The Williamsburg Restore has expanded at least 2 times at their current location and continues to fill up with a hoard of overpriced mostly-used merchandise. For example, on 3/7 I found that they have at least 10 vacuum cleaners for sale in the store. I believe the management of this store has completely missed the point of the donation-based thrift store which is intended to turn peoples gifts of used items into cash which can be used to benefit some worthy cause. As a side benefit, those of limited means who regularly shop for used merchandise out of financial necessity receive much needed aid as well - its win-win. Unfortunately, rather than facilitating this process by having reasonable prices / high sales volume, the management has chosen to try to extract the absolute maximum profit from each item. The result is a continuously ballooning inventory, one which contains thousands of useful items that sit there day after day because they are simply too expensive. The people who donated those items did so to with the desire to help the Habitat for Humanity. Items piling up in an ever-expanding warehouse-sized store are not benefiting anyone.

Everything is so overpriced! Whomever they have pricing things doesnt know what things are worth. You can buy the things cheaper at the retail store. Yes, I know they build cheaper houses for the needy. A lot of the things they are trying to sell are complete trash. If they lowered prices they would sell more of the things that can be salvaged, faster. I have been in the store 4 times and they will not negotiate the high prices. So I never buy and wont be back. Just go to Home Depot or Lowes to buy your building materials. I know Home Depot donates to charity. The restore needs to realize that most of the customers that come in there are the needy and looking for a bargain. Not, to donate extra money they dont have to their cause. They are hard working and some single mothers trying to save money on a home repair. They cannot afford to hire someone else to do the repair for their families. I wonder if the money is truly going to helping or is it lining someones pocket? I wont be back there!

The Restore is a great place to look for everything second hand. Ive bought couches, chairs, lamps, paint supplies, and kitchenware from this store. Since they do accept pretty much any donations, there is some stuff thats very run-down, or even just junk, but their great team of (mostly) volunteers keeps everything very well organized so its never overwhelming or confusing to search through it all. If you see something really good though you better buy it right away because it wont be there when you get back. They have also just partnered with the recycled paint company Green Sheen to start offering a small but fine selection of paints that range from 14-16 per gallon.

They got all sorts of cool stuff real cheap and they always check it to make sure it works. They even have outlets so you can check it yourself. The employees are nice and helpful, and will always ask if you need help bringing big stuff out. As soon as I move out, I will be spending a lot of time here.

Most of the furniture in our new house has came out of the ReStore in Williamsburg. Weve also picked up quite a few dinnerware pieces, and a few tools here and there. These guys have great staff, and are always getting in something new that we want.

This is a large Habitat store with friendly staff and a huge selection of merchandise including furniture, construction materials, tools and more in addition to the standard thrift store finds like glassware and holiday decor.
