Ive been a resident of Council Bluffs for over 15 years and have watched this shop steadily decline in both selection and service under the management of the owners son. They have a limited selection of brands due to non payment to the major manufacturers of Trek, Giant, etc. The employees will lie to you to get you to buy an "in stock" bike as opposed to ordering the correct size for the customer. Steve, Dennis and Will are more interested in tearing down and working on their motorcycles in the rear of the shop than selling bicycles. True Wheel used to be the premier bike shop in the OmahaCouncil Bluffs area. That is no longer the case. The Bike Rack in Omaha consistently beats True Wheel on prices for both bikes and accessories.With respect, the below reviewers must be easily impressed or are True Wheel employees. If you want to stay local to CBluffs then try Endless Trails Bikes just off Broadway.

ive been talking about getting a bike for a couple of months now and some friends recommended i check out true wheel, where they had purchased their bikes. i thought i was still in the "window shopping" phase of my looking, having visited one other shop and done a lot of online research. once i got into the store, steve was so kind and knowledgeable that i knew that--even if i didnt buy a bike that day--i was going to leave the store a more educated consumer, which i very much appreciated. i told him what i was looking for and he matched me up with a bike that was all i had hoped for and more at a great price. he took the time to make sure it was fitted properly and made adjustments to the gears and brakes so i left the shop with a bike that was ready to hit the road. id definitely tell my friends to buy a bike from true wheel, hands down.

This place (and the owner) is simply amazing. I was bicycle touring across the U.S. and just barely knowledgeable about my bike. I often just fixed things so they were barely working. I stopped in to replace a broken spoke (Im ignorant enough not to carry spares), and get a small maintenance package to get my chain cleaned, new brake pads, etc. In a single afternoon, the owner discovered and fixed a litany of things wrong with my bike. Everything from a bent hanger to readjusting my shifters to hit all my gears. Oh, and the most ridiculous thing -- he guessed the total mileage on my bike (12k) just from the wear and tear of all the various components. This place is definitely an Omaha-area gem.

Recently was in the market for a new bike for both myself and my wife. As I am not a "bike expert" I was not certain what it was I was even looking for. Needless to say they helped answer all of my questions and got me on a bike in my price range and were able to answer all of my questions. After my wife purchased her bike from a private seller, they did a tune up and a complete run over of her bike for free, and also informed us they would take care of her free of charge for the rest of the upcoming bike season. Needless to say, it was service you wouldnt get from a real fancy or big store.

Dont overlook this shop. I have always been turned off by the snootiness of most bikeshops, feeling I didnt know enough or wasnt worthy of touching the stuff in the store. Went into a shop 2 blocks from my house and left with nothing. Called True Wheels on a referral and Dennis spent a half hour on the phone with me. Drove over 2 days later where Will and Dennis spent a ton of time with my wife and I and NO pressure. Didnt make me feel stupid. Bought TWO bikes on the spot. Well done. Now I drive right past the bike shop on the corner and over to True Wheels for anything I need.

We were in the market for a new road bike and have been shopping around council bluffs and Omaha all spring. We walked into True Wheels only on a whim and not expecting to find out anything new. We received the best service and learned so much more about what to look for in a bike. They have a great selection and by far the most knowledgable employees/owner. We walked out with a new Jamis Steele frame bike and cant wait to hit the road. Dont miss this little shop on your quest for a bike. Located in Downtown Cb.

My Experince at True wheels bicycle co is amazing. Great Workers their will help you with all your bicycle needs. They fix any bike you can think of. They have helped me many times with all my bmx needs. They can get anything hubs wheels axles protective needs anything you can think of. You will never have bad things when you go to True Wheels. True Wheels is runned by 3 people and their great they have a big bikeing community your love it at True Wheels.

My girlfriend and I both recently purchased bikes from here. We are from Des Moines and really like Jamis bikes, but arent that crazy about the local dealer. We drove out to Council Bluffs to check these guys out and are glad we did. Steve, Dennis and Will were all extremely helpful throughout our whole experience. They were very accomodating when it came to sizing the bike for my girlfriend. Plus they have a cat and I like cats.

Took my trusty Iron Horse in recently for service and they did an excellent job. About a year ago they were my savior for a tire for my road bike when everyone else in town was closed or just had horrible customer service. These guys are great and very knowledgeable about bicycles. I will be a dedicated customer while I live in the Council Bluffs area. Thanks to everyone there for superior service.

Awesome store... Best in the Omaha/Council Bluffs area BY FAR! I hadnt been on a bike for years and was riding RAGBRAI with with boyfriend... well, I needed a great bike. They recommended the perfect bike, which was on sale because it was last years model. It was a great deal, Im so happy with it, and the service there was beyond incredible. These guys deserve six stars!!!! Thank you!!!

After spending a month of endless searching for the perfect bike expanding beyond two states, I stumbled upon True Wheel in Council Bluffs. After receiving the most knowledgeable and honest service I am proudly a new owner of a Jamis road bike. The staff was friendly, intelligent and genuine. Best bike shop in the Omaha/Council Bluffs area.

My bike was stolen from my front yard, I went shopping and ended up here. The guys were really helpful in finding the right bike for my needs. They fit me to the bike and added a basket to the back. I love the ride it gives me. I cant thank them enough for all the help that was given.
