Graywhale is a CD lovers dream, if there are any (CD lovers) left out there. I cant imagine going in there looking for a used CD or two and coming out empty handed. I go for the DVD/BluRay selection which is also expansive. They also have a small selection of video games, but its not robust. It feels like they should sell board games, but they dont. Prices are slightly high for used merchandise, but definitely much lower than new stuff. There is no parking other than metered street parking.

Easy to find what you are looking for with well labeled sections as well as an updated map/legend of the setup of different sections of genres. Staff is always offering to help and answer any questions you may have. If they dont have what you are looking for in stock, they will gladly request that item from another location if its available. Great list of employee suggestions!

Graywhale is a local institution. Its in an old building near the U of U campus. Nothing high tech about it. They employ normal, everyday people who are walking music encyclopedias. It is crowded with stuff and they always have some obscure music playing. It has a very DIY feel to it. Its chock-full of character. It is a labor of love. That is to say, it is perfect.

I would walk by this place nearly every day, and I always assumed it was dead. I was so wrong! I came by to trade in some CDs, and there was about a dozen other people in here browsing. They have a ton of entertainment "stuff." DVDs, CDs, records, video games, books, posters, and other knick-knacks. The staff is friendly and courteous, and very knowledgeable.

Staff is very helpful and the location is perfect. Good selection, sure to fulfill your nostalgia needs. In particular, I recommend coming in for record day each year. During that time, Graywhale stocks limited releases on vinyl that you will be hard pressed to find again in the future.

This Graywhale has been my best experience with them. Its a pretty small compact place. But it has a good selection of stuff. I found lots of good hip hop selections. Their staff seem like genuine nice guys. They also have a second floor with cds if you are looking for that kind of stuff.

Has a good selection of Video Games, and a great selection of Music and Film. The prices on their used movies are especially good, if you can find what you are looking for. They also carry a good selection of indie music and a decent selection of used games and music.

Graywhale is the best music store Utah has to offer! There staff is very knowledgeable and always willing to help. There lifetime membership is great for music enthusiasts. There vinyl selection is top notch! If you cant find it theyll order it for you.

Great place to buy and sell all sorts of media. Staff is generally helpful and informed. Prices are fair and selection is great in most genres. Their membership program ($20 lifetime) is phenomenal and has saved me thousands over the past decade.
