This buffet is quite small, and pretty expensive considering the food on the buffet. The buffet consisted of 2 buffet tables of hot food, and one table of a pretty skimpy salad selection. The hot food was all right -- no complaints there. But for the amount of food available, and lack of selection, > $10 for dinner was way overpriced. The owners dont seem to know how to run a restaurant. They didnt have enough plates, so often had to give paper plates at the buffet. Same with using plastic-ware, which was kind of weird. Our server was nice, but service really want that great. Overall, this is one restaurant I probably should have looked at and just walked away. I didnt because I wanted to see what Jamaican food was all about. But for the price, I couldve gotten much better food and much more selection and better service at many other buffets in the area.

I went there yesterday and asked for a goat roti, then didnt have any.. I asked for rice and peas they didnt have anymore, I had to wait 20 minutes. Then come to find out, they over charging everybody for their food, by giving more rice & peas and less ox tails or jerk chicken with only one side.. I cant believe these folk charged me 11.95 for 4 ox tails with rice & peas with cabbage, and the cabbage wasnt even done, didnt even taste good.. the jerk chicken I brought was nasty, it tasted funny, the gravy tasted nasty, I just wasted 25 dollars when I should of just went to the ones in Newport news where they really take care of their customers, and not over charge them.. Trust and believe I will never eat here again nor bring friends...

I am a Trinidadian from ny who moved to VA. And I was very disappointed with the food. It wasnt close to authentic at all. Cashier took 20 minutes just to take out my food and it was sitting right next to her. I had the curry chicken which was a huge disappointment. I dont know if youre supposed to tell them you want roti warmed (which make no sense) but when I order it and I got a cold roti wrapped up in paper, taste like it was in the freezer. The mac and cheese isnt Caribbean like at all it tastes like it came from a box. My boyfriend had oxtail which he seemed to like. The only reason I am rating two stars because of the grocery connected to a restaurant which do have items that are hard to find.

I love MPs. My stepdad is from the U.S. VI and its hard to find good Carribean food that compares to his mothers cooking. I never go to the buffet, so I cant comment on that. I prefer my food freshly made to order. So I go to the sit-down restaurant part. It is amazing every time I go. The service is probably the worst ever. Servers arent rude just rushed and oblivious to guest needs. But the food is the reason I come back again and again.

Ashley is the WORST server I ever had. Only in the sense that she did NOT come to our table once and left all of our needs to Star who was absolutely amazing. This was my first dining experience here and I will NOT be giving them anymore of my hard earned money due to the fact that the cooks and hostess were rude. The food however was typical but the cornbread is to die for.

Its a good store, they offer various food items from different countries such as the jerk sauce for grilling chicken, and boxes of Goya rice, and othe huge bags of rice. They even have a buffet next to them which I will try out some other time. Prices are kinda steep on some items, they dont have no electronic items, or any other personal care items. Produce is fresh.

Went with friends and its a gamble every other item on down the menu, always an excuse for why something is not available and the taste is pretty ordinary especially for the prices, island grocery store is the only reason to even bother
