Horrible customer service. Every time I go to this store, the employees act like they dont care and as though they hate their jobs. I have observed an employee at a register tossing items around on counters while being rude to customers. Other employees dont seem to know anything about the merchandise. I called the store to ask if they had any 380 ammunition in stock. When the person in the firearms department said they had several boxes, I asked if the ammunition was hollow point or full metal jacket. The employee had no idea what I was asking about. The employee eventually told me they had both types of ammunition, but when I arrived at the store 10 minutes later, they only had full metal jacket. As slow as the store was when I went, I doubt they sold out of all those boxes of hollow points in 10 minutes. The only reason I ever go to this store is when I cant find what I need at a competitors store, such as when a local competitor is sold out of a specific type of ammunition or product. Of course, Gander Mountain will likely have the product and local competitors will be sold out, because Gander Mountain has such terrible customer service and pricing that customers are shopping elsewhere. Its a shame...Gander Mountain has the potential to be a great place to shop, but they would need to fire most of their current employees, hire and train new employees that will actually treat customers with respect, and provide competitive pricing; which from all of the signs, tells me that the stores management is the problem. Ive found better customer service and experience at Wal-Mart and McDonalds.

My experience here has been mainly with firearms and related staff. One employee stood out. His name is Edward and he works behind the gun counter. He is very knowledgeable. I was shopping for a new carry gun and asked Edward to show me the FN Five-seveN. He correctly informed me that it was pretty large for a carry gun. I still had to have it. He showed me how to take it apart and put it back together. I asked about a light/laser combo and he was very knowledgeable showing me different options at varying price points. He was not pushy at all and very attentive. Edward urged me to purchase their store warranty for both the firearm and the laser/light combo and because of my confidence in his knowledge, I purchased both. I returned yesterday to exchange the light/laser combo on which I had broken the light switch. Edward remembered me from weeks before and recommended that I take a look at another combo that was a little more expensive, but a lot sturdier to take my abusive ownership. He took the time to show me how it operated, review the documentation and included instructions with me. It was closing time and he definitely wasnt trying to rush me out of the store. I highly recommend that if you are going to buy a firearm, ammo, or accessories. Call up first and be sure Edward is working. He will take GREAT care of you! Enough about that. This store has everything! Their stock of firearms is HUGE! Even if you arent looking to buy, go check out their impressive selection.

If were negative stars...that is what these people deserve. I went in to look at fish finders. The selection was lacking but better than the local competition so I chose a fish finder. I had a question about it and there was not an associate to be found. After scouring the store, I found one that had no clue about the product that I purchased. I simply asked if the GPS was included or if I had to have a separate speedometer cable. He called some other associate on the radio who said it was included in the GPS. Well...the model I bought did not come with GPS....Stupid. I wanted to buy a complete package so I did not have to go online or some other mechanism of stupidity. I partly blame the manufacturer for not clearly stating it on the box...however, having a knowledgeable sales person would have solved the issue. Absolutely not impressed with this store. I probably will not shop there again. From the looks of things...no one else is either.

Went there shopping for a firearm for my wife who is going into parole. We were the first ones at the counter. Nobody came and asked if we needed assistance they all just stared at us. I heard one say "this is a waste of time they have no money" Then another customer showed up and they waited on him while he was there another customer showed up and they waited on him too. Well while those customers were there I got right between them took out my wallet and flopped down two grand on the counter and I talked real loud for the manager to hear "I have no money huh, so you wouldnt take any time to show me anything. Well guess what you just lost a customer." When I said that the other two put the guns down that they were looking at and said "you lost me too." I will not go back to Gander Mountain!

I went by Gander Mountain in Tyler today and needed assistance with ordering a gun case, buying a game camera and predator call. Zach took time to help me with everything I needed. He went to the back in attempt to find a specific case I was looking for and when it wasnt in stock he helped me place the order online. He took time to explain the things I needed for the game camera and predator call as well. His professionalism, assistance and kindness will have me returning to Gander Mountain for years to come. I will also be sharing this experience with several of my friends who frequent the store. Totally impressed with this young mans attitude and professionalism, especially after an experience we had recently with another nationally known outdoors company.

I have been in and out of this store several times in the past few weeks, deciding between different options, asking for comparisons, etc. On each of my visits I have been treated with respect by an intelligent and friendly staff, and on multiple times someone has "gone out of their way" to help me with odd requests or questions they didnt have immediate answers to. Most recently I have had a few interactions with Zach, and have been very impressed. I appreciate all his help, am becoming more and more fond of the franchise in general as a result, and was surprised to find out he has only been working for Gander Mountain for a few months. Well done hiring Zach; I hope he is an employee I can work with for a long time to come!

The other day I stopped by Gander for the first time because a friend told me they had a great selection, and WOW did they! I went in to look at a few different pistols that I can conceal carry later on. (Ive never owned a gun before and have only gone shooting a few times, so needless to say Im new to this whole thing) When I arrived I was greeted by Zach, who was very polite and extremely knowledgeable about every gun we looked at. He took the time to walk me through each ones pros and cons until we found the perfect match for me! I love shooting my new pistol and I really enjoyed my shopping experience at Gander Mountain, thanks to Zach. I will definitely be coming back and asking for him every time!
