Stopped here on a very cold Sunday morning a couple of weeks ago, a few minutes before the shop opened.The owner (?) came out to get her NYTimes. We asked if she was open today and she barked, "not until eleven thirty" (it was eleven twenty-seven). Since she looked like she was struggling picking up the bin of newspapers, one of us asked if she needed help bringing the bin in and she said "No" in a very abrupt manner, turned her back to us and then went into her shop. We opted to keep walking, she didnt seem to interested in us patronizing her store. Very unfriendly and no plans to go back.

This is a wonderful bookstore, really part of the established culture and diversity of the area that I love. No other bookstore in the area offers the personalized access to literature provided by the owners. My wife and I have enjoyed the social and intellectual events such as book signings by renowned authors that the bookstore has sponsored.
