I went into the Layton, UT store yesterday to buy some pillows because they were on sale. I picked up 3 different pillows and went to check out. There was another lady behind me in the line to check out. An employee walked up to her and took one of her pillows stating that he had planned to buy it this morning. It was finally my turn to check out and another employee takes one of my pillows and says that she had planned to buy that one and asked where I got it from. I pointed to the pillow corner. She said that she was buying that one and couldnt sell it to me. Another male employee walks up and takes my other pillow and states he had already purchased that one this morning and that none of my pillows were in inventory anymore and could be sold to me. I couldn’t believe they were doing that. Customers come first. I took those pillows off the shelves and was in line to buy them. Employees should not be allowed to take items out of a customer’s hand and choose to purchase them. The lady who had taken my pillow also mentioned to the lady behind me that the pillow she had was also sold and she couldn’t purchase it. She was also angry because the other employee had just taken a pillow from her. The employee then informed us that if we really wanted those pillows, we can drive to the Draper store and get them. That is crap, why can’t that employee order those pillows for her and her coworkers, why take them from customers and then tell us we could drive to the other store. We asked if she could just have them transferred to this to store and she said no. I was also interested in buying a side table that had a lamp. The guy that took the first pillow from the other lady told me that he could not sell it to me because it did not have a price on it. It was on the floor, it didn’t say sold, it just didn’t have a price on it. He said that he was just going to mark it sold because he didn’t know if another customer had bought it and he didn’t want to sell it twice. Do you guys not have a way to check your inventory to see if something has been sold? I went into this store with intentions of purchasing a lot of stuff and left spending $5. I think it is horrible that a company in it to make money is not allowing customers to purchase items. The customer service at this store was horrible. I have never had items taken from me by employees stating that they had intentions to buy these items. I was very angry and still am. I also plan to leave a negative Yelp, Google review and Facebook post. I would have also spoken to the manager but he is off on Thursday and Fridays. Items that are not available to be sold should not be out on the shelves with price tags. If an employee wants to make a purchase, they should make that purchase before the store opens and take those items to their cars. They should not be allowed to take the items out of a customer’s hand. The employees at this store have a great way of saying that they are more important and that they come first.

If you have something delivered from Ashley they do not employee their own delivery crew and you will be at the mercy of the deliver company and Ashley will not help you. THE DELIVERY CREW IS NOT SUPPOSED TO BE PARKED IN YOUR DRIVEWAY! The first delivery of my daughters bedroom set on AUG 8, 2015 set came without the drawers under the bed, which wasnt a huge deal but irritating after anxiously waiting for the delivery. We were missing the drawers because the kid who sold it to me forgot to put them on the ticket. DOH! What was more irritating is that they left a large black oil stain in my driveway which has no previous oil spots. My wife called Aug 8th, and we told that a customer service rep would contact me about the oil, which never happened. Guess what happened when they came back on AUG 20th to deliver the drawers............YEP, they backed into my driveway and left another (almost identical) set of oil leaks. So I call in Aug 24th was told I would be contacted Aug 25th. Aug 25th comes around and Neil the Layton store manager calls me but says he doesnt know anything about it,but will research and call me back. I never get a direct call back from him and instead I get is the customer service calling me to tell me that the deliver company are not their employees and that "the trucks company should have some sort of insurance for this and will contact me" NEVER HAPPENED, NO CALL! Fast forward to my 1 start review. You will get nowhere talking to Nate the store manager, you will get nowhere talking to Ashley Furniture customer service, as I suppose they dont value me as a customer. They put everything on the "3rd party" trucking company which has never called me to rectify the situation. Rather then start the process again (Ive made 4-5 calls already on this and wasted a few hours) Im just going to clean the driveway myself and will not be spending my hard earned money at Ashley Furniture. Its that simple. If SOMEBODY actually took my problem and resolved it I would be ok because things happen but nobody seemed to really care. (This is after buying a complete bedroom set, muliptle furnishings, and a dinner table with chairs) Good Luck

I chose a beautiful bedroom set on line from Ashley and went to the store to see it up close. There was a young sales lady that asked if she could help us and took us directly to the bedroom set I had picked out. After a short discussion and a bit concerned about the price she said shed be right back with a price for the pieces we picked for our bed room. When she returned I was very happy with the price quote as it was much less than the tagged price. We purchased the set and waited for delivery. The delivery people were very professional and friendly. They did an excellent job of setting the whole set up. About a year later one or the drawer guides broke and we had purchased a warranty on the set and called the store, they told us we had to call a customer service number which I did and within a few days a man came out and fixed the guide. Great!!! Some time later the guide broke again and I called customer service and got a bit of a run around and I told them if the would send be the part I could change it out myself. The said ok it would be six to eight weeks. Well that seemed pretty slow but I waited. When nothing showed up I called again and talked to another customer service person and they said my part had not been ordered. Getting fed up I stayed calm and made told them I would wait again for the part. I was about to give up and buy the part myself and to my surprise a box showed up with not just a guide but 6 complete drawer guide assembly. I found that another drawer guide was broke and replaced it to and bought some metal backing plates from the drawer guide manufacturer so I shouldnt have the problem again. All in all they did come through I just had to be patient and keep at it. I dont know if the young lady that sold us the set is still there but if you get a chance to deal with her she would be a much better choice than what I have read about the other sales people. One last thing I couldnt touch a bedroom set as nice at RC Willy for the price I paid at Ashley Furniture In Layton.
