Summary: This place is the worst watch out for the guy with the horrible tribal/barbwire fad tattoo on his forearm; do not waste your time or money here I tried having my Yamaha Jet Boat serviced at this location on Saturday April 21st 2013 after speaking to a gentleman on the phone earlier that week. He told me to just drop it off Saturday morning, no appointment needed and it should take about 7 to 10 days to perform de-winterization. Upon my arrival I spoke to a guy with sunglasses and a tribal tattoo (I pray he reads this) and the worst attitude you could imagine. I came with my father as we both live outside DC and this is quite a drive with Northern VA traffic, but I wanted to take the boat to a Yamaha boat dealer to get engine diagnostics and tests run (good to have when selling to show its working correctly). I told him what I was there for a boat de-winterization and to have the spark plugs and wires checked. I informed him I called earlier that week and spoke to a gentleman who told me just to drop it off on Saturday. This guy couldn’t have been more rude or condescending. First he said I don’t have you down for an appointment, hello I told you the service department told me to drop it off Saturday (and if you read the reviews they have an upon policy on encouraging customers to just drop off on Saturday’s no appointment necessary, but he’s giving a customer attitude about it…) making remarks such as this is just a used Yamaha jet boat to me, I don’t even want to touch this thing, you won’t get this back for at least 3 to 4 weeks (when I called Friday it was 7 to 10 days), does it even start (yea it starts, but its winterized the batteries are disconnected because they’ve been on a battery tender you big gorilla; this is part of de-winterizing SMDH), I have to protect my mechanic ect … He went on bashing the boat and saying it’s going to cost me $3k because the carburetors are bad… WTF you haven’t even looked at the engines or tried starting her up and you’re already telling me I’m going to need major engine repair? Side note my boat is a 2002 Yamaha but it’s been garaged its entire life and is in great condition with all OEM equipment except newer radio, I keep all my toys clean and take a huge pride of ownership in everything I own, and the boat has never had a mechanical issue, it ran fine all last season, which I expressed to him. After more rude remarks and the overall unwillingness to do the job I ended up taking it to Holly Acres in Woodbridge. Great place! People couldn’t be more friendly and happy to have my business. Sad part is I went to FMS in hopes of buying a new Yamaha (trading my 2002 in for a new AR210, but after this experience I will never buy from them, I guess I’ll be looking at the Regal 2100RX now). I can’t believe a place like FMS is even in business with people like that guy I ran into Saturday (21 April) with the horrid fad tribal/barbwire tattoo on his forearm from the early 2000’s; talking down to customers, giving attitude, and just being an all around horrible person... keep zipping around the parking lot on Can-Am Spyders without helmets and cigarettes…

My first visit to FMS was back in May for a pair of riding gloves so that I could take my motocylce basic rider course. The staff helped me locate them and then even took the time to help me decide which was a better fit for me since I was having a hard time choosing between a small or medium. I loved that they were not rude, impatient or condescending to a girl. I took a few minutes to talk to Corey about which bike I should start on should I choose to buy one. By the end of the conversation I knew for sure that I would be back to buy a bike from Corey once I had my license. He was professional, friendly and fun to talk to. He was very knowledgable about the bikes, ABS models and what would be a good fit for a female beginner who was lets face it super nervous. Fast forward two weeks later I went back to FMS (with my license in hand) and told Corey I wanted to buy my first bike. I had chosen the 2013 Honda CBR250R with ABS. Corey had to go pick it up from Richmond in a crate just so I could have what I wanted. We did up most of the paperwork in a very short period of time and he said I could pick it up the following week. He called me the following week to reassure me that everything was on schedule and I could pick my bike up on Friday. Corey was scheduled to be off work for his wedding the day that I was going back to pick up my bike but he took the time to call me the day before and go over a few things. The day of the pick up I finished my paperwork with Don (finance manager) which was quick and painless. I took some time to talk to Rob and a few other parts/service department guys about extra parts and accessories I could get for my bike. Again, everyone was so patient and nice to me. I cant tell you how many guys have been rude and condescending to a girl that wants to get into motorcyle riding. I purchased my bike cover here, my husbands new helmet, and my husbands new riding jacket with a pretty sweet discount. Two guys took me out to my new bike and went over everything with me. Whats this, wheres that, how do you do this, etc. They let me get a feel for the bike by riding around the parking lot. A few minutes late I rode away on my brand new bike. About a week after I took my bike home Corey called me again just to see how I was feeling, was I happy with my bike, questions/concerns etc. I never expected to hear from him again, how nice that was to do a follow up call. I feel like I got the best service and experience I could have hoped for and more. I will continue to go back to FMS for parts, service, accessories, etc. And of course I recommend Corey to anyone looking to buy a bike.

If we could give no stars to Fredericksburg Motor Sports, we would do so. First, we spoke to a salesman over the phone the day prior to coming out to see a preowned motorcycle we were interested in. The salesman, Chris, assured us that the motorcycle was as described in the website as being in excellent condition and answered all questions posed to him and initially was very helpful. We planned (and advised him) that we would be coming to see the bike the following day. The bike we were looking at was listed in multiple places (Craigslist, Cycle Trader, etc) with numerous pictures as being in "excellent" condition (and still is as of this writing). First, we called Friday morning to advise Chris we were on the way (two hour drive) and would be there in a few hours. We were told "Chris hasnt shown up yet, we dont know where he is." We arrived about 2 1/2 hours later and we were greeted at the door by a woman who worked there. When we arrived and said "Were looking for Chris" she replied "So am I." Apparently he had not shown up at all (by now it was past 1pm). Very unprofessional greeting! We explained what bike we were there to see and about our own bike we were interested in trading and were advised that another employee would examine our bike while we looked at the one we were interested in. While our bike was being looked at, everyone else disappeared for a long while and we were left to find the bike for ourselves. After numerous trips around the dealership, someone finally pointed us in the right direction and we found the bike. It was sitting on the front line of the showroom covered in dust. The bike had a large hole in the faring that would need to be replaced. There were also scratches on the side of the saddlebag and cracks along the highway pegs and cracks on the faring itself. The bike had obvious aftermarket handlebars and the salesman thought they were stock and was trying to convince us of this. For a bike listed as "excellent" condition with twelve pictures, none of which showed damage, this dealership pulled a very skilled "bait and switch." It was a two hour drive of wasted time that left us both with a very VERY negative impression on this dealership. Not to mention the salesman who didnt show up and the other employees not bothering to hide this or make up for it to us by trying to be helpful. So, beware if you are seriously interested in purchasing or having service work done here as the employees do not represent themselves or their services as trustworthy. We will not be returning here.
