Let me start by saying I have always been favorable of Petsmart. My parents have shopped there since I was young. My boyfriend and I get our dog groomed at this location and the man who grooms him is an absolute joy. But after the experience I had yesterday, this Petsmart will no longer receive any business directly from me. To be honest, I think I am done with the entire company. I have come in several times since I moved here in January to look at guinea pigs. It has been three years since my last guinea pig, who was rescued as a baby, passed away. Along with him I had another guinea pig who was disabled. I made very strong bonds with these guinea pigs, and have been waiting all this time to get another one until I found one I felt an immediate bond with again. Because getting one just to "get one" and not connect with it right away does nothing for me. I came in four days ago and found my new best friend. From the moment I held him I felt an outstanding bond and knew he needed to be mine. I expressed this to an associate who helped us. I even named him before I even left the store. The next day, I called the store and started to explain the story and was immediately told that whoever I was on the phone with was the same associate. Great! She told me she would hold the guinea pig in the back for me so I could pick him up the next day, as it was getting late. She told me her name (which was easy to remember as its not a very common name) and that she would be there from 12-9 and I could pick him up between then. Perfect! She expressed that they dont normally do that, but that she had asked her manager if it was alright. I spent all morning yesterday driving around to get the best supplies I could find. I could hardly wait to bring him home. But when I got to Petsmart, my baby was not there. I spoke to an associate with the same name that I remembered as the person I talked to who said they had helped me, though she was certainly NOT the person that had been there in the store. She said she had no idea what I was talking about, and that no guinea pig had ever been placed in the back. She repeatedly said a manager would not have given permission for that, yet made no effort to get me a manager to talk to. She kept saying that somebody probably "forgot", giving very specific details as to what could have happened. She said the only phone call she received was from a mom who came in and bought a guinea pig that had been put aside for her, and it was definitely not me. Yet she couldnt tell me who else was there with her that night or get me the manager that was on duty. Very suspicious! I truly believe that this girl (after all, I did remember her name...highly doubt that was a coincidence) mistook me for somebody else, and sold my baby to them. Then she had the nerve to lie to my face and play dumb to save her own back, and didnt want me talking to a manager so she didnt get in trouble. (Continued...I have exceeded character limit)

I love petsmart dont get me wrong but today I had horrible horrible service by one person in the store. (Others were sweet) I came in and asked for an automatic fish feeder and a girl showed me an even better option. A time release feeder that was 30 dollars cheep er and would last while I was on vacation. I was so happy I decided to look at other options and this girl came up to me screaming at me... Im 7 months pregnant just to add that in. I was confused to why the hostile personality and realized it was a half hour before opening. But the doors were wide open. I won have appreciated it if she came up to me nicely and told me instead of acting like I was going to rob her. I dont even want to go back to get the fish feeder but I need it. Getting the cheap time release and not buying toys for my fish there like I was planning. Anywhere else sell that cheaper. :(

Gave one star because I had to but I just had an awful experience. While walking my dog this morning at the golf course he broke his harness. The harness broke not because it wasnt a good product but because he chewed it. It was a good product and I wanted to replace it right away. I didnt even go home, I drove right to the store and waited for the store to open. I went in and looked for the harness. I didnt have my reading glasses with me and I couldnt find it. I went up to the front and asked a lady who Im assuming is a manager because she wasnt in uniform to help me. She made it quite clear I was bothering her. She told me if it wasnt back there they didnt have it. I explained that I couldnt see well enough to find it. She rolled her eyes and said shed send someone to help me. I told her not to bother and I left. Rude, rude, rude.

Made a appointment for my puppy a week in advance. They ask me how old she was I said between 6 and 7 weeks old . Today was the start of her puppy shots my wife drove a hour away for a appointment at 830 only to be told that the puppy was to young to start her shots So now I am at work called petsmart talked to the girl she was telling me the same story I said fine my wife will pick up the puppy and find another vet so when my wife got there there story had changed now the puppy had get her shots and the the girl lied to my wife about how me and petsmart never talked about the age of the puppy. HELLO THAT IS THE VERY FIRST THING A VETERINARIAN WOULD ASK But thank you Banfield thanks to yall we found a veterinarian thats responsible it wont lie

I have two large dogs, meaning theyre hard to shop for. Ive been looking for a certain leash, but couldnt find it anywhere. When I asked an employee at this PetSmart, she helped me find it on their website and shipped it to me with free shipping. She went above and beyond, along with a few other people who work there. They have my business. I will continue to go there, if you have any questions, just ask someone who works there! Theyre amazing and Im extremely pleased. This store also contains a much larger cat and dog area than the PetSmart in Newport News, more everything in the Hampton location.

Called on a Monday to schedule a grooming appointment for both of my dogs. No mornings available according to the man I spoke with. When I called back and spoke to him again, I was told the first opening was at 5 although the site said 4. I took the 5pm for Thursday. My husband and I show up with both of our dogs for a 5pm appt they proceed to tell me that our appt was booked yesterday (Wednesday) for Thursday at 5. As the bather was standing in the back of the room texting, we were told if they see them today it would put her behind. Terrible!
