First, let me get this out of the way: The staff was friendly and helpful and good. Good job guys. My beef is not with you. I bought a king-size bed frame, or, I suppose, made a very earnest attempt to purchase a king-size bed frame. I actually went in for something else entirely, but they were having an "amazing, one-day-only, 50%-off-everything" sale that Im sure they have every day. I needed a bed so I decided to look. Once I found a bed I liked it took longer than an hour to actually buy it. Are you accustomed like I am to saying "Id like this item, here is some money" being the extent of a modern consumer transaction? At Ashley Furniture Homestore, they tell you to "take a seat" while they ring it up. Is it seriously that hard to just *beep-boop* a bed into your system or is this a ploy to get me to buy one of the velvety, supple loveseats? IM ONTO YOU FURNITURE STORE. So, you know how when you hand people money for a good or service, thats usually the end of the transaction? Well, after my card had been approved and the purchase finalized, I had the distinct privilege to sign a lot of paper work - twice! You could probably adopt a child and sign less paperwork. And lets be real here, I didnt read the paperwork very thoroughly, I very well might have adopted a child. They told me it would take up to 6 weeks for delivery because they build to order. This was not great news, but what do you do? They have to build the bed, Ive never built one. Its probably hard to do. But, after 7 weeks and no bed, I called them to ask where my bed was. They told me the headboard was on backorder and theyd call me to let me know when it was in stock. Wait. Arent these beds built to order? Why arent you just building the headboard? Are you in a bad contract with Big Headboard, so you have to go through them instead of just being free to build? BLINK TWICE IF YOU NEED HELP. How long is it going to take? Another 6 weeks. I ended up canceling my order, a process that required me to come into the store in person (which I didnt do for 2 weeks and eventually they caved to my laziness and canceled over the phone) and I bought a bed from Crate and Barrel which was built and delivered within 2 weeks which still feels like too long in a world with Amazon Prime. Am I a paid shill for Crate and Barrel, purveyor of luxurious knick-knacks and the finest-quality organic linens? Or did Ashely Furniture Homestore send me an email asking me to review them on Google despite knowing that we both had a terrible experience dealing with each other? YOU BE THE JUDGE. Just be aware. If you go here to buy a thing, expect people to be overly kind while explaining that despite the efficency of both modern furniture making and global shipping, its going to take a lot longer than you expected to get a loveseat. Bring a book and be ready to sign a ream of paper.

If I could give fewer stars on the rating I would. The in-store experience was fine. Nothing amazing - but not horrible. However, when it came to the delivery, I have never had such a horrible experience. Customer service seems to be a term they are not familiar with. No one called to coordinate a delivery time. I took the day off work to be there for the delivery. By noon, after hearing nothing from them, I called and they were unable to find my order initially. They said they would look into it and call back. After more than an hour waiting for the return call, I called them again. I was told they would come between 3:30-5. At 5:30, we had not yet seen them so I called again. They asked for directions, which I gave them. We waited another hour and then called again. They again asked for directions and then promised they would be there between 5:30-8pm. At this point, I had taken an entire day off work, without pay, for nothing. We got another call asking for directions yet a 3rd time. After that, we were told that they would not deliver my furniture that day bc they had gone to the wrong city (despite being given explicit directions 3 times). So we had to wait until the next day to get the furniture. I spent several HOURS on hold and talking with their customer service department (customer service being a misnomer in this case). They did nothing to apologize or make up for their Terrible service. They basically insinuated that it was my problem that their service was severely lacking. One girl on the phone promised that Ashley would "make it right" and that she would call the next day to tell us what she would be able to do for us. Of course, she never called. This is just a small glimpse into the terrible experience we had. It was, in fact, so much worse than this, that we reported them to the Better Business Bureau. I would highly recommend avoiding this company at all costs. It is worth paying a little more for your furniture to not have to experience this non-service. I spent about $4000 in their store. I also spent about the same amount at RC Willey and had an amazingly positive experience there. I wish I had spent this $4000 at RC Willey instead. The furniture I got at RC Willey was better quality, the customer service was 100 times better, and I was treated with respect at RC Willey. I cannot say the same for Ashley. They screwed up - and were terribly rude to me about it, to boot.

UPDATED.. See new section below. WOW. I really should have listened to the bad reviews. I called this store in advance to see if the furniture set I was ready to buy was in stock. I was told by Marissa that this set was in fact in stock and I could have it delivered in 2 days. Great news! I just needed to show up to have my order written up. So I did about 2 hours later. Marissa had left so I was helped by a different sales girl. She even checked to make sure that the set was in stock and ready to go. Awesome, right!? We were also told that we could have 18 months financing. More on that in a minute. Well, upon writing our order up and charging our card, we were told that nothing was in stock and couldnt be delivered until 3 to 4 weeks later... Uh.. You are kidding right? I had called before hand to ensure my time wasnt wasted and told that you had all of my set in stock. Then was told upon our arrival that it was in stock. Delivery in 2 days? NO PROBLEM! After all of this, we still decided to go ahead with our order. Then the next morning my husband gets a call.. Oh, that 18 months no interest agreement we had made IN WRITING ON OUR RECEIPT is not available. Oh but we will offer you a $50 in store credit. Seriously? So we can go through this all over again? I think not. I called, spoke with Nicole the manager and cancelled our order. We will take our business to RC Willey. This company is full of lies and they really dont care. UPDATE: After posting this review on google, yelp and filing a complaint with the BBB, a higher manager called my husband with sincere apologies regarding our experience. He wanted to make it right for us. He honored our 18 month no interest plan, found our furniture and had it all delivered on the date originally promised. (The delivery guys were great, careful not to damage any walls or the furniture and put things together quickly) Also gave us free furniture protection and some money off of our order. We are thankful to him for seeing us as valued customers and treating us as such. Unfortunately due to the whole experience I cant give them 4 or 5 stars. But 3 is definitely better than the 1 previously rated.
