im sorry," no explanation, no common courtesy whatsoever. I have never been treated so rudely by a sales clerk, let alone a manager. Needless to say, I will not shop at this store again.

The overall experience in the store was fine - until checkout. The customer was attempting to use multiple coupons to discount one item, in failed attempts, which wouldnt have been a problem had there not been one employee working the registers. Because of the holdup, the line which had originally only included my two, including my family, quickly grew between 10 - 15. It wasnt until this point that the clerk decided to call for assistance - which wouldve made since long ago. Honestly though, aside from that interaction, the store itself was fine - well lit, organized in an understandable manner, and was obviously more busy than I had gathered. Its just, maybe better staffing, or the use of that staffing, wouldve changed my entire experience.

This JoAnns is supposed to be a super center,that is a joke!! In Spokane WA they dont have superstores,but their stores carry a lot more then this store does. As for the staff,the manager is very,very rude and so are some of the associates. The fabric cutting associates are a joke,their is only maybe 2 that are nice the rest are rude and snobby. I asked one for help,she wasnt busy,she had tons of earrings in her(that is beside the point) but instead of taking me there she just pointed. How rude is that? Anyhow,I will be glad to be back in Spokane,I only go to this store as it is close to where I live for the moment.

If I could give ZERO stars, I would. THE WORKERS HERE ARE SO RUDE. Save yourself some time from dealing with these old cranky ladies who hate their jobs. Im still confused as to how they got hired or if joanns doesnt care to train their employees on customer service skills. I LOVE shopping at craft stores, but I will never again set foot in this location. THE WORST EXPERIENCES EVER. Ive been here multiple times, giving the workers the benefit of the doubt, maybe they jus had a bad day. But DAMN- everytime Ive come so far these past two weeks (probably 10 times) almost every employee is RUDE. I just dont get it.

Whatever you do, DONT go to this Joann anywhere near closing time. Even if you have something you just need to rush in and buy, dont do it. You will get shamelessly cold shouldered. In fact, you should go check it out, just for the uniquely terrible experience. I could not believe it the first, second and third time it happened to me. But now I know, its the culture there to be openly rude in order to clear the building at closing time.

They didnt have the material I wanted, didnt have the webbing I wanted, and then when we had to go check out we were stuck in line for over 45 minutes, they had 2 checkers, but one of them decided to be a greater instead, and the other other one just wanted to spend her time texting, not checking. I dont plan to go back

They always have what I need, knowledgeable and great people to help you. LOVE, LOVE, LOVE COUPONS!! You get to use as many that will apply to all of your purchases. I get them in the mail, email and text. Theres always something on sale that I just may need someday and items are so reasonably priced. :)

Half of the shelf are empty and after I finally found something the line for the register was out the door and only had two registers opend 15mins later I get to the register and asked if they were closing for good or something and she said no. So confused

The ladies that work here are so rude and nasty. I thought maybe this was a one time thing...no it has hppened several times over the last year. Now I refuse to shop here. Sad because I do like there inventory and this was my go to fabric store

The automated telephone response is given at warp speed by a high pitched female voice. I could not understand any of it. Its a good thing I know where to find the store and did not need directions.
