DONT SHOP AT THIS LOCATION. Ive recently had the LAST experience Im going to have with this best buy. Ive had a bad experience 4/4 times Ive been there. The most recent was exchanging a gift a pair of beats for the same, just a different color. I had called their customer service ahead to ask if I could swap them without a receipt since the item was a gift. They said, yes just dont open the packaging. I followed the instruction, went in. At first they said yes they could, so I went and grabbed a different color. When I came back they said they only exchange the base amount excluding the tax. So with the new ones Id have to pay the taxes. When I asked if my sister would get a refund from the taxes she paid they said no. When I begrudgingly agreed to their extortion, I was told that the item is serialized and Id need the receipt. On black Friday I bought an Xbox online for in store pickup. I waited to receive the texts saying it was ready. An hour after I received the text I went to pick up my purchase. They handed me half of what I bought (a game) then tried to send me on my way. I showed their was also a game console. The to kept going back to an unorganized pile to look for it (3 times) looking at shelves with trays in them thatd be too small to even hold a box that big, after I had already offered to go retrieve it myself. Only to be told no, someone has already processed the order. Waited there over 20 minutes, before someone from their backroom grabbed one from the floor, processed it then placed it in their pile of pick up items. I asked my rep to go see if that was mine, which it was. This means the order wasnt being processed he just didnt want to do it. I watched where I would of been in line if I had not done an online order, I would of been out of the store sooner I had two other incidents at this location in dealing with a rude floor manager who I took to task on his inability to use any pragmatism in my showing him that their online offer on a lap top was a bait and switch. Their staff is just bad and ultimately Im the fool who has gone back there since its close to my work. The cycle is ending. I advise anyone considering this location to go somewhere else. Theyre unhelpful, rude, and lazy.

Worst customer service I have ever seen at a Best Buy. The "Store Pickup" is a joke. Heres my experience and why I wont be going back to that location again. I ordered a product on Friday around 6pm. I planned on driving through Salt Lake which was about a hour away no problem I had other things to take care of as well. I arrived at the Best Buy in Jordan Landing at around 11am on Saturday as I figured they would be getting all the orders that were sent in on Friday ready for the "Store Pickup". Well I go up to the pickup line, and I am told from Scott (I think) "did you receive the email saying its ready?" I hadnt but I figured I ordered it 18 hours ago, the store had been open for at least 8 hours since I placed the order, why wouldnt it be ready by then? Isnt the point of "Store Pickup" for convenience for the customer?? I asked if he could just go grab it real quick, "No thats not the way it works" is what Im told. I said ok well can I just go grab one and then we can cancel the one I placed since it isnt ready and I live far away. "No thats not the way it works" no explanation just a blank stare. The guy was rude no doubt about it, but I tend to think of it from both sides, maybe hes not allowed to go the extra mile to help a customer either way I leave to take care of a couple more things; it is 4pm now on Saturday when I placed the order on Friday. Still no email saying its ready. I placed the order for convenience and yet this is the situation. I go back to the Best Buy, and am told the exact same thing I needed to wait for a email saying its ready. I take a couple people out to dinner, and I finally receive the email saying its ready at 5:45 pm almost 24 hours after I placed the order. I know this is not a reflection of the policies and customer service that Best Buy as a whole practices, but I strongly urge someone in management to look into what is happening at this location because if this had been my first time going to a Best Buy I would NEVER return. Luckily I have met awesome employees at other locations that will keep me coming back. Thats my story. Horrid experience, but nevertheless I thought Id type it out so maybe someone can see.

Horrible customer service. I was greeted by Thomas the manager. Slim build below average height, redhead young man. Immediately he was confrontational. I had purchased a poor quality phone 2 days prior and simply asked for a refund . I was told by Thomas it was subject to a restocking fee of $35.00. Unnaceptable as this was not written on my reciept. It clearly stated a 14 day return policy which I was well within. Thomas told me the re-stocking fee was in the terms and conditions online for my viewing but it was not written on my purchase reciept. The policy from Best Buy needs to be written ,provided to the consumer and to be transparent at the point of sale. I left that store frustrated and feeling taken advantage of. I then went to the South Salt Lake store. I was greeted by Gabriel who listened attentively to the frustration of my experience at the previous store and immediately said "there is always a solution sir "then he proceed to ask qualified questions to assist me. He too told me about a restocking fee but suggested I return the item and upgrade to something better and his manager would waive the fee. SOLD!!!! This store retained a customer and frankly the employee Gabriel was the reason. He listened, acknowledged and created value for me. Although it requires an additional travel distance of 19 miles to this store it will be my only Best Buy store should I need any future help. Great job Gabriel and SLC. West jordan please take notes for training purposes.

Absolutely deplorable service! Went to this location to pick up an online order and I had left my ID at work on accident. I thought to myself, "No worries, we live in a day where technology is everywhere. There are MANY ways to prove my identity and online purchase." Well... Not only did they turn me away without my ID but they wouldnt even look at me as they declared, "Need a photo ID." Really? What would it matter to have an ID if they dont even bother to look up. Lets be real about this archaic policy... I can and have made purchases online without a photo ID and Ive even received a purchase made online without a photo ID. Can I not provide proof of purchase with the dozens of spam messages I receive from Best Buy monthly or logging into my best buy account? This "team" of customer service members lack common sense and interpersonal skills. Hey, if showing an ID is absolutely mandatory of Best Buys policy then fine. I wont be making any further online purchases with this company... My time is more valuable than the purchase and that time was wasted traveling back and forth. The rep gave me the name of the manager Kyle Callaway and didnt bother to inquire why I was upset. After reading other reviews I doubt that anyone within this company cares, so Ill be direct with Kyle Callaway who is the general manager... Please address this matter with your employees. To all the potential customers out there, I do not recommend wasting your valuable time and money with Best Buy.
