I love this place! I have been a frequent shopper for several years now. This gem has all kinds of novelties that you will not find in your local grocery store. I always stock up on my cold pressed olive oils, unique herbs, seasonings and many other indigenous foods. Surprisingly, the lovely ladies at Taj Bazar offer cooking classes on authentic Indian cuisine for a small price. Some of the exotic dishes are Chole, Puri, Chicken Biryani & Raita, and Indian Squash with Chana Dal & Rice with Peas just to name a few.

A good store where you can find good halal food. But you have to pay approx 50% more than non-halal meats, and other indian and asian items are approx 20-25 percent more expensive. For example, If you buy 10 piece busciut pack in 79 cent from here, but you can buy 8 packets of 10 pieces for 1.99 in Richmond. and there are so many different items which you can buy in richmond a lot cheaper, but here again, you have to pay more becuase you dont have any choice if you want indian or halal foods.

I am totally NOT satisfied with my last two visits to Taj Bazar. In my second to the last visit, I bought one can of dates honey which was in sale for $5 (usually I buy it for $7 ). When I opened it at home, it was stinky and not eatable at all. In my last visit, I bought a big Medjool dates box for around $60, again, I have thrown MOST of, if not all, the dates pieces because the boxs content was in horrible condition and rot!! In short, I have ended up paying around $70 for nothing.

Okay, so this lady is only available at the store on Saturdays. The good thing is, shes flexible in the evenings after work.. Threading is not the best with her, as her technique is a little heavy handed. But, she is the only East-Indian lady who does facials and waxing. I have had better facials - like the Shahnaz facials, but shes my only option in this area.... Same thing with the waxing options - reasonable for students!

very good collection of nature care herbal products. I go there often and buy hair oil, heena and Triphala tablets. They have all indian and arabic grocery items. I love their fresh snacks. My favourite is samosa chat and bhelpuri.

you know they have best variety of Basmati rice, indian and mediterranean spices, lots of different kind of incense and their natural beauty products are awesome. I want to say the staff is really friendly.

Nice selection. The price is not bad at all. Love getting snacks from here. The service is always a little less friendly than I would prefer but overall nice little market.

Only place Ive found in the VA Beach area that sticks East Indian groceries. Counter to other reviews nothing I looked at /bought was expired.

Lot of Indian food items. Moderately priced. Make sure you check the expiration dates on the items.
