This Food Lion is a staple store full of college students from nearby ODU and families from neighbouring Park Place and Ghent. It doesnt smell funny and Ive found it to pretty clean all the time (even the bathroom). Standard sales and deals keep me returning to this location, but I frequent this store for the Latin foods aisle where the regular price on natural cane sugar (free of bone char) beats the other local grocers, most of which are higher end markets, plus the seasonings on that isle cant be found and the other stores either. The staff is always friendly and customer focused so long lines will usually result in new lines opening. Busy times look like the other stores so theres no real difference there. Overall a good location to shop and the ABC store in the same shopping center is convenient.

I dont care too much for this food lion but its the nearest to where Im usually am so I go there when Im in a pinch. The produce is almost never good and they lines are usually slow and you have to search for assistance. The staff are nice but they could be more proactive is dealing with customers. (Some not all) a big issue for me is there is someone always standing outside the doors just chlling or asking for change or cigarettes. I dont mind helping but it makes me worry when my wife goes to the store alone.

Buy your groceries inside. Knock off Gucci purses and vials with strange liquids that I have been assured smell just like my favorite perfume are available in the parking lot. Everyone in the parking lot seems to be just short about 17 cents for the product they would really like to buy and will let you know as you walk past them.

Their music sucks. I feel like Im in 1980s suburbia. The music depresses me if Im there longer than 10 minutes. This store could make up for some of its shortcoming with regular, non-suicidal music. Am I in 21st century Norfolk? I wouldnt know if I was stuck in this store. Awful Otherwise theyre fine. Nice produce.

They always say my card is declined. I can login my bank on my phone and see if have thousands, but they say its my bank. They are super rude. went to farm fresh right after and paid for my groceries with no issues. True stupidity exists and its at this food lion.

I go here because its close to home, but the selection is inferior and the crowd is often a combination of college kids and scary people with open-carry guns, so theres that.

They have some compelling deals that get me in there. The checkout lines can be long and its not the newest/cleanest of stores but the products are fresh
