Best shop ever. Ive been going to Heart of Gold for years now. The first thing that drew me in was that I went into several shops to look for a good artist, and everywhere I went every artist said the same thing, "yeah, I can do that, thatd be easy man." Until I walked into HoG and talked to Oscar who told me "Thats awesome man, I love the idea, but honestly thats not my style. Here, check out this artists book, I think he might be a better fit for what you want." Talk about a class act. The shop is clean, all the guys are funny, I trust each of them to do incredible work on whatever it is I walk in with. Im never over charged, Ive actually been cut pretty sweet deals on some of my tattoos that should have cost way more than they did. Ive recommended this place to anyone who asks about getting tattooed, and everyone I send here loves it. As for the girl who says, "I guess Heart of Gold didnt care about the money they wouldve made from me" & "I was here for a solid week and they couldnt get me in" Sounds sad that you decided to go to a shop that would squeeze you in and rush your first piece to make money off of you. Stick with shops that want you in for plenty of time to do good work, and dont just care about making a quick buck off first timers.

After reading all the great reviews on heart of gold tattoos Facebook, yelp, and many other online sites; I thought they would be the best place to get my first tattoo. I was very disappointed to find out that they had horrible customer service and didnt want to listen to me. Then when I asked them to give my name and number to the visiting artist they gruggingly took my information. When I called back a few hours later to see if he was back they said he havent returned from lunch. And even though I was going to be in town for a solid week they could not find any time to fit me in. I was willing to pay for a good tattoo I had budgeted for at least 600 for my first tattoo. The artist I did find to help create my tattoo made a great tip from me for the amazing job she did. She got about 30% tip. But I guess heart of gold tattoo doesnt have any interest in money from a clean canvas. I would never go back here.

These guys are extremely rude and unprofessional. I tried calling AND emailing to make and appointment and they never called or emailed back so I just came in. I got my tattoo done on my back, and I made another appointment to finish it. When I came in at 6:30 on a Friday (my time I scheduled for, also paid for already), the dude was doing some other guys tattoo so he made me wait. Half an hour later they ended up telling me I had to leave because I had my baby with me. Like why didnt they say that to begin with...Anyways, my sister went back in to grab my deposit I put down since he made me go all the way down there and he was too busy (even though I scheduled), and they told me I cant get it back. They were being rude to her cuz she asked. So I paid for a tattoo thats not even finished. Definitely not going back. The guys there are disrespectful assholes!

Very disappointed. Did my research then stopped by today to talk with someone about getting my first tattoo. The young man at the counter poo-pooed my idea and told me that my artist was booked into eternity. When I started to ask about a different artist or modifying my idea, he just turned and walked away - mid sentence! Such disrespect. I guess my money is not good enough for them. Was prepared to pay whatever amount needed (hundreds!). Will NEVER EVER GO BACK. June 7, 2016

I was tattooed by Andrew King a few months ago. I gave him a piece of reference art and he totally blew me away with how we tweaked it to make it exactly what I wanted. He was great about listening to me and my wants and made me feel really relaxed about getting the tattoo done. The parlor itself is very clean and has a peaceful atmosphere. I would recommend anyone looking to get a tattoo done in Salt Lake to check out Heart of Gold over any other place.

Ive been tattooed by quite a few of the dudes at Heart of Gold tattoo. The shop is super clean and the environment is just an awesome experience. The tattoo artist at HOG are funny, laid back, and just overall good people and great artists that make your tattoo time one youll remember. I have been going for 6 years now and dont plan on stopping!

I got my first tattoo done by oscar totally spur of the moment. He was fast, and really professional. The other tattoo artist was really nice, and my brother, who came with me, was blown away by how awesome it was that they took a walk in, and by how clean it was. Best! I was tattooed by Oscar today for a simple, but meaningful piece. He took it as seriously as I did, which meant a lot to me. He is a great guy who made the process very enjoyable. The shop is extremely clean and the staff is all super friendly. HIGHLY recommend.

Seriously had quite an awful experience, these people dont know meaning of customer service. Never have I been treated so horribly at a tattoo parlor, shouldnt these guys have the best? Every where else I go every one is pretty dang chill, not these guys.

Walked in over Christmas break to a welcoming staff. Short wait even though it was fairly busy. Gerard (Gerald?) the apprentice was my guy. Quoted $120, but was really speedy. Ended up being $60. Cool place.
