Local bike shops are usually great, but some are truly special. The Old Bike Shop is the kind of place where the customer feels like theyre on the inside - friends with the owner, manager, and mechanic. Service prices are comparable with others in the area, but they seem to turn out work faster because theyre a small shop with little storage. They have a pretty nice selection of used bikes for sale too, so if youre shopping for a ride and dont want to pay top dollar, this is a great resource. The hours are handy as they typically stay open after the standard work day and on the weekends, and the employees are really personable.

The Old Bike Shop is a hands down the best bicycle shop I have been to. The staff was relaxed and highly knowledgeable and assisted me in selecting the perfect hybrid bicycle for my 8 mile daily commute to work. They maintain enough bike choices on hand so my wife and I both were able to find the right bicycle on our first visit. They sell mostly used bikes with replaced parts and some new bikes I shopped around a lot and their prices arent easily beat. This place also will repair/ replace anything wrong with bike in first 30 days after purchase. A+ experience buying bicycles here. Note: they only take cash or check.

First , I have to say that their customers service is excellent. Second , their prices are affordable and they will work with you. Third , the employees and the owner are so nice and helpful that you just want to come and hangout with them at the store. I bought my first bike with them, it was a hybrid. I am back (Nov 20th) to finally get my road bike and I am really please again with my experience. I love to support small businesses cause they care about keeping their customers happy and want them to come back.

I came in a while ago needing some work done. They did a good job. When I went to pay they told me they dont take credit cards. I was about to hit an atm but he told me not to worry about it, no charge. I came in another time for a light. It was 15.90 w tax. I handed him a 10 and two 5s. He handed a 5 back and said dont worry bout the change. They are also genuinely interested in helping you. I appreciate how they do business, they clearly want to keep long term customers, and theyve definitely earned my loyalty.

A friend recommended this shop to me for its honest prices and superb customer service. I dont live in the neighborhood and pass multiple bike shops on the way but will always go here from now on. Not only did the nice guys do an excellent job fixing up the used bike I recently purchased, they also provided great advice on exactly what I needed. The consultation was worth a lot in and of itself, especially for me as this was my first roadbike. And did I mention the guys are super nice??

This place is such a gem!!! The guys are so down to earth and will tell you exactly what you need. No overselling, no pretention, no shenanigans. Just cool people selling unique bikes. We also took in a bike purchased at another store for a repair and they went above and beyond to make the bike run the best it ever has. Definitely come here if you know a ton about bikes or nothing at all- theyll help you out regardless!!

No one in the DC area knows more about vintage bikes. This shop has amazing staff that truly love bikes and just want others to love them too. If youre interested in owning an older time just for the joy of cycling, this is the place to go. If you have an older bike in your garage that you want to get back to its old glory, then this place is for you.

Walked in with a broken chain on the recommendation of a trusted friend. Enjoyed museum docent grade conversation with Larry on his extensive inventory and the bike business in general. Couldnt make up my mind about upgrading my ride, but got my chain repaired gratis and was on my way home.
