This is an excellent Deseret and more fun than any thrift store than any I have been in in OR, WA, ID, MT, MO, or CA. The employees are nice and extremely helpful. Large and well stocked (late June 2014), clean and fairly priced IMHO. Lots of "guy" stuff, electronics and shopping carts. Note that I am just trying to give credit where it is well earned. UPDATE> While the selection of merchandise is wonderful, the prices affixed are getting a bit unreasonable. And I see some customers are always asking for price reductions and it often works. How does Deseret think this makes anyone who pays full price feel? Finally, SOME of the employees are incredible rude, not with their words but rather with their actions. Many will chat with fellow employees while blocking the isle, cut you off as you walk across the store floor, park a stocking cart in the middle of the isle and walk away and generally make the entire visit a test of anger management. There are of course some very nice employees but overall...not so much. I am no longer sure if all the rudeness is worth the occasional good deal. Its a true quandary and very sad. I hope management will offer some pointers to the employees. Thanks and have a good day!

Ive been to almost every thrift store in Utah and SLC counties and I can say that this is definitely one of my favorites. Its very well organized, fairly priced, and always has clean restrooms. The staff is friendly and very willing to help. The associates continuously stock the store with more merchandise until about 4:00 PM. It seems like it is busiest on Saturdays, and weekdays from around 1:00-4:00. I like to do my treasure hunting in the evenings. Like all thrift stores, a little time and patient perusing turns up great treasures. Ive seen signed jerseys, autographed books, arcade games, snakeskin boots, Coach purses, and much, much more. This DI has a very good donation base. Whenever I donate I try to come in the morning or evening because the donation drive through tends to be very busy in the afternoon, especially on Saturdays. Some of the people working there are a little odd -- I try to be patient with them because I know that DI is a job training program and they do a lot of good for the community. Overall they are genuinely kind and helpful. I hope this helps. Happy shopping!

Best place in the world to shop, no kidding. Shirts on average are about $3 each, and you can always find plenty of quality shirts. Clothes on average are under the $2-6 price range, so this is a perfect place to shop for anybody. Forget the mall where shirts will go for $20 each, get 5 of them instead for the same price. Additionally, you can find furniture, electronics, sports equipment, books, pictures, home accessories - potentially anything you could ever need, even microwaves! There are wedding dresses for under $100. Shopping here helps the community and the world, proceeds go to help humanitarian causes around the community, nation, and different nations.

What i cant understand is how u price the items so high???? Really is that Christ like? You receive all thise blessing for free, yes FREE and you want to over profit of the less the fortunate? The idea behind Deseret industries is to help the community while providing honorable services. Not taking free items taxing $200 fot a dresser and expect the less fortunate to pay it. Leaving us with no options but to walk away and seeing those wealthy members of the church purchase those very necessary items we cant even afford. You should be ashamed and im going to make it my mission to make this public and known. May the lord forgive youre greedy hearts

I shop in this store frequently But looking to start going to Savers As there is One Manger Who Everytime I have a Question in Price is Not only Rude But Extremely Rude and Put Down,, This is a Thrift Store Not a Antique Store and Some of the prices are ridiculous for Used Items .. This Manager I have witness as well raking the workers under her over the coals. She seems to be a Very Unhappy Person.. I am not sure that I will continue to go to this Store anymore.. Other then This One Manager I have found the other help there very nice and easy to work with.. But this manager is turning people away from your store...

This deseret industries store location in sandy is Horrible!!!! The store itself is nice and clean, lots of parking, lots of merchendise, but the prices are HORRIBLE!!!!!! They are insanely HIGH!!!! What is wrong with these people!!??? They want to get rich from this junk! For gods sake, they get everything for free! Why do they jack their prices up sooo high?! Its just frustrating. Out of all the deseret industries ive gisited, this is one of the few out there with insanely high prices.! If you reslly want bargains, DO NOT shop here. You will get ripped off! On my experience, im never coming back here again.

This is a thrift store and it is quite good considering that. They have lots of options in clothing, toys, books, yard items, furniture, collectibles, bikes, electronics, movies, etc. The biggest problem on much of it is price. I have seen them charging much more than things are worth from time to time. This can change from time to time and I think it depends on who is putting the price on everything. This location is so much nicer than the last location they had. The last one was run down and this one is very, very nice.

This is my favorite thrift shop ever, even more so than goodwill. We were shopping for Sunday clothes and basically everything was $2, even the really nice stuff. And dont get me started on the books. Shelves and shelves of books in good condition for 50c, 75c, and sometimes a dollar. We bought a big bag of middle school age books for $10 and it was definitely worth it. Were heading back with the rest of my book-loving family and driving down the road as I type! Definitely recommend this place.

Murray DI is CREAPY, dirty & unorganized! They literally just stand and watch you like you like youre about to steal their FREE donations. The DI in Sandy (costumer since summer 2015) and certainly have noticed a STEEP price increase! I had a bunch of nice things to donate but know.....definitely not! There costumer service Ive thought has always STUNK! But now the cons far out weigh the pros and am considering taking my elsewhere. ****MANAGEMENT PLEASE MAKES SOME POSITIVE CHANGES******

Omg, Ive never seen such violence inflicted on an inanimate object. We came to donate a desk. After telling the guy that it was a little damaged, he went about destroying the entire thing. He ripped pieces from it, throwing them to the ground in an angry manner. It would have been funny if he werent so angry. I was legitimately afraid of the man and had to get into the cab of the truck in order to avoid him and his wrath. Beware the donations staff here!

Much higher prices then all of the other DIs in the valley, for the same type of merchandise (clothing two to three times the price of other DIs, used books selling for the same price they cost new, housewares double the price of elsewhere). Recommend the murray location instead (year round good prices), or provo (especially in may, when all the students move and donate lots).
