Terrible Customer Service (In Store) - I have been a US Cellular customer for the last six years and brought over my plan from North Carolina when I moved to the Charlottesville area this year. My old LG phone would not power up after a year of having it so I paid out my contract purchased a Samsung Galaxy S8+. From day one I could not receive inbound calls while roaming (In the Staunton and Harrisonburg areas) which my old phone a week prior worked just fine in those areas. I called customer support to address the issue but after a few days of not being able to fix the it, they advised me to go into this retail location to swap out for another phone before my 15 day return period ran up. I called the store to let them know what was going on and that I wanted to swap it. Customer service assured me that it wouldnt cost a dime because there was possible a malfunction with the phones antenna, but the guy "Eddie" I talked to insisted there was a restocking fee and even suggested that I "Try Another Carrier" After a $850 purchase on the phone and contract renewal. Once I arrived at the store at 6:30 it was very busy with about Six other people ahead of me. "Eddie" The guy I previously talked to earlier, finished his shift at 7 and clocked out to go home and left the other two employees to handle the last six customers, The store closes at 8:00pm. Once its my turn to handle my issue, its already 7:45 with 4 more customers that had came in behind me. I explain to the lady who helped me "Terresa" about my problems and she begins to tell me that they cant do a swap because the manger is gone and to "Come back during Businesses hours" . I explain i work untill 5 and live thirty minutes away. After enough arguing the lady working with her explains that she can in-fact do the swap, witch turned out to be a escapade all its own. She was very rude to me and several other customers in the store at the time as well rudely telling the family that was standing at the counter for the last 20 minutes that "If you want help, you might as well sit down because its going to be a while" I also tell her customer service said they would refund the $40 glass screen protector I purchased and brought the receipt like customer service said to do, they also said if there was any issue about this to have the tech call customer service for assistance . She informed me that "US cellular Doesnt do that" and refused to call customer support so they could explain the situation. Customer Service ended up crediting me the $40 after emailing a copy of the receipt. After its said and done, Im all done and walking out the door and I look down at the box and realize shes given me the wrong phone. A regular S8 not the S8+ that I was swapping and would have ended up paying over $850 for a phone that cost $750 because of the swap. I inform her and she tells me they do not have any S8+ in stock and they will have send one in the mail in two days. I ask her where its getting shipped. No clue... She never asked for a address and I give her one. After almost two hours, no solution. Its thirty minutes past closing and they still have a line of customers. I leave with no phone. Two days latter I get my new S8+ in the mail. Same problem, no calls in staunton or harrisonburg, and now this one will not connect to wireless internet or 4G. After a hour with customer support, nothing could be resolved and they suggest going back into the store and getting a new sim card. I tell them what happend and that I do not want to do business at that store and they allowed me to return the phone and cancel the contract and service agreement. I now have a Galaxy S8+ with Verizon I got yesterday that works Flawlessly EVERYWHERE and the staff was very friendly and knowable. When youre buying a phone that cost almost $1000, consider the carrier and what you can expect with them. Verizon can definitely be more costly but like they say, You get what you pay for, and cell phone service is no exception...

Sadly to say my experience with US cellular sucks. Sorry to be so blunt. But they have lied. Their advertising says they have towers anywhere. What they failed to tell me with prepaid phones only bounce off of towers for service. I purchased two phones from them on costing only a penny. I cant get service pretty much anywhere and nothing they can do about it. With both phones you have to dail the number twice. Plus for them to take back at least my phone Ill have to pay $35.00 then get a check in 60 days with my money returned to me. Im sorry but Id think so. Then the lady said you can take the phone and sell it to someone else. Im not like them I wont sell people junk. Its awful they are falsely advertising and someone just might sue them. Nothing was explained to me clearly when I purchased the phones or the plan. I will let it be known to my friends and family to never go with US cellular. -Signed- Displeased Now Ex Customer

Honest Carrier! Their corporate office appears to be very knowledgeable and very polite. I switched to Sprint and learned my lesson. In general US Cellular have okay pricing plans, but what matters to me is honesty and better coverage and experienced people. I had pretty bad experience with Sprint local store and corporate. I would highly recommend US Cellular.

I have been a customer for years and will continue to use them. I was in there for an our today while they helped me get new SIM cards to set up my new phones that I purchased online. They also transferred all of my contacts for me at no extra cost to me! They were very friendly, helpful, and patient. Thank you!
