This review is long overdue. I had tremendously high hopes for this local shop given the reviews and the products they carry. Im a big supporter of local businesses and particularly in IT since its the industry I work in. The selection of products that they carry is massive for a local shop, although at a premium. For one, the carried models are significantly more expensive; I suppose that beats paying overnight shipping from Newegg slightly. I watched a salesperson upsell a $65 PSU to an uneccessary $99 Thermaltake because "it was more reliable". Errr... no its not, but I need it today so take my money. Heaven forbid you need to return a product, youll get a 10% restocking fee and a scathing 15 minute lecture about how they are going to do away with the return policy and basically why you are an idiot. I get it. You are losing a little bit of money today to keep a lifetime customer. Thats how the retail industry works. The customer service is disappointing, which surprised me given the seemingly positive reviews. On 3 seperate occasions Ive interacted with the owner and his son. They seemed to give me attitude until they figured out I actually knew what I was talking about. On 2 seperate occasions, I had recommended my mother to go pick up a part so I could work on her computer... they were actually MORE rude to her. Not cool. Id love to chalk it up to bad luck, given all of the seemingly positive reviews on here.... which seems suspect, given my string of bad experiences. These guys are IT competent enough, but at the cost of money and attitude. Id try another place, even big box, first.

Went in looking at new video cards for my computer. They had what I needed, and the owner actually talked me out of spending more money on a card based on what my needs were. Left with an EVGA 1060 FTW 3GB and Im very happy with the results. The price was a little over what I was looking to spend, but I like supporting local shops like this one. Customer service was top notch, and they have a lot of accessories that you cant find in other big box stores in the Richmond area. Ill definitely be bringing my computer here for any repairs or upgrades in the future.

I love Unitek memories, been there so many times for friends all over Richmond and every one has been 100% satisfied. I have had many computers since my first 286, 386, 486, Win95 Win 3.1 & Amiga 200 not to forget my Macs but these guys @ the store on Staples Mill have everything we need every time! This guys will do a custom computer with exactly the components you want. I build my own systems and they have a fantastic stock of parts, right down to the little $5 cable you need to finish a build, good fair pricing and very knowledgeable staff. Yeah Newegg may be a dollar cheaper, but these guys give you support that in the end saves you money.

Great store for computer parts, or for fully built computers. Things are a bit pricey, but hey its local, and its the first Dedicated computer store Ive seen in Henrico. Also the people there are quite friendly, and thy offer a lot of help.

I have shopped with them for a long time and I took my PC in today and they had it fixed by 4 PM. They were priced very fair. Very friendly and their techs are some of the best. Much better than the big box experience.

Prices are extremely expensive compared to websites such as NewEgg and TigerDirect. Do seem to know what they are talking about.
