Nearly every time I go in there I struggle to find anyone that knows what there talking about. This is the last phone call conversation I had with them that is very indicative of nearly all my experiences there: Me: do you guys carry any tetracycline? Her: Im not sure ... (pause for about 10 seconds thinking she had a follow up comment) Me: Well... can you find out? Her: ummmm... yeah just one second. ...(wait for about 5 minutes while she goes to find out). Her: are you there? Yeah we dont carry that. (Another 10 second pause expecting some other kind of help it redirection)... Me: do you know if you carry any antibiotics safe for rabbits? Her: yeah Im not sure. Youll have to come in and look at our selection. It was obvious by now that she wasnt really interested in helping me out... so I went to Dallas Green. They are awesome there! Lady there called a personal friend to help me with answers to my questions! Its 30 minute round trip drive vs cal ranchs walking distance from my house , but well worth the trip! The only value that cal ranch has is an employee named Julie. She is excellent and so incredibly helpful, invested, friendly and knowledgeable (especially about chickens). She is the only reason I could muster a 2 star rating. Sorry Julie.

Absolutely the worst service I have ever received. We came in about an hour to closing just to get a gift card, we got to the cash register and had to wait for the employee to finish a personal conversation with a friend who wasnt purchasing anything. I totally get talking to your friend when its close to closing and its slow. But when a paying customer comes up, end your conversation take care of the customer then go back to friend. When telling another associate about the issue we were told "not to be afraid to say something" its not my job to tell your workers to do their job. All of this occurring while a manager watched. A bunch of disrespectful teenagers working there with management that doesnt care.

I go to my local CAL ranch in Layton all the time and I like the relaxed feel. I like that the employees joke and that they talk to each other a little. If you want faceless and quick customer service go to some big box outdoor store. I,however, like the small town feel of the store. The employees have always been plenty helpful. My kids walk or ride bikes from our house to go buy stuff there and the employees have learned their names and always help them count out their money etc... I love places like this that arent in such a hurry, rather they take time to teach a kid!

Fishing supplys - minute we walked in red vest worker following us around the store. Didnt ask if we needed help, watching us through every department we went to. Treated us like we were going to take something. Well they lost my business and never going to return. Items were overly priced anyways. Going to Dicks sporting @ the mall. Leased they treat customers right.

Staff is elusive but mostly polite. They have some stuff but other things lack in variety of sizes etc. Work boots were all over the place, aisles were a mess and items were in the wrong location and not priced. Poor selection available for shoe sizes in the various footwear categories. But they do have good prices, some nice stuff and decent sales on FRC.

I have always been treated well and enjoy going to the store my only concern is at time they tell you they have no 22 ammo and 5 minutes later ill have a family member go in and they will magically have plenty of ammo so i hope they fix that issue other then that it has been a great store

The store is in pretty good shape. Honestly, I just go here to access the America First Credit Union inside. Based on looks alone, it seems like a decent store.
