I called today to look for arm and chest protection and Corey in the Team Sports department helped me out with care and the best customer service Ive received in a long time! It wasnt related to team sports but rather just protection for my boyfriend at his new factory job and he took the time to look up several products for me and check availability- even though I was just a phone inquiry he really went out of his way to help me. Every other store I called acted like there was no versatility in the product, that it had to be used for sports and got short and frustrated with me that I was even calling them. They would not even entertain the idea of helping me figure out what I could get. Corey has attention to detail and a desire to help out the best he can. He used his product knowledge and applied it to an unusual real life situation that would have been hard for anyone to answer but he didnt miss a beat. He even offered to show me the products to compare them and if I wasnt stuck at work I would have definitely gone. I wouldnt buy it anywhere else now! 5 stars for Corey (or Cory maybe).

I dont know why I try going anywhere else when it comes to sporting goods and athletic wear for my kids. Every time I go anywhere else I always end up at academy - dont know why I waste my time trying somewhere else first. Customer service is terrible at Cardinals - their staff is not helpful at all (I have had more than one bad experience there, and will not be going back). Academys staff is typically very helpful, and if they dont know where to find something, they dont send you on a wild goose chase, they actually ask someone else, or go look for it themselves. Maybe cardinals should send their staff to learn a thing or two from academy employees.

The worst experience I have ever had at an academy! I was so disappointed in the lack of help and the lack of merchandise! My husband and I were looking for infant snowsuits as well as a new ski jacket or vest for myself and we were not helped AT ALL! We walked by multiple groups of employees who were just standing around talking to one another about their new cars, or the place they worked in their hometown, and I have to say I was very unimpressed. I personally work in a customer service industry, and cannot believe that this was allowed to go on. Employees seemed like they were avoiding helping us, and that is unacceptable.

Love the store, but.......I am very pissed off because i can not find those Austin jeans anywhere,...Your store stopped carrying them and now im forced to wear others from kmart,....i dont like the ‹other " stylized" jeans you guys carry,....Ive tried online, and found that there are other men searching for the same jeans,.....We are like chickens running around with our head cut off...........im down to my last 2 Austin jeans and although they have lasted a while,...they are looking pretty rough,.....If i dont find some jeans quick,..Im gonna start throwing bodies.....

I went 2 times to buy shoes for my mother. I believe the employee who helped me the second time was named Desmond. He was professional, polite, and very nice. The store is clean, never busy, I was in and out both times, there is a greeter, and they have a wonderful return policy. I am a satisfied customer. 2/26/16- The inventory is so crappy. I have been back two times, and they do not have my shoe size in what I want. Poor Elijah tried to help me in vain.

I love this store. Great selection on fishing gear, they have everything you want plus some you didnt know you wanted at reasonable prices! I also buy my work boots here although sometimes they dont have the ones I want in stock usually a good selection. I enjoy cooking on the grill this is also where I buy my wood for smoking and grilling, they have large bags of grilling logs at a very good price.

I usually just come here for ammo and firearms although I do buy camo and stuff for the lake here as well. My FFL usually can get me the best deals on firearms but some times he cant even beat academy for firearm prices. Out of all the outdoor big box stores I have to say Academy is in a realm of its own. No one comes close to them on prices.

Went to go buy a .22 rifle and On the front doors said price match. I had to call a different store for them and the manager still would price match because of the rifle color was different. Same rifle. Then she wouldnt sell me the 500 box rounds of .22 ammo she showed me that they had. Spent my money elsewhere.

90% of the time I go to this store I meet the rudest staff, was looking for a speed loader for my gun and the guy I asked tells me, "see where it says R.E..L..O..A..D..I..N..G... in other words he pronounced the word like I was a uneducates fool!!!!

It has a large selection of various sports products and they are well organized so it is easy to find what you want. The prices are reasonable and there are always some discounted items. The whole environment is nice and the staff are helpful.

The sales people were so helpful and accommodating. We were wanting the doughnut floatie. They were looking up in the rafters for us! She ordered it for us and it was at our house in two days!!

Good lower level sporting goods store. they have everything you would ever want but not always the quality of some nicer chains. staff isnt particular knowledgeable but they get the job done.

This store has pretty much anything sports-related youd want. Selection is mostly centered around traditional sports and fitness, with very little selection for any kind of action sports.

Helpful gun counter staff on my visit but I wasnt able to find what I wanted. Other than that, enjoyed my visit and found plenty of things I didnt plan to get when I came in.

The store feels really crowded. However, they probably have what you are looking for. Clearance sales are usually pretty good. I really dont like their parking lot.

A little pricy, but a good selection of work out and team sports gear, if youre looking for camping/backpacking gear try Gander Mountain or Mountain Hideaway

Good prices but the selection is somehow narrow. They seem to get older models? Im not sure but is a good place to get what you need at an affordable price.
