I try to avoid this area at all costs. I worked in one of the shops for a year or so--so much theft, gambling taking place right outside the stores, cars being broken into, weird people trying to sell you perfume out of a duffle bag...the list goes on. Now that I dont work in this area I never come here. They could really do with a remodel and more security. I remember when I did work in this area the security were just regular police officers, which is great, but they provided us a special phone number to call when we needed them (not 911 but their direct cell?) and every time I had to call this number no one would pick up. Awesome, thanks guys.

Southern Shopping Center has Dollar Tree, Shoe Department, Sallys and a Chinese Buffet. Its across the street from Sams Club and Walmart. There is a Ruby Tuesday there as well. Dont go there. Those are the rudest, most unprofessional servers and managers I have ever interacted with. Go to the Ruby Tuesday on Hampton!

Many varieties of shops from Food Lion Grocery, Payless Shoes, GameStop, Suburban Bingo Hall to several restaurants including a nice sit down Chinese food buffet and K&W Cafeteria. Recently remodeled, this shopping center has been here for years and is centrally located near to several surrounding neighborhoods.

Its just ugly and old and no trees. Too much un even concrete. Poor peforming undesirable brands. It needs a total make over. Out with the old and in with the new. Needs a Kohls or a Target and some more restaurants. I cant say enough about this needing to be completely re done.

Kind of hard to get into but once you do, you can bank, shop for groceries, eat at restaurants, shop for clothes and auto parts, get (or sell) a video game or go to the beauty shop, or eye doc. Theres even a rent-a-center, but dont forget to check out the dollar store first!

I thoroughly enjoyed Applebees here in Southern Shopping Center off of Little Creek Road. The food was delicious my, server was wonderful her name is Jordan aka Jay! Everyone in this restaurant was very friendly and accommodating. I will return again!

Very close to low income housing, attracts homeless and beggars who move through the parking lots asking for handouts or try to get customers to buy groceries for them at the Food Lion. Parking lot is in terrible repair.

Very disorganized setup. Not very clean, was a little to ghetto for my liking. In the plus side the employees were extremely friendly. Police presence are definitely noticible... Too much for me just for groceries...

Parking lot needs a face-lift. This shopping center should add security if they havent already. They could also use a wider variety of shops. Lots of empty space that could be utilized. The shop selections are okay.

This shopping center gets a little better each year. Like the shoe stores. Very affordable shopping. Large food lion. Wish they could get some more eating places. We need a really cool pet store in Norfolk.

Older strip mall that has a few good brands for discount shopping. It is not upscale or beautifully landscaped. It is affordable for the neighborhood surrounding it. Well lit, lots of parking.
