Take the vehicle to a mechanic before purchase. Purchased a truck here a year ago and dearly wished I had not. Ignoring the totally absent post-sale service, below is a list of issues that were not disclosed: The check engine light had been removed from the vehicle. This was a truck the dealer purchased at auction, so one can. It accuse them directly. However, three other mechanics instantly recognized this issue. The quality control at Roberts Auto Sales seems to not be very good. Several check engine light error codes related to emissions. Because the check engine light had been removed, I was unaware during purchase. The error code count was three and ranged included the EVAP system and catalytic converters. The truck had been wrecked and repainted. This truck was formerly a company truck and it appears when the truck was damaged, the company paid out of pocket so there was no indication in the vehicle history. Several auto body shops quickly identified this and pointed the issues out to me. Again, the quality control efforts are minimal. The truck did not have any tire pressure sensors installed. It seems most likely the trucks computer had been reset so the light was not on during the test drive. The sync-cycle for the sensors can go up to 40 miles, so this issue was not apparent until after I had driven the vehicle back to Austin. I am forced to believe there was malicious intent as the oil change indicated several hundred of miles since the oil change Robert Auto Sales claimed to have done, meaning the computer was intentionally reset or lied about the oil change. The plastic covering the gauge cluster was broken and Robert Auto Sales agreed to repair it (even included in the terms of sale). To date the part has not arrived to perform the repairs. The dealer quoted a little over $400 to replace the cover but refused to do so without also replacing the entire cluster due to liability of the check engine light status and emission related error codes. The other damage was typical, though frustrating, of a company used truck. Since the day of purchase Ive been disappointed in the customer service. The issues below have been the primary problems. The internet price was $1,000 less than the price they had prepared the contract for. They were curtains enough to stay late to complete the sale, but there was no one available to make the adjustment. I had already placed a deposit on the truck and was led to believe if I did not take the truck that night that there was another buyer coming the next day and I would loose my deposit. I was told theyd look into it and send me the difference as a check. They claimed the price was never lower. I sent a snap shot of the webpage to several employees and. Ever heard back from any of them. Though mentioned above, wanted to again state that the replacement gauge cluster cover never arrived. Several times I was told "it will be here this week." When the issues revolving around the check engine light and truck having been wrecked before came up I was directed to bring the truck back for an assessment by Roberts Auto Sales. I went back twice, both times I was told no one was available to look at the truck. I made no further attempt to take the truck back. This led to me emailing the owner at which point I received a text message (I may have called as well, cant recall now) and his solution was to send me a check for $1,000. When I explained that there was more than $1,000 difference between purchase price and repairs/depreciation due do unknown conditions and that Id like to discuss a mutually beneficial solution face to face, I never heard anything back. This last exchanged occurred roughly 4 months ago, 8 months after the purchase. Im an understanding and patient person. Roberts Auto Sales did make offers, such as come exchange the truck for another, but at the time they had nothing comparable and within my budget. Overall, dissatisfied. TAKE ANY POTENTIAL PURCHASE TO AN OUTSIDE MECHANIC!

DONT BUY A CAR FROM HERE!!! Read yelp reviews which shows many unpleased costumers (which I failed to read). Be careful because you could be the next person with my terrible experience. I typed a letter to the owner, and I called several times, but owner is ignoring me and has still not returned my called or contacted me in any way. I bought a 2010 Toyota tundra on May 16, 2015. Had their mechanic test drive with me because I heard a rattle notice on the side of the car. He said that it was a “plastic fender flopping somewhere against the vehicle.” So I took the truck home. On my way home the engine light came on about 71 miles away from the dealership. It was Saturday and after 5 by now and they are closed on Sunday. When I got home the car was running rough and white smoke coming out of the exhaust. I took the car to a local mechanic and was informed that the truck had bad catalytic converters ($1,500), spark plugs were old, there is a misfire on cylinder 2&6, door lock actuators do not work in the front, and tailgate does not unlock. Mechanic said that oil plugs appear to be contaminated with oil and would have to spend more money so they can look inside the motor. I do have to say that the salesman that helped me out was really nice and I dont blame any of this on him. If you have any issues with this dealership you can contact Office of Consumer Credit Commissioner for complaints.

When I tried to purchase a car from these people I was actually harassed.. I gave them an offer on a car and the owner, Robert, accidentally sent me his emails with his employees about me. They were calling me "D-BAG!!!" and "idiot". Ive never met these people and certainly didnt do anything to deserve this. Nevertheless, I looked over the gross breach of decorum, to say the least, and responded with a counter offer and told him he accidentally sent me some lewd stuff in his email. He then responded by calling me a "looser" amongst other things. Honestly, shocking. Thank god for social media so I have some recourse for warning other potential "idiots" and "D-BAGS!!!" looking to buy from these people. Ive worked in the car industry and I would never suggest buying from people who have such a level of disrespect for their customers. Buying a car is a large commitment and shouldnt be done from people who display such juvenile and disrespectful behavior.

I bough few cars from them, and for years I didnt have any problem neither with my cars nor dealing with them. Owner Stephen lives in Kerrville, works in Kerrville, good people, owner integrates to community, helps when people in need. They sell used cars, not telling what can go wrong with them, thats why do your homework get a mechanic before buy, get extended warranties. its always the same story, I see some folks unfairly left negative feedback for Roberts while doing NOTHING to protect and insure their car. I can tell you this, if anything can be done to help a client these guys will do. Ive seen many times its done, because theyre local, theyre raising families and doing this for about 15 years now.. My two cents is I can comfortably recommend Roberts Auto Sales to anyone who is in budget and looking for used car.
