Very unprofessional. They told me to update my computer it would cost 37.50 and that it would take 1 or 2 business days to fix. 4 business days later, I had to call them and was told that the "main tech guy" was out and other people had to work on it and would take a few days. 7 business days later, I got to pick it up and was told it would cost $86, and I was obviously upset because I told them I teach and dont get paid in the summer, so I was happy that it was only going to be $37.5, but they claimed they never said it would cost only $37.5. They proceeded to tell me that they had to do other things to it (including removing and not reinstalling all of the programs on my computer... so basically I paid $86 for a wiped computer and my Microsoft Office gone) and charged me more, which is contradictory to their first statement. As I was debating with the employees, the owner came out and said, "Sorry I had a stroke and couldnt fix your computer sooner," which is an extremely unprofessional thing to say as a way to try to guilt me for paying more. I was ready to go in their and not give them grief for taking a week to update my computer, but the sudden double in price made things different. I dont like giving awful reviews, but the unprofessional way they treated this situation is something that I think should be in the open. Dont be in the customer service business if youre going to jerks. As a final note, if you notice, whenever someone leaves a negative review, the owner replies with a rude remark. This man does not care about resolving issues. He is combative, and unprofessional, and from my experience today, so are his employees (i.e his children).

Bill graduated from Texas Tech with some degree in Engineering which he hangs on his stores wall... I am both a mechanical and electrical engineer major at Texas Tech, and I recently took my laptop in to get a screen installed. I replaced the original screen myself and the new one simply fried during a week of tests I had. With no time to do the 2nd replacement myself I explained the situation to Bill and brought him the computer with the faulty screen already off.. and the new screen in hand. The install itself must have taken him 15 minutes max if his degree is anywhere near legitimate. I came back the following day and he attempted to justify why his "standard" price was 65$ when I did half the job for him. He takes advantage of young college kids who dont know much about computers, and sadly I made the mistake of letting him do this to me despite the fact I could have done it myself. Bill will get the job done, but chances are you can get it done much cheaper or do it yourself without having to deal with Bill and his daughter he uses as a workhorse. Thanks for the 15 minute install bill, now I can see what Im writing on my reviews. I hope I get paid $120+ an hour to play on computers with my degree(s)......

Only took Bill 2 days to resolve the issue. Not only did he fix the BSOD (PC crashing) problem, my PC is running extraordinarily faster at startup. My computer didnt have any scratches on it that werent already there, my singular sticker wasnt even perturbed. Diagnostics here is about 33% cheaper than bringing it into Best Buy, and the manual tune up he does is absolutely insane with an exceptionally good price, also cheaper than your regular corporate services. Manual tune up, (from what I can see) includes an intense defragging of your hard drive, *manual registry work* (wont find that almost anywhere else), complete malware and virus scans, complete driver update, memory tests, and more thats over my head. Saved a great bit of money and time, would recommend this nice guy to anyone. And remember, no matter how expensive your fix is, I know enough about computers to know hell save you money and possible future repairs.

I brought my computer in because it would not turn on and i read the reviews so it seemed like a good place. Bill was a nice guy and i expected good work from him. I left my laptop with him over night and when i received it back there were permanent cuts on the laptop from where i guess he tried to open the laptop up. He also lost a screw! He said it was probably somebody else who opened the laptop but he was the only one ever to open up the laptop. A sticker on the back of my laptop was ripped. I dont know why that would of happened. My laptop still does not work and is being shipped back home where maybe the extra warranty I bought might help if the damage Bill caused doesnt void it. The only thing Im happy with is that he was able to transfer all my files to a flash drive for $50. All in all I was not satisfied with his work. I expected better care for my laptop which for a college student is very important.

I got my laptop back today after just a few days and it is working great! I am so grateful! Not only do I chart all my work notes online, but I am also in school and have had to go to the public library to do my work and assignments when my computer messed up. It would just hang up after about 5 minutes and I constantly had to reboot it. The Computer Guy found a trojan virus on it and got rid of it and now my computer is running as good as new! Thanks so much, what a guy!

Took my laptop to this man at the beginning of the semester. He checked in my laptop, and had it ready to go the next day. He gave me an honest quote (more or less best case and worst case for my issue). This man is very much so a mans man, hes not going to lie to you. If you need swift, honest service go to this man. My laptop is in excellent condition, havent had any issues with it, therefore I am completely satisfied by his work.

Really satisfied with my desktop that The Computer Guy built for me a few months back. I have been using it everyday and it runs awesome. Bill knows what hes doing and has been in the computer industry for a long time. I recommend going to The Computer Guy for all your Computer/laptop repair or needs. He can fix any minor thing or build a custom computer for you. I will be back for any computer service if im in Lubbock.

My experience with The Computer Guy was great. My computers power supply bit it, and this man addressed the issue, and my baby was fixed in just a few hours. I was impressed with his service, and he wasnt up in my mug trying to sell me a bunch of hooey or services. The place was very clean and neat. And I look forward to turning to this man any time I have a technical issue.
