I have a variety of complaints but I will start with the first one. First the salesperson lied to us and told us we would be receiving a better mattress and higher coal count then our first one. That was a lie he told us the mattress would be over 600 coals when we received it, it had 480. We moved to SC from VA. When the mattress was delivered it went from truck to truck. I ask the delivery guys, "Is this mattress a King mattress"? They said, "Yes it is"? So when I got to my new address and set up my bed I notice that a piece of the mattress was missing of the side. The box springs were the wright size but the bed that was in the bag was a California King. The information on the bag stated King so it matches up with my receipt. The tag that you cannot see over the plastic, and paper states that it was a California King. I did not take the mattress out of the plastic until I reached my new home. I called corporate, the store I purchased from, and the manger himself. After 2-3 days of no solution. They had me calling Serta, and corporate treating me like the monkey in the middle. Serta said it was not there problem and corporate said quite the same. The manger calls me and tell me after he has inconvenienced me of no sleeping in the bed and delivering me the wrong mattress that 2-4 weeks he will replace the mattress OR give me a $200 credit for me to purchase new box springs. New box springs will serve no purpose with a king size frame bed. I call corporate they agree that that was horrible customer service considering all they had already put me through. Corporate told me they would get back to me before 5 pm on 08/03/2012, I never received a call. I call them 08/06/2012 to be told they would do nothing and my only option was to deal with the manger that offered me this insulting deal in the first place. If I would of read there reviews and there ratings on BBB I would of never purchase anything from them. They do not specialize in customer service only in making money. They act as if they are doing me a favor by bringing me the wright mattress 2-4 weeks later. Righting there wrong is what a company is supposed to do. Making the customer feel like they are the most valuable asset to the company is how the customer is supposed to feel. This store is horrible in this department all the way around. From corporate to the mangers at this location in Newport News VA customer service is not a priority. Save yourself the time, money , and headache and SPEND YOUR MONEY WITH A COMPANY THAT YOU KNOW IF THEY DO YOU WRONG THEY WILL DO ALL IN THERE POWER TO CORRECT. tHEY WILL SAY ANYTHING TO GET YOU SPEND MONEY, BUT IF THEY SCREW UP YOU ARE SCREWED!

East Coast has terrible customer service and repairs take up to 5 days just to come and see what is wrong. My husband and I purchased a washer and dryer from East Coast from their scratch and dent area. We were told the items were brand new, never been used, and only had minor surface scratches and dents. We have 4 kids, so this was not a problem. The day we got it into the house, the washer wouldnt turn on at all. We called east coast and 3 days later they sent out a technician. They said they had to replace the Central Control Unit in the washer. We immediately asked if we could exchange it for a working washer and they said no, but it was still under warranty so they wouldnt charge for the repair. They replaced it 5 business days later, so it was 2 weeks after I bought my BRAND NEW washer before I could even use it. Then just 8 months later the washer wouldnt turn on again and after a technician came 4 days after I called they said it was the same unit and replaced it again. This time I demanded a new washer and East Coast said they dont exchange or refund because I had been using it for 8 months. They fixed it "still under warranty" and everything was fine for a while. Then just one year later I am having to replace the EXACT SAME PART!!! This time with no warranty, out of pocket. I understand they do no manufacture the washers but their customer service stinks and the least they could have done, was give me a new WORKING washer the first time mine didnt work. I do not recommend them to anyone!!!!!

East Coast Appliance in Newport News was very easy to work with. After prepaying 17 days early and 4 days prior to delivery, at a do it yourself box store, we got a voice message from the manufacturer that our selection was no longer available. The manufacturer said that the would call back within 24-48 hours to offer an upgrade on our selection. No call back from manufacturer or box store. We went straight to Newport News East Coast Appliances. East Coast Appliances not only had our original selection on the floor, saving us time, the washer was offered at their store for the same price! We were so happy with their service and knowledge that we bought another appliance as well. To top it off, they scheduled our delivery for our original delivery date only 3 days later! In fact they offered delivery in 2 days but we werent ready. If the next day had not been a holiday, we could have had it then! The delivery was handled with efficiency and on time. Delivery personnel called with a projected time and followed up with a call 30 minutes prior to arrival. East Coast Appliance of Newport News followed up with a call to check on our delivery and satisfaction. Bottom line, Customer Service, Knowledge, Availability and Price will make East Coast Appliance of Newport News our first stop for future purchases. The manager, Bob, and Salesperson, Jason were very helpful and turned what should have been a non-event into a pleasant shopping experience.

My wife and I came into East Coast Appliance and purchased a range & refrigerator from this store. We were greeted by an associate name John Wyne. He took the time and showed us what we needed in our house. It was in the scratch & dent area. When they delivered the two pieces, The delivery guys did a great job in bringing it in the house. They were quick, friendly and very professional. I dont know the name of those two but they need to be noticed. The first thing that I noticed was the refrigerator, The base of the refrigerator was dented and the piece where the vent is was broke. So I called and a lady by the name of Brooke that picked and help us out. She was able to exchange the refrigerator for another one. While I was remodeling the kitchen I had to move the range and found out. When I pulled it out I noticed that frame on the bottom was bent where the feet were. I got pretty discourage and went to the store and met up with John Wyne again, and told him about the range. He actually took the time after he got off from work and came over to the house to help with the situation. How many people do that? People who go beyond the call of duty does. You need to let these people know how important your associates are in your store. Thank You, One Happy Customer.
