I called to see if the shotgun I wanted was available at this location. I was put on hold, then someone would answer and put me on hold, then the recording would pick up and put me on hold. I tried this several times throughout the day. On two out of the many phone calls I made, one of the employees in customer service said and I quote, "we are too busy to so you can either continue to wait on hold, or call back later." Really! I understand its the holiday season, but this has put a real sour taste in my mouth and Academy will not be receiving my business any longer! I highly encourage all who read this to shop elsewhere for your sports and outdoor needs.

Unresponsive,uncooperative,unprofessional company.I ordered online,paid in full and got an incomplete delivery of the Marcy MWM-990 150-Stack Home Gym.I called Academy in Katy and I was told to call Impex.Impex told me to get those two missing items from Academy.Academy said Impex needs to fulfill the order.I CAN NOT do seated bycep curls and leg extension because those two items are missing.Finally I emailed Academy stating that I paid them and I demand that Academy delivers those two items to my address by Feb 15.If not,I will call a consumer advocate at a local TV station.So far no response. With out a doubt the worst academy I have ever been to. I went in on a Sunday afternoon to but a pair of running shoes, they were restocking the entire shoe department. Boxes of shoes, customers and employees clogged the isles. Youd think they would restock during a slow business day nor one of their busiest of the week. I grabbed a pair of shoes headed for checkout (my fault I didnt check the sizes in both shoes), short version I went home with two different size shoes (the person at checkout should have checked also) with the security tag still on one shoe (the person at checkout never opened the box).

Needless to say I had a bad experience the previous weekend when trying to purchase a treadmill. After getting no where by calling ans pleading with different locations to sell me the floor model bc nobody knew when they were getting another shipment in.. I finally found one on the opposite side of houston...so I left to get it anyway. I really wanted it lol so days later it stops workimg.. so I call the humble store and long story short a manager whos name is Ricardo came to the rescue. He turned a bad experience for me into a good one. Thank you very much for the excellent service!

We were getting a bow for my sons birthday. Could not get any help. We even walked up to the glass counter and the employee just walked right by us. We finally figured it out ourselves and went to check out. ONE lane open - register 8 and the line was all the way into the womens clothing. I asked for the manager and they never showed up. Finally, after 20 minutes (and we made it to next in line position) they opened a second register. Guess the Humble Academy is adopting the Walmart management style.

I was looking for something special , and had a hard time finding someone to help . I did find 5 people who worked there all talking to one another at the Gun counter . When asked were I could find the item , all he said was look for the paint ball il . After finding the paint balls , what I was looking for still was not there . Finally another person was showing another customer around , and when he finished , he did help .

Store is always in disarray. Theres constant theft. For 2 years in a row have gone there for swim goggles. Packages are empty or cheaper goggles in the more expensive packages where they have been swapped. Pointed this to the manager last year. Had a similar experience with kids sneakers. Shoes are swapped. Hard to find someone to help you or help with a smile. Rather shop online!

The staff is friendly and helpful, BUT in spite of signage outside indicating their Back-to-School sale, they no longer carry their store brand school uniforms on site. You must order them online or at the customer service desk and pay for shipping. A limited selection of a higher priced brand is available in-store, but only in kids sizes, not Juniors or Young Men. Very inconvenient.

Horrible customer service. Brought a jacket up to the register but it was missing a tag. The cashier was reluctant to get another jacket to get the price from it. I had to go back and get one. Came back up with jacket and he wouldnt honor sale price on tag. I asked for a manager and manager confirmed price on tag then the cashier started arguing with the manager about it. Uhhhh?????

Academy is a great store, and this is one of their best. The store is huge, and it is almost anything that you need in the way of sporting goods. Sometimes hard to find employees to help, but usually thats not the case. Parking lot should be cleaned more frequently. Prices are much better than they used to be. Academys BCG brand clothing is great.

Its an Academy Sports, what can you say? They have what youre looking for just not exactly what youre looking for and when you want it. The store is a total mess most of the time and they always move stuff around and dont organize things well, but its better than other sporting goods stores that seem to be going bankrupt.

Its a pretty good Academy besides the fact that there was trash literally everywhere on the ground at the front sidewalk, Ive never seen a business this trashed besides on Black Friday, and unfortunately the customers who shop here trash the inside and outside of the store, not really Academys fault though.

I used to not enjoy going because of the rude atmosphere. But recently they must of had change in management and the store has undergone interior change and its become pleasant place to shop. Its a cleaner organized store with friendlier employees that are actually willing to help.

The gentleman at the firearms counter was very grumpy and not helpful at all. Told my wife and I about not being able to keep certain guns in stock because every time there was a news story about ISIS, everyone comes running to buy a gun.

A Houston institution, for almost fifty years that I have been a happy camper / customer. If you cant find it at Academy you really dont need it. You can waste a lot of time looking for better prices, but youre not likely to find any.

I went to buy a trolling motor for my boat took 20 minutes to get someone to me and took another 30 minutes to even get a trolling motor out of the back and when i get home they sell me a used trolling motor that only work in reverse

I had a great helper in the Athletic Shoe Dept - but she had no name tag on. Great attitude, great service and two upscale pair of shoes (clearance priced) at $85 (for two pair!). Great service and great price = happy customer!
