I had to give numerous forms of I.D. including Drivers License, an electrical bill, fishing/ boating license, my Social Security number, had them look up my voter registration, my DMV Card, etc. and they still told us they still had not enough details or proof where I lived at. The only way I could even be able to buy the firearm was to buy a hunting license from them, took the cashier a good 20+ minutes for him to suggest that when we could have saved time instead of searching through my belongs for more evidence. Provided numerous pieces of evidence that had my address but yet not enough, until we bought the hunting license off of them which was slightly irritating. Also, I am an older gentleman and they couldnt comprehend that I have trouble when I write since my hands shake and a disease which causes my tendons to form together plus I require reading glasses and a secretary for writing. They acted like I couldnt purchase the firearms because of my reading and writing troubles because I was the one that need to fill in the information on the paper when I was unable to without it being illegible. Finally after some time had past, they brought out a piece of paper and a pen to have 3 witnesses to write their names, address, and phone number to authenticate that everything I said was being written on the form, but to that point everything was aggravating with the amount of personal information given and to no success, the idea of being unable to buy the gun since of my condition and age, and the waste of time and aggravation my family and I had to go through when it could have been avoided by telling us we only had to buy the card sooner and didnt act like I couldnt buy the gun since Im older and have troubles writing/ reading. At the end of the day I didnt buy the gun and I am glad, I visited another gun store which didnt take me on a wild goose chase and respected my conditions. Plus, when I was waiting in line at Green Top, I noticed no one was answering their phone calls which made the phone to ring an endless amount of time. When I came home after the unneeded experience I tried to call Green Top but no one answered, I tried and tried again but to no prevail. It seems like they were ignoring their customers that were calling even though the phone is right beside of the worker which is very disrespectful of a business.

Well I went in greentop to buy a rifle and hand gun. There was more than enough documents that I provided to show Id. The very rude rep at the gun counter insisted I didnt have something showing I was a U.S. Citizen. Also I live in Hanover but lisence says Amelia. I showed my car registration, change of address card, voter registration, drivers license, and the speeding ticket I got when I went to the DMV to get more documents the rep told me I needed. Once I returned from the DMV with the documents and a speeding ticket. Which was my fault. The little bastard still refused to let my buy what I came to get. So I left called another store they said I wont have a problem with the paperwork I had. On my out of greentop I called the store manager and wanted him to know that his uninformed and arrogant staff are the reason hes gonna loose 1500-2000 dollars in sales from. Me. He instructed me to come back and he would make it right so I did. As soon as I walked in the store the same little arrogant sales rep told me. Greentop isnt selling you a gun today. I told him I spoke to the manager and it shouldnt be a problem. Needless to say he got upset and responded "I file federal paperwork all day and u know bottom line is I cant sell it to you." I said ok I walked up to the store GM, told him his staff is still refusing a sale. The GM took my paperwork and verified everything he ran the background check every thing came back good. After that he gave me a really good discount on my purchases. I have bought weapons in va many times. I must say I have never had this much trouble. Although I did get what I wanted at a discount price. I really dont see myself going back there to shop. Next time I will go to a different store where the staff are much more knowledgeable about selling firearms.

Great Place. I walked into Greentop with the idea of getting some information on different bows. I want to get into Bowhunting and I am very new to the sport of archery. I did not have any intentions on walking out of the store with a new bow. I was simply there to get some information and get some questions answered. When I walked in, I was greeted right away by Tim. Great guy who quickly started answering my questions. He had other things he needed to go do so he passed me on to his Manager, Billy. I introduced myself and explained what I was looking to do, why, and what I was looking for. Billy was very knowledeable and answered every single question I had. He took his time to explain things to me and was not pushy to make a sale. I could tell he was interested in helping me make a very informed decision. I went to a few of the big box stores and never got the same advice or level of help, and the big box stores had more people available than greentop. It was awesome. I WILL be going back to make my purchase. It is good to know that there are still some places out there that actually care about helping a customer make an informed decision and not just push them to buy what they need to sell.

I bought a used Springfield XDS from these people. They wouldnt come down on the price AT ALL, they swore this gun was a hot seller. Wouldnt let me test fire it on site like some places do....NOT HERE. Took the gun home and had a feed problem with 2 different name brand ammos and jammed on a few instances. I cleaned the gun and almost a month later when I went back throuh Richmond,Va I took the gun back to them and explained the problem to the same guy I bought it from. He took it in the back where I wasnt permitted to go and shot it several times, came back and handed me my now-dirty-gun, & told me he had no problem with it at all. I suggested they give me a store credit on a Rifle I had in layaway and they said No. They offered me $179.00 LESS than I paid for the gun and said it like they were doing ME a favor. Of course I declined. The scope department Guru seemed iritated when I asked a few questions about a scope I WAS interested in. My next gun will come from Cabelas & that scope I inquired about... will come from Midway USA. Both are 2 companies Ive never had any problems with. WATCH YOURSELF HERE!

Ive never dealt with such gun ignorant people in my life they carry no parts for 1911 models of any kind theyre selection is very glock biased as if anybody really needs such garbage, and any fun you buy if its not new in the box it looks like its been pulled through a mudhole and dipped in a grease barrel and drug through sand. NO CUSTOMER SERVICE OR VALUES a .45 isnt "bigger things" and a 9mm isnt a show stopper these idiots actually think a 9mm glock has more stopping power than a .45 of any kind. They actually think some highschool kid can tell ex military what he NEEDS to know concerning a weapon, this place is bogus. If you want REAL service, real weapons and modification along with proper knowledge know how and safe sales look up SODAN ARMAMENT in New Kent VA. everything you could want family owned and very in depth servicing for anything you can bring in. Best knowledge and customer service PERIOD!!!
