Were updating our dads 1930s farmhouse kitchen in Maryland and were in need of a new refrigerator and dishwasher asap while I was available to be on-site for installation. We came across Bray & Scarff while running errands late on a Sunday afternoon. James patiently listened to our concerns and explained the features of the appliances that best fit our needs. He looked for rebate offers to help us out with the budget - hooray! - found a couple! We kept him well after closing time to answer all our questions about delivery & installation. He wisely advised us to check the floor to countertop dimensions for the dishwasher before the delivery date to make sure it would fit and instructed us to call him immediately if there wasnt enough clearance -- sure enough, we were shy a fraction of an inch - called him & he immediately arranged for delivery of an equivalent unit for the same installation date. On installation day, the delivery & installation crew showed up on time, determined that doors would have to be removed to get the old fridge out & did so with care. DJ, Turnell, & Oz were obviously very knowledgeable & experienced professionals and worked well as a team to get the job done efficiently. They took time to show me where water shut off valves were located and tested the appliances to make sure everything was in working order before leaving. Our experience from shopping to purchase &installation was far and above better than our various encounters with "big box" stores.

My washer/dryer broke down at the end of May, and after a disastrous purchase attempt at the local big box store in Reston (shipment, already a month late, was postponed for another month, with no explanation or apology, the day before it was due to be delivered), I decided to try Bray & Scarff -- I knew that they were a local, family-owned business with a reputation for great service, but also for being pricey. But I figured I would get what I paid for, and I was right -- and wrong! My salesperson at the Sterling store, Debbie Schiff, was fantastic, and I found a highly rated Maytag at an incredible July 4th sales price -- a better deal on a better model that what I had tried to buy earlier from the other store. When shipment unfortunately was delayed again, Debbie called me immediately to let me know, and then went to work to make sure I was at the top of the list for the next shipment, and managed to get it to me a week earlier than expected. Micha and Andre delivered it today, and were absolute pros. Called to let me know they were on the way, and then quickly and cleanly removed the old machines and installed the new ones. They didnt leave a trace -- not a smudge -- and were very courteous and top-notch professionals. I plan to replace my kitchen appliances later this year, and will definitely bypass the hype from the national chains for the quality experience I got from this store. Thanks, Debbie, and thanks Micha and Andre! Youre the best.

We ordered 4 major appliances (double wall oven, cooktop, dishwasher & microwave), paying in full on 17 Mar 2016. Delivery was scheduled for Monday 16 May. I sent an e-mail the evening of Thursday the 12 to confirm everything was in order for our Monday delivery. Friday they contacted me to tell me they did not have the cooktop or wall oven available yet. They could have the cooktop later in the week, and had no estimate on the oven. I was livid and if I could have gotten my appliances quickly somewhere else, I would have cancelled the entire order (over $9,000). We ended up with three separate deliveries, needing to arrange for someone to be home for each. You would think they would be accommodating of our schedule in these circumstances, but the best I got when requesting a morning delivery of the final item was "Well keep our fingers crossed". They did nothing to compensate me for the stress and inconvenience, not even a sorry e-mail from our sales rep who probably earned a nice commission. They did explain they use a "Just In Time" delivery system. I find that an odd name considering the performance. Oh - one the rebates they quoted me..... ended 2 days before I purchased. Sorry again - youre out of luck. Recommend avoiding this store. The only positive, and what drove me to this store was their price match and 75 days price guarantee.

We bought a whole kitchenaid package from this Bray and Scarf location with Refridgerator, Dishwasher, Range and microwave...over $12,000. When our microwave stopped working and we called their service, 1 yesr after purchase, we were told our warranty had expired 10 days prior...they couldnt help us...but they could try to fix for $250 or so. Then a guy came to fix it, but never showed up even though we had taken the day off to be there. They rescheduled, sent a guy over who started to fix, charged us for work, then said we had to get another replacement part...which we had to pay for in advance. Two weeks later the next guy shows up and tells us the microwave will likely never work...that steel frame is exposed on the inside which will onlt cause sparking and further destruction...that if it were him, he wouldnt put the money into fixing it...that it was already virtually destroyed. so if that was the case, why did the first technician not say so? And how was the microwave faulty after 1 year and 10 days. In any event, we received no financial reimbursement, no "going the extra mile" to help us given how much we spent, and had a truly painful experience just trying to get them to come out and work on a fix...we were left high and dry and advisd to buy a new micowave. I dont recommend doing business with these people, I know I wont again.

Where to start? I will never purchase another product from this company. It has been one mix up after another. After purchasing a floor model refrigerator and getting what appeared to be a great deal, it took 3 failed delivery attempts, multiple phone calls to the Sterling store to have the refrigerator delivered. In the end they "lost" the refrigerator I had paid for, and "found" a replacement. 1 month later, I am still waiting for the $200 credit I was told I would be receiving. I have called the Sterling office and spoken to both our salesperson and the manager. The answer I always get is "someone else has to do it, and we will have to follow up". There is an obvious lack of communication between the local store and headquarters and the distribution center.

Exceptional experience at Bray and Scarff. My husband and I were shopping for all new kitchen appliances and Jim Arata in the Sterling, VA store made the process a pleasure. We arrived at Bray and Scarff after having done research online and we thought we knew what we wanted. Jim brought up questions about how we cook and use our kitchen we had never given any consideration. The store had so many brands it was easy to compare the models we saw online and make a final decision. They have been in business a long time and you can really tell from their professionalism. Jims assistance and patience made a huge difference and we cant wait to use our new kitchen. We will be shopping here for any appliances we need in the future.
