Ill be honest, I had very good experience at Southside. I brought my Road King (fourth motorcycle Ive owned, first Harley) in for a 10k servicing. I met Charlie Haywood in servicing and he was very professional and helpful. He explained they were currently backed up due to it being riding season again but scheduled me for their next open appointment which happened to be 10 days away. The ten days come and go and I arrive at 9am on Saturday when they open. Charlie comes outside and gets the VIN and other info for the bike and I ask him when he thinks the 10k servicing would be complete. Much to my surprise, he tells me it wouldnt take long and theyd have it complete by the end of the day. I had plans that afternoon around 3pm and asked him if there was any way it could be a priority and completed sooner. He said, "No problem, how does 1pm work?" That took me by surprise and it certainly helped me out. As we chit chat and I explain a few other things Id like looked at, I look at my phone and see there are a bunch of thunderstorms coming our way. Beginning at 1pm, thered be heavy rain and possible flooding. I asked Charlie if it would be okay if I swung by Monday (they are closed on Sundays) to pick it up as opposed to riding in the thunderstorms. Again, Charlie said it was no problem and not to worry and thered be no charge associated with it. Overall, I had a pleasant experience with the servicing department. Mid-way through the 10k servicing, they found a speed sensor to be inoperative (which would explain my ABS light) and asked if Id like to authorize the work to replace it. The part was inexpensive and only a fraction of an hour was charged for labor. They also found a screw missing from a saddlebag and replaced it for no cost. I will be back to have my Road King serviced in the future.

My wife and I came in and Misty provided us with excellent knowledge of products, customer service and was friendly, courteous and patient. As a customer, its a relieving when you receive service like she provided without being pushed into a purchase. HD is fortunate to have an asset such as her. Its people like her that build the core of success for any business. For people like my wife and I, outstanding customer service will always overshadow the price of any product. Even though we live almost an hour away in Newport News, VA., its an easy decision to make the trip to Va Beach Southside HD due to the impression left upon us by Misty. We would also like to comment on the exemplary presentation of the clothing department. Not only were all clothing items and accessories neat and tidy, but sizing of all products were orderly and easy to find. There was another male associate who accompanied Misty who was also very courteous and friendly. This department is very organized and well put together and as a business owner myself, the cohesion of teamwork is easily visible. Thank you to all members of HD Southside who helped us and making our visit extremely pleasant and thank you for being sweet and playful to our newborn while we shopped around. Do Not Recommend!!! Southside was my first choice for purchasing a New 2014 Dyna Switchback in September 2014 because it was close to my home and I had done business with them on two other bikes in the past through military overseas sales. However, after talking with a sales rep, at first they wouldnt budge on price that was over MSRP even though there was a dealer incentive at the time. After additional discussion, they agreed to MSRP but had no military discount options for parts and accessories. Not feeling like they wanted my business, I took my business to another dealer (Bayside) in Portsmouth and walked out with the same bike for $2K less plus $500 in free accessories and a 10% military/veteran discount on all parts and accessories each and every day, not just on special days. Unfortunate because Im no longer a repeat customer!

Wanna DIE on the road? get your bike serviced at Southside. Had a pinch bolt replaced on my 02 heritage, 3 miles down the road parts are falling off my front end at 50 MPH. Idiot never tightened the bolts that hold the front fender on !! When I went back and told them service mgr. said"what ya want from me?" I said at least give me new bolts.He said here ya go ,.....with a very half hearted" sorry". I said "sorry?, this is what gets people killed, there is no excuse for this incompetence" I told him Ive been coming here for over 20 years but, no more. He gave me another half hearted sorry. They could not have cared less. This, after I just spent $500.00 I live 1 mile away but I will go ANY distance before they get another dollar out of me.

Up until today I have recommended Southside Harley to many friends and family and I thought I would be a lifetime customer. However after todays experience I will no longer be doing business with them. I took my bike in for the 15k service only to get it back with the powder coating peeling off my brake reservoir. When I showed it to the service manager he sighed as if I was inconveniencing him and asked me "what do you want me to do about it?"....long story short they wont be replacing the damaged part and i wont be doing anymore business with them. Service dept. is horrible. I will be contacting the better business bureau.

“Just purchased a new 2017 Low Rider S, Jeff Frenchie Martin was my salesman. I spoke with him about 9 months ago about a bike, and ended up purchasing a Victory instead. Jeff would call periodically to tell me about events going on at Southside. When I decided I should have bought the Low Rider S instead of the Victory I called Jeff because he stayed in touch not to harass me about buying a Harley but to come up hang out and have a good time. Both of them ALLWAYS call me out by name upon my arrival, Joe goes above and beyond.
