I have dealt with many bike shops & I have never had the displeasure of the poor PR skills of the staff at this store. I felt like I was regarded as a burden & I felt like the staff felt superior to me & made me feel like I was the one doing the work of communicating. I have to say the only employee who was helpful & respectful was Daniel. He was the youngest of the staff members & fortunately will upgrade his mature skills to a job more to his style. He sure is out of his league at this store. That league being well below his level of respect. Mitch aka supposed store manager was rude & talked over me & didnt allow me to communicate my needs & even spewed a patronizing remark to have nice day among other similar remarks of disrespect. This supposed manager also hounded me. And then went so far as to say I had a misunderstanding of his communication style. I have been in professional for 20+ years & certainly know when I am being disrespected & patronized. I also know good PR skills & what it takes to allow the customer even a chance to get past the first two sentences. This was not the only member of their staff who was degrading & disrespectful during our interaction. I have many more comments I could add. But the main thing is that I hopefully can get something done to change future costumers from having to deal with the unfortunate stressful issues Ive had to endure. I have sent an email to the bike barn comapny & also contact the SPECIALIZED company in hopes of doing just that. However, in the mean time, do yourself a favor & find a store that has respect in their communication!!!!! I very much regret giving them as much business as I did. Learn from my mistake & go to a store with the usual respect that Im used to receiving. Good luck fellow bikers!

Very surprised by the negative reviews. I met a couple guys that work there who truly love what they do and to me that means a lot. They helped my wife, my self and my best friend pick out bikes that we all love. I brought mine back for a few adjustments and its been amazing even for an entry level MTB. I met Julio who is the first guy you should ask for when you walk in. This guy really enjoys what he is doing and is very excited when it comes to biking. He recommended so many things for me and my wife that have REALLY helped us. If you want someone to sell you the right bike ask for Julio! Tim is the guy who worked on my bike and I dont mean he made a few adjustments I mean he really made changes and went out and beat on the bike to make sure I would not have issues. He came back sweating and was eager to see how I felt about the bike when I was done testing it. He did an amazing job and these guys have my business for life. I am sure you can buy bikes cheap online but you wont get this kind of support. I almost made that mistake and after testing bikes at multiple places... My self.. My wife.. and my best friend 67" tall! all decided Specialized bikes are what we wanted. Thank you guys so much for your effort. The low rating at this time for google reviews isnt right. Everyone is VERY quick to make negative reviews.. I believe in the positive ones when it is earned. Thank you so much Julio and Tim. I cant wait to see you guys again and finally talk my wife into that purple helmet!

After she bought a bike from them, my girlfriend had to keep taking it back and was going in month after month and getting her bike "non-warranty repaired". After a few months I realized that they were completely taking advantage of her (shes not very mechanical), and performing totally unecessary services. They were charging her hundreds of dollars to do things like adjusting the brake pads or replace parts that were perfectly good. That is on top of the already signifigant markup she paid on the bike that she could have gotten for 40% less on the web. When I went in to pick up the bike for her one day, I spoke with the manager about why they needed to replace a pedal and chain. The pedal was brand new, and I installed it myself. He claimed it was "damaged" but had already thrown it away and couldnt show me the damage. The chain was replaced on a bike that had maybe 175 miles on it, and again he couldnt show me the defective part. $250 later, I have asked her not to frequent the bike barn any more. Go to Performance over on 1960. Performance has better mechanics and sales people that wont rip you off. Bike barn: Love the bike, hate the barn.

When it comes to bikes it is so important to talk to people that actually have experience in riding the bikes that they sell. Im a big guy and use my bike for fitness and also fun. Every time I go into bike barn I look for Curt or Claudia. I know that they will shoot straight with me and give me what I actually need to have fun on the bike instead of just sell a bunch of stuff I dont need. Curt showed me a new stumpjumper that fit my riding style and weight perfectly. I used to ride 2 a week, now I ride almost every day. My rides are safer as well because I have the proper setup. Carter is also great mechanic that is honest and gives good advice on how to save money on repairs by keeping up with scheduled maintenance. This place is for people that love bikes man. They really do get a kick out of matching up riders with the right bikes. They did a great job with me, I highly recommend checking them out.

These guys are a joke! They have absolutely no customer services skills and I dont think they know anything about bikes either. I went in to buy a new $4k+ bike. Had the money. Already decided what I wanted. It was basically the same style that I had bought 10 years ago from a different Bike Barn location. The first guy was more interested in helping people check out their inner tubes than sell a bicycle. When he finally showed up, he tried to talk me out of what I wanted and tried to sell me something that I didnt want. Left me standing there to go wait on someone else. Finally, I got another salespersons attention. Just as bad. Not interested in selling a bike, more interested in working the cash register. I finally walked out with my money in my pocket and no bike. Go somewhere else where they really are interested in helping. Other Bike Barn locations may be better.

Looking for a new road bike we were greeted by Keith and was the most helpful person I have come across in a long time. I was going to make a purchase that day if it was not for the way the manager Curt was his name if I recall correctly. Treated this guy bad and Keith would just smile and deal with this guys attitude. I believe Keith is new to the store and did not know everything there is about bikes but he went out his way to help us out to the best of his knowledge. The manager on the other hand was so rude to this gentleman that if thats how they treat a fellow employee I dont want to be a customer to that store nor would I like to deal with that man. If someone in charge is reading this I would make Keith a manager in a heartbeat he would really give a boost in customer service to your establishment.
