TL;DR Long and misleading turn-over time. Rude and apathetic. Not helpful. Not invested in the customer. Since my computer is a few years old and is exhibiting some annoying behavior I took it into Computer Concepts for a diagnosis on its condition. I was told that I would probably get a call about it the next day. What I was not warned about was that it could take much longer and that I should have brought it in at another time. I had to wait 5 days just for the diagnosis to be done. For someone like me who forgoes television in favor of the computer and whose daily functioning often depends on a computer, 5 days is a long time! After 5 days I was simply told that there were viruses infecting the operating system and that my computer needed to be wiped clean as if it had just come from the factory. They offered a computer back-up service for 99$, but since I have an external hard drive I wished to instead back it up myself. They said that they would show me how to do the back-up to ensure that I did not lose anything, but when it came time to show me, the instructions were extremely peripheral and incomplete. The guy told me that I needed to go into all of my folders and folders within folders to copy the stuff there, but that I did not need to copy everything, yet he would not tell me what I did and did not need to copy. Any answer that I actually did get out of this guy did not come easily. I also asked about backing up online cookies and instead of helping me with that or just telling me that they do not help customers with that, he decided to go on and on about why I do not need cookies. Still, I already know that with my particular computer-using habits I actually do have a lot invested in the cookies that are on the computer, and I wish to keep those things. As I kept trying to ask about backing up cookies, the guy just kept trying to convince me to not worry about it, not even concerned about me, the customer. He tried to argue it away, asking if I even know what cookies are. He went on to say that cookies are only really significant for flash games and that most flash games are too short to worry about saving, and that no one plays flash games anymore anyway. I know that this guy’s approach to the cookies is generally true, but not for ME. As I made these inquiries and other inquiries another guy working there told the guy that I was speaking with that they were only there to tell me how to back-up the computer (dismissing all of my other concerns) and that they do not back-up or help with backing up cookies. The bottom line is that these people were cold and only interested in moving things along in the manner that they wanted. They were not interested in the customer’s needs, wants, concerns, questions, or preferences. They just want to take the computer to do what THEY want to do to it and if you’re not happy with it or if you become lost amongst what they did to it then, well… they still have your money. I decided to not take the computer back for the wipe as I fear I would be worse off after they work on it than I would be if I just live with the viruses.

Had a five year old 27" IMac whose main circuit board went out. Took it in to Computer Concepts that we had used previously for service for diagnostic testing for confirmation. I worked with the owner Alan and had a ver positive experience the whole way. Because of the magnitude of the problem we opted to purchase a new 27" IMac with 5k Retinal display and Alan was going to do the data transfer from the old IMac onto the new one. However, when we first started the new computer there was a green streak on the screen which is obviously not what you want to see when you just purchased a $2500.00 computer especially from a company that touts itself on quality. Alan was able to get a new screen and have it installed in a day including the data transfer and gave me a price break because I left the old computer with him for parts. Overall a very positive experience. Communication was excellent as Alan informed me at every step at where he was and even took my wife and I into the repair facility and demonstrated to us what the actual problem was and that was very cool being able to see what the inside of an Apple computer looks like. I would highly recommend Computer Concepts and for a company like Apple who prides themselves on customer service they could definitely learn a few things from Alan and staff Computer Concepts.

My 3 month old laptop had a serious virus that infiltrated my system and prevented me getting on-line. The software , drivers, had to be removed, reformatted and reinstalled. I needed emergency service and dropped it off 1/15 and got it back repaired by end if business 1/16 as promised. Jeremy was fantastic over @ Yorktown Computer concepts he went above and beyond providing excellent service @ pickup past closing time Friday night and reworked my start button to make it look like Windows 7 and I decided to put extra virus protection , other than just keeping Microsoft Defender, he loaded it on as well and showed me how it works. Jeremy provided expertise, and returned my computer to a better operating state than when I bought it - just 3 months ago. It was truly the best service @ a reasonable cost I ever received! I highly recommend Computer Concepts - Yorktown by far than any other place. They are my new computer place to go for all my technical needs. Jeremy thanks again for the great care and advice you provided me last night!

My 2-year old 27" iMac suffered a hard drive failure. Luckily I had purchased Applecare. After troubleshooting with Apple over the phone it was determined that I needed to take it in to a shop for repair. Being an Apple Authorized repair facility and much closer to me than the Apple Store in Norfolk, I took it to Computer concepts. They had it repaired in just a few days, and handled all interactions with Apple - didnt cost me a cent. Alan even noticed a small crack in my screen and got that replaced too. He really was looking after me. And he restored my hard drive using my Time Machine backup. When I got home and turned it on it was just like I had left it before the hard drive crash - didnt have to reinstall anything and didnt lose any files. I was very pleased with the service.

Dropped off a computer for a fan to be fixed. Two Weeks passed without any contact from the company. We had to call them. Payment was expected before parts would be placed on computer. Understandable. This was NOT advised when computer was dropped off and would have been paid for at the time. Management states that we were called several times.. There records stated this.. We had to initiate communication and then they called us back. Our records show they called us ONCE.. Advised management if they had other records showing otherwise apology would be given. Management REFUSED and used words like pissing match. UNPROFESSIONAL! POOR CUSTOMER SERVICE AND LACK OF COMMUNICATION!
