My girlfriend and I stumbled upon this place thanks to a recommendation by Google Maps. It was dreary and rainy out, so we wanted to get out of the cold and get some warm coffee in us. Little did we know, we were about to stumble into one of the most delightful little places that we have ever stumbled upon. Enough with the stumbling. We got here, and we ordered from the very nice front counter lady. We got a coffee, a butter coffee, a piece of carrot cake, a caprese sandwich, and a chocolate biscotti. The coffee was good. The butter coffee was a house made concoction of their coffee blended with butter to make their coffee creamier without having to add cream. It was very good. I got it with some vanilla flavoring, and I was able to drink it without adding creamer, which I usually do. The carrot cake was honestly the best purchased carrot cake I have ever eaten. I have a feeling it was made with vegan ingredients. They have a lot of vegan and dairy-free options here. But it was very rustic, with medium sized chunks of real carrots and walnuts in it. Superb. The caprese sandwich was nice, too. It was served on a big ol brioche roll, and there werent enough of a toppings-to-bread ratio, leaving the sandwich kind of dry as a whole. But the flavors were there. Finally, the chocolate biscotti was delicious. Their kitchen was on full display within the shop, and you could see them making the biscotti by hand. It was really kool. The atmosphere is what really earned this place five stars. The entire length of the shop is lined with used books that you can read while youre in store, and you can choose to buy them, too, if you want. There are board games, too, like Scrabble and chess and checkers and Apples to Apples. And my favorite part, every choice of seating was different. There was a normal four-person table, a bar, a nook dedicated to studying patrons, a couch, a larger table, a pair of comfy chairs, and a table that was the chess board that we played at. Basically, we lost time in there and had to come to our senses as to what time it was and go home. We could spend hours and hours in there, and we will return.

A great coffee shop, owned by two great sisters. As you walk in, they greet you like an old friend and always make you feel like a guest in their own home. Except, in this home, they bake a whole range of vegan and vegetarian goods that are hard to come by in the rest of Fredburg. They also offer more choices than Im used to - you can get almond, soy, or coconut milk in your drink, all for no extra charge (hooray for my fellow lactose-intolerants)! Its really awesome to see a family run business providing a better service than the big chains, and you cant help but root for them. The pair of sisters work so hard to get everything just right, from art on the walls and in the lattes to the high proportion of fair-trade, organic ingredients they use.

VEGAN BROWNIES. I mean... what more do I need to say, right?? In seriousness, I adore this place. Its very small, but thats part of the charm. Excellent vegan (and gluten-free) coffee and snack options. The front room has a couple of seats, a small bar along the wall facing some shelving with jewelry and bath goods from local individuals (I love when businesses showcase local artists and creators). You can walk to the back, past the baking area (you can actually talk to the baker / chef about her vegan recipe ideas) and into a small sitting room with bookshelves filled with locally traded books. Awesome awesome place.

Best new Coffee Shop in downtown Fred!! Built into an old house, it looks tiny from the front but goes way back with many interesting things to see as you walk through the house! Plus I hear they are saving to be able to make an outdoor patio seating area of sorts! They have lots of gluten-free and/or dairy-free, and/or other-things-free options to choose from, and though I havent gotten their food much, I hear its very tasty. OH! also, they have many many items by local crafters and artists for sale. You might even see some of my personal favorite, KtJoPottery!

I went here for the first time today. I ordered a Mocha there and my boyfriend ordered a Agora coffee. He said that he loved the brew of the coffee and that it was cool that you could pour and make your coffee just how you like it. For me the Mocha was fantastic, the perfect blend of being sweet while also being actual coffee. I definently recomend this place to anyone looking for a nice coffee place, its super worth the drive out to downtown Fredericksburg .

As someone who used to work at a different coffee shop downtown, Agora is an unforgettable experience that everyone should enjoy. The baristas, staff and owners are amazingly friendly and eager to please. Unlike other places downtown, all of their pastries and treats are made in house and change consistently (come early for the macaroons!) The shop embraces all things downtown and local and the charming mismatched decor makes it feel cozy and homey.

I love Agora. The homey atmosphere and service is very welcoming. They have a beautiful patio in the back and comfortable seating inside. Everything is made in house and is delicious (the macarons are amazing!). I especially love the community events that they have. Its great to be able to support a local business that gets involved with its surrounding community. Also, their coffee is really, really good and they have a great tea selection.

I went literally every other coffee shop in town and this place had the best coffee. I order a double esspreso and an americono both drinks had nicely pulled shots and didnt taste over extracted unlike the other places I went too the pulled long watery shots. Only thing that needs improvement is the drink display board is vague and not very detailed. It only list 1 size for each drink which is odd.

Superb coffee in a quaint little peaceful spot serviced by the friendliest of folks. But wait, theres more! In-house baked (with love) sandwiches (breakfast and lunch), muffins and cookies. The front room features locally made handcrafted goodies, books of regional interest and smiles. Plenty of room in the back to catch up with a friend or immerse yourself in your favorite book. Feels like home.

Great coffee with a abstract concept of customer relations. The shop seems to theme around a specific market. Fine! Like coffee and pastries. Dislike the less than relaxed nature of the staff that seem uncomfortable with my presence. I had to repeat myself three time when ordering but the product was awesome. They deserve five stars but 3 stars is an appropriate overall score.

I absolutely love this local coffee shop. My favorite thing is that they have food selections for a variety of special diets (Vegan, Gluten Free, Vegetarian, Dairy Free, etc.). I LOVE the outdoor patio area in the back; its a comfortable spot to enjoy your coffee with a book or friends. Their staff is fantastic, the coffee is fantastic, and the food is fantastic!

Nice venue on the edge of the Fredericksburg historic district. The lighting, decor, and furniture contribute to the quaint atmosphere. The London Fog tea is a family favorite, and the pastries and desserts are excellent. Most importantly, the people are nice. As a bonus, they also have used books available for reading and for sale.
