IF I COULD GIVE INCOMPETENT JCPENNEY 0 STARS, I WOULD!!!!!!!!!! THIS JCPENNEY store is a horrible, horrible store!!!!! This JCPenney store is a loser store! THIS JCPENNEY STORE IS A DISASTER! Sad!!!!! Unfortunately, Google requires that I give Incompetent JCPenney at least 1 star. I AM VERY ANGRY WITH THEIR INCOMPETENCE!!!!! They forgot to remove an ink tag on a pair of jeans that I bought there. They also have no device that beeps near the west front door if an ink tag is detected. The lack of this device meant that there was no beep when I left the store with the ink tag on the jeans still attached. Therefore, I had to drive all the way back there to have my ink tag removed. When I went into the store, I politely explained to the first employee that the store forgot to remove the ink tag. She gave me a confused look and seemed totally unwilling to help. Luckily, there was another employee who witnessed what was going on and told me to bring the jeans to her and she removed the ink tag for me instead. It is obvious to me that many of their employees are incompetent and not trained properly. They do not know how to remove the ink tags nor provide good customer service. This store also has a horrible layout. It only has one floor of merchandise while other retail stores have two to three floors of merchandise with escalators in between the floors. It is obvious that this store is an inferior store compared to other retail stores out there. I have also had problems with Linda, the Sales Manager at the time. She gave me an attitude when I tried to hand her letters regarding my concerns about the store. Admittedly, I gave her an attitude back but she asked for it!!!!! Linda feels that the rules do not apply to her. This store acts as though I am a bad person. I am not a bad person. THEY ARE THE BAD PEOPLE!!!!! THEY ARE THE ONES WHO MISTREAT CUSTOMERS LIKE MYSELF!!!!!! I have also noticed that when I go to shop at the Mens Department there that I never see the same employees. This store is clearly not retaining its employees which leads to mistakes like what happened with me. Because of Lindas poor conduct as a Sales Manager and the untrained employees, I will never shop at any JCPenney store ever again. JCPenney is not a good fit for me. JCPenney is a terrible, terrible company!!! JCPenney is a disaster of a company! JCPenney is a loser company! It is so sad!!! Linda is a bad Sales Manager. Linda has shown Unsatisfactory Work Performance as a Sales Manager and I have Concerns about her Bad Attitude. Linda is an incompetent Sales Manager. Linda should be terminated on the spot and should not be eligible for rehire! She should have her badge taken away and any JCPenney discount cards also taken away. Linda should be escorted off JCPenney property to her vehicle by the Store Manager and the JCPenney Human Resource Department since she is clearly too incompetent to do her job and is unable to provide good customer service. The customer is always right and Linda does not understand this or simply does not care. In fact, this JCPenney store should be shut down all together because this store is a bad store and has no hope. I have also tried to email JCPenney about my terrible experience and their email is down. This further proves that JCPenney does not care about customer service. Incompetent JCPenney has proven to be a dishonest company. Incompetent JCPenney is a bad company. I have terminated my relationship with JCPenney due to their Unsatisfactory Work Performance and my Concerns about the Lack of Maintaining Employees. This decision to end the relationship includes this store as well as the whole company. I have terminated JCPenney. I have rejected JCPenney. IT IS EXTREMELY LIKELY THAT INCOMPETENT JCPENNEY WILL BE OUT OF BUSINESS BEFORE TOO MUCH LONGER!!!!!!!!!! I WILL BE JUST AS HAPPY IF THEY GO OUT OF BUSINESS!!!!!!!!!! THE CLOTHING INDUSTRY IS BETTER OFF WITHOUT THEM!!!!!!!!!!

I worked here over the summer last year as my first job. Hear me out here, because if the way they treat their employees is any clue to how they treat customers youll want new management here too. When I first started I was expected to be able to have the sorting system memorized, keep the fitting room and floor of a fourth of the store clean while being called to help with the register every 2 minutes within a few days of working there. Meanwhile if you didnt get that done youd get in some pretty bad trouble. Basically 2 employees are tasked to keep one area clean. Besides the mens area which had 3 to 4 but still needed everyones help at the end of the day. That being said, there was never actually 2 people in a department because no one showed up and no one bothered to help or they were too busy to actually help. We were also told to keep coupons away from customers unless they asked and sign people up for as many credit cards as possible because the rate is double that of a normal credit card and it was probably the only way we actually made money. There were also constant mistakes with either the schedule, ringing up customers, signs, prices, anything. Theres a coupon they frequently offer to buy $10 and get $10 off however our shelves were labeled to trick you into thinking the items were $10 when they were /under/ $10. Which led a lot of people to yell at me... The final straw was when a schedule mistake happened were I was working 10 days in a row. I told my manager Id just work the shifts but when I had a question about a day in my schedule and had called the store I waited the usual 30 minutes-an hour to speak to her all I got out was "Hey I just had a question about my schedule-" before she YELLED AT ME and hung up. I never got any days I requested off no matter how long in advance Id request them, any questions I had theyd send me on a wild goose chase to other managers and once all of the managers acted passive aggressive towards me before the only nice one told me they had accused me of stealing 5$ missing from a till that had been "left open by me" and refused to check the cameras. TLDR; DONT GO HERE.

I never have been someone who grow up shopping at JCPenney or even knew much about it. I sort of had a preconceived notion in some cases but they were the minority in suburbs I grew up in. I have always heard people mention JCPenney when I have complimented them and asked them where they got their jacket, or pants, or purse. I always remember thinking, wow! I have to check that department store out. Even though intentions were there I never truly got around to it in the case of it possibly being out of the way. Once I started actually getting to look around the store I realized how much cute stuff they have. Like, seriously, blown away. They even have stuff for my dogs! I love their clearance 50-70% off zone. It is incredible the deals you can find there! They separate it from men and womens and possibly plus sizes too I believe as well as athletics. Sephora is in here and they dont have as much as the actual Sephora-- they definitely have my most shopped brands. Theyve got the perfume, the Sephora brand makeup, benefit, urban decay, NARS, and more. They even have a salon which I didnt know for the longest time but love the concept and overall experience of being able to accumulate points for getting my hair done that I can use on clothing.. amazing! They also always seem to have super good prices for services as well as promotions. For the most part the salon products seem to be continually on promotions. I have seen buy one get one half off as well as clearance on salon products ranging from 25-70% off! They even have 25% off of Styling products and they sell some of the best curling irons and blow dryers. Ive seen coupons for services as well as products in the jcpenney catalog and some other places but yeah, not half bad and this location isnt super crowded like others in Salt Lake City.
